Dec 24, 2024Lovely resort that needs some work
This resort is situated in a lovely area. The good: Food at the buffet and restaurants is excellent. The beach bar has great chicken, fries and fresh fruit at all times. There are plenty of chairs at the beach. The sand is nice. It is the Atlantic side so be prepared for waves. We had red flags for most of the trip however yellow too. During red just walk down a bit and you can get in. Nice beach to walk too. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. The entertainment decent too. The cafe is cute and had decent coffee. Recommendations: The buildings need maintenance. Many roofs are leaking. I saw issues in all the buildings ( buffet, lobby, beach and even people on the third floor of the rooms) Never book a first floor ever including swim up rooms as when it rains a lot you can expect it to flood your room. This doesn’t seem to be affecting only this resort. The golf course next door was also flooded. Still the buildings were not built to withstand the rain. I’d get a room on the second floor. The pools are not big enough for the resort. They really ought to combine some of the existing ones they have. Why have 4 all together with all that space around it? Plus the swim up bar was not functional and didn’t appear to be functional for a while. This needs fixing. They also need more umbrellas near the smaller pools not just the main. There is no lobby bar. This is really needed as when it rains which is often at night there is no gathering space. They have lots of room on the 2nd floor of the lobby just add a bar and gathering space. They have one bucket of ice cream at the buffet only. Kids would appreciate more options or a soft serve.

Dec 24, 2024Birthday on the beach.
We have been to this hotel several times and are taking our family with us in the Spring. We have previously enjoyed a romantic dinner on the beach. The last time, in November, our romantic dinner in the evening, was on an extension of the beach bar closer to the ocean, which was much easier to navigate. Our waiter, Ariel, served a superb dinner and provided an impromptu birthday celebration with cake and music. We are looking forward to returning in March, 2025.

Really unpleasant experience. There was a lot of rain and our room was flooded. There was about 2 inches of water everywhere in our room. They wouldn't change our room. We were told later that this hotel is really affected when there is heavy rain. Our luggage was on the floor and everything inside is obviously wet.

Overall, it's good except the casino.
The food was decent in the buffet. Mexican and Italian restaurants were good. It's great if you had Danilo as a server. Pools were good. Ocean was a red flag for most of our visit, so we weren't allowed to use it. There was garbage and seaweed on the shore, and finally, was cleaned up on the last day. Speaking of cleaning, it rained daily, and the entrance to the building and some of the bathroom were wet and dangerous to walk on. Bring some waterproof shoes. However, housekeeping in the room was great. Drinks, We're a bit light on the alcohol but it was good to keep you hydrated. Just had to start drinking early. Casino. Avoid the casino. There is a game called Jackpot Roulette there. It is a SCAM, and you cannot win. We used our visa to play it and we only found out it was a scam by reading reviewed. We are disputing the charge on the visa as it is fraud. They are experts at making you think it is real. We never heard of a casino that lies to you telling you that you are winning.

Filled with Gratitude
The staff are very nice. Everyday they would greet us with a smile. In the morning at the cappuccino bar it was always a pleasant start. In the evening dinner at the Oregano, only great things to say with all the waiters, Victor. Vielka and all the staff were amazing. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Every person that works there deserves an applause. There are many resorts, but what makes good memories are the way they treat their guest. Last but not least Special thanks to Jennifer She was in charge of my parents 50th wedding anniversary in November 2,2024. She was exceptional and a beautiful person. Thank you
