Boat tour cozumel explorean
Our boat ride excursion where we had three snorkeling stops was AMAZING! I think the best part about the trip other than the views were the tour guides (Nesto and Jassiel) who were so helpful, patient and kind to everyone. My mom was scared of the water and he was patient with her the whole time and helped her feel more comfortable when she did get in. Thank you guys for being so great and making this experience memorable!

LOVE THIS HOTEL
What wonderful week we just had at the Explorean. It is a boutique hotel behind the Fiesta Americana and is a perfect place for a couple getaway. First, we had a gorgeous room with a super comfy king-sized bed. The hotel is all inclusive and the food is great! The all-inclusive includes all the amenities of the Fiesta Americana so there are choices of 8 restaurants, and the food was great in all of them. The all-inclusive includes drinks and I had a few very fancy cocktails as well as the great food. What makes this hotel stand out is the incredible service. Everyone is so nice and helpful. The grounds are well groomed, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. I did use the spa services 3 times, and it did not disappoint. Today's Swedish Massage is the best I have every had and the spa is quite nice. This was a great vacation and I highly recommend the Explorean

Fantastic, Relaxing week. Can't wait to go back.
I found others' reviews very helpful in choosing a resort and planning our trip so writing a long review that I hope will help others! We had a great, relaxing week with our family of four (two kids, 9 and 11). This was our first all-inclusive experience and I loved not having to make decisions or ever worry about the bill, including for excursions! Having access to both the Explorean and the Fiesta Americana is truly the both of best worlds - the FA has a great waterfront, fun pool, nightly "shows", and special snacks set up every afternoon. (Elote/churro/empanada bar, ice cream/bubble waffles/marquesitas/donuts, etc.) We could always find a lounge chair when we wanted what at the pool or beach, though the covered beds beachside and poolside do get claimed early, I'd say by 7:30 or 8am. We loved eating at the FA ceviche bar (they have many offerings beyond ceviche) and at the beach club buffet, where I was impressed with the quality - my favorite was the fresh quesadilla/tlacoyo/sope station at breakfast. We made reservations for dinner at FA dinner restaurants two evenings with no trouble - Mexican & Asian. Back at the Explorean, you could always get a table right away and enjoy a nice meal poolside. We were observing Passover and they were accommodating with making changes (we literally ordered a pasta dish without the pasta one night). Great to be able to choose between the more lively vibe of FA and the mellowness of the Explorean. We took advantage of the activities/excursions every day - a short walk to nearby snorkeling, a short walk to Chankanaab beach club (we paid extra to SCUBA - I'm certified and my 11 year old did a discover SCUBA session), a bike trip to a cenote, and a boat ride to snorkel at El Cielo (fabulous). We really enjoyed Edgar, Ariel, and Adrian who led these trips with professionalism and expertise. Two notes on the cenote trip: 1st, this was an "upgrade" because we agreed to sit through a one hour pitch to join the vacation club, which also earned us a SCUBA discount. A bit annoying but I was ok with that trade off and would probably agree to it again. An important note on bicycle trips: they only have adult sized bicycles. As a result, we ended up having to put our 9 year old son on the back of a bicycle and he ended up injuring his foot. I don't blame the resort for this except for the fact that I had asked whether they had children's bicycles and was told yes. We would have opted for a different activity that day had we understood the reality about the bicycles they had available. We spent the evening getting X-rays, far from how we hoped to spend our time. That said, I did find the team quite attentive when the injury occurred and in the days following. The room worked well for us with two very comfortable queen beds. Storage was very limited - not nearly enough space for a full family to unpack. I had seen in another review that a guest used a post-it over the thermostat because its screen was so bright at night. I had the same problem and solved it by bandaid-ing a card over the screen. We would have benefited from a clothesline (next time I'll throw my camping one in my bag), but made do by throwing clothes over the chairs on our little back porch. Our weather was perfect and I would have loved to sleep with the sliding door open which wasn't possible due to a lack of screens. Common in Mexico but a bit of a bummer nonetheless. The fridge was stocked daily with snacks and drinks and they delivered a basket every morning of juice, pastries, and lukewarm coffee. They included chocolate milk at the request of our kids. We usually found it worthwhile to walk a few minutes for a hot cup of coffee at the coffee shop instead. We enjoyed snorkeling right in front of the FA and my kids were fascinated with the novelty of a swim up bar. FA arranged a two-tank dive trip for me one day (with Dive with Martin) and that worked very well - they picked up right from the dock. No need to book before you arrive. One other aspect that really enhanced our trip -- a very large percentage of the guests were from Mexico. It was especially nice for our kids to have a chance to play with non-Americans. I understand this varies seasonally. Taxis to town were 200 pesos, though I get the sense a savvy negotiator could talk that rate down. Confirm the rate before you get in the car. The Chedraui supermarket is a great place to pick up beach supplies and souvenirs at a fraction of what you would pay at the resort or elsewhere. We flew into Cancun and took the ADO bus to the ferry and that went very smoothly though obviously flying into Cozumel would be far more efficient. And thanks to Pamela, our concierge, for helping us navigate it all!

Explorian all inclusive resort
Excellent all inclusive resort. Great food, drink, amenities, staff, shows, and activities. Several different restaurants to choose from. Several pools. And private beach access. The excursions are great and one each day is included. Look for Jassiel and/or Nestor as your excursions guide, they are excellent.
