  Really Comfy Bed

  I found this location because I needed a last minute one night stay on a busy weekend. The staff was incredibly friendly and nice and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I stayed in the suite on the top floor which was very roomy with a kitchen, living room, large bedroom and bath. The hotel was most likely an older property that has been refreshed and they have done a nice job. The bathroom was completely renovated and everything felt clean, but things like the elevator felt their age. I was traveling light but if you had a lot of large suitcases you would have to carry them up a flight of stairs from street level as the elevator doesn't start until the 2nd floor. The bar scene was lively but small. No pool and across a very busy street to the beach but a short walk to Ala Moana shopping center. Overall it was a good experience for what I needed.

  Great little place!

  Great little place! Place is ok nothing fancy nothing dirty. Horse theme is nice. It was safe and the beds were comfy. The whole place could use an upgrade… take the stairs if elevator make you nervous. This one makes a lot of noise(its an old one). What makes the place great is its people. The bruddah checking me in was hilarious. The lady behind the bar was amazing! Didn’t try the food but the drinks are top notch!!!! I would definitely stay again.

  Wonderful staff made this a fantastic stay

  This hotel is conveniently located near easy beach access, restaurants, and grocery stores. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. Lincoln went out of his way to help us with multiple requests. Yulia at the bar was joyful and welcoming. The hotel provided beach chairs and towels during our stay. The decor is dated, but it is clean and comfortable. We will definitely book here again if we return to Honolulu.

  Solo traveller

  I have just returned from The Equus after 12 nights I have to say the hotel was perfect in every way, cleanliness , it’s in an excellent position close to beaches Ala Moana shopping mall and very important to me bus stops. I am a solo traveller and I would thoroughly recommend it.All the staff are exceptionally professional, friendly and helpful especially Lincoln, Rene, Ben & Matt I would most definitely give it 10/10 and thank them all for making my stay in Honolulu extremely special.

  Fun vibe, beds need updating

  We really enjoyed the vibe of the hotel - more welcoming travelers’ hangout than impersonal hotel. The staff were very friendly - thanks Colette! The location was perfect for us. We walked to Ala Moana Beach Park every day and took the bus from the stop less than a block away. It was a great fit for our family coming over from the Big Island. Our only complaint was that my husband and I shared a double bed, and it was squishy and we rolled to the center. My parents stayed in a king room and they had a better experience. But the beds aren’t great. Also, the cleaning job wasn’t spotless, but that’s a trade-off I’ll take for the affordable price.
