Beautiful beach and good food!
Went in December right before Christmas and the resort was quiet but with options for activities throughout the day. The experience staffs (shoutout to the team - Gustavo, Marco, Alex and more!) were super welcoming and everyone on the resort was extremely attentive, constantly coming by the beach cabanas to check if the guests needed anything. The beach was spectacular, hotel did well to maintain beach to clear the sargassum. Meals were fresh and well portioned. Had minor issues with the room but they were quickly fixed. Would definitely revisit in the future for a relaxing vacation.

XMAS 2024.....Maroma Style
Xmas Trip 2024 with my wife. We are in are early 40's and had a great vacation at this smaller AI resort. We choose this resort based off of information based off of TA and can say it is consistent with what has already been mentioned. We were looking for a smaller, quieter resort with a great beach and less large AI feel and it rang true. Resort: Beautiful grounds that is 2 minute walk from side to side. NO timeshare pitch at all for us. Exotic traveler members (time share members) are certainly evident and the regulars roam the resort like seasoned veterans embracing staff like old friends. They certainly enjoy their time here with many repeating stays multiple times of year. It did not change or impact our stay at all and enjoyed chatting about their time at Maroma. Rooms: We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite which is a larger (and older) suite overlooking the main pool area. It certainly was a little tired but worked just fine for our needs. If I had to do it over I would have stayed in the Mi Hotelito rooms as they are smaller, recently renovated, and have a great little pool and bar out front. Food and drink: Was great..no complaints and lots of options. Room service was quick and can fill the void. Next door is the Maroma Beach Club which you have access to and has a big buffet spread, outdoor grilling station, and wood-fired pizza during the day. Bars have great liquor options from Don Julio, Crown Royal, Havana Club Rum. Tequila selection was super; beer was canned or bottled XX, Tecate, Hein, Coors. Drinks were all well done. Beach and Water: Really nice stretch for the Mayan and can walk for miles. Activities: The team has as much or little as you want to do all day....really up to you. In the nightime you can always find some action at either Ricks Bar or the main beach bar. Usually live music in the evening. Staff: Really awesome. Service at their restaurants and bars outstanding (consistent with previous posts). Activity Team of Alex, Gustavo, Oswaldo, Marco, DJ Chris, and Kevin. Pablo at beach bar. Thanks go all the staff for this amazing activity: painting sombreros was really fun! I only suggest to schedule it in a different time, because 1pm is lunch time Thanks again Kevin, marco, Kevin, Alex, Cristian, Osvaldo, gustavo, now I have my custom sombrero as a souvenir to take back to Europe

Beautiful Beach Vacation over Christmas
Spend a week over Christmas at El Dorado playa Maroma. The beach and water were lovely. One of the nicest beaches we’ve visited. Good for swimming and beach walks. Powder white sand and clear blue water! Pool, bars and restaurants all well maintained. Our room was a little dated but big and large living area, bathroom - two showers, jet tub, comfortable bed and big balcony. We stayed in a honeymoon suite. Food, drink and service - all excellent. Staff very outgoing. Special Christmas Eve dinner menu, seeing Santa and The Grinch come down the beach on camels and foam party on Christmas Day was a nice fun touch for the festive season. The activity crew was fun - we did participate in beach volleyball, aqua fit, yoga, dance lessons and handicrafts… which is something we don’t normally do on vacation but enjoyed here. Nice, low key, small adults only resort with great service (our style of resort) if you’re looking to recharge and relax. Extra thanks to entertainment staff -Marco, Osvaldo, Gustavo and Alex! Thanks for a fantastic Christmas beach vacation!
