Awesome family time
Amazing resort. Friendly staff, clean, updated facilities, nice food options. We had a wonderful time with our 3 kids! Huge shout out to Miguel Lares and Rodrigo. Miguel was incredibly responsive and super helpful. He is a definite asset to the resort!

Wonder time
My husband and I came for a week and had Ana amazing stay. Food, service, rooms and overall vibe are great! Staff is super attentive and kind and on time for things like golf cart drop offs/ early morning rides. This is our second time at the property and each time it has been amazing. The prospect has undergone a renovation and it’s truly beautiful. Some things to note is it if a golf cart oriented resort so you will catch rides around the property but wait time is usually no more than 3-5 min and they run 24/7. Also there are free bikes you can use to get around! Concierge team is great and will help with so much and responds in a timely manner! They can book all your dining reservations for you and things you may want or need. Housekeeping is great and always brings ice cold water at night ( free ). As for water there is free water delivered to your room everyday and you can request more if needed, free refill stations all over to fill up your water bottles and in the restaurants it’s free- pool side and beach side it does cost but not bad! Overall good prices are so reasonable and not scammy. You can also book the boat to go to the other resort to have dinner which is very fun!

High end experience but better value elsewhere.
Mostly good but we have experienced better for lower prices. The fairmont property is beautiful and they try hard to make things right. The welcome is superb, lots of onsite restaurants but there isn’t a shop to purchase snacks, groceries etc so you have to eat every meal onsite. We stayed a week. Small fridge only in room. Stayed in a large comfortable fairmont 2 Queen room with a kid. They don’t have any affordable suites for privacy from kids. The room was located less than 2 minutes from the lobby and a quick 4 minute walk to the pools (or wait for a golf cart). The bambu pool outside this building is deserted usually and has no service. The main pool is nice but built in squares so you can’t see your kids around corners, although there is a kids pool but you may find entitled young adolescents /adults taking it over. The kids-only waterslide doesn’t have enough water flow so it’s hard to move down it. They try hard poolside but there are way too few staff- they don’t come around often and there is no happy hour deals. Once, a burger was completely charred on 1 side and they made it complimentary but didn’t replace it so then there was no lunch. They try hard as I mentioned but it would be better if they were consistent. Room service took over an hour so plan ahead but we found this a nice alternative price wise and after you have exhausted all other restaurants (book ahead for dinner!). Tv has hbo family for kid movie before bedtime. Gaia and Fuego were excellent. For breakfasts, the buffet at bassano/La laguna is very good- they’re the same at both and we preferred the outdoor seating at bassano. Tauro is beautiful and delicious but their kids macaroni and cheese should be changed- Gruyère cheese is too mature a taste for kids. The dinner at bassano we wouldn’t repeat. Bottled water charged instead of more sustainable house water. We did a La carte instead of all inclusive. The on-site coffee shop is too small for the number of people here and service slow- pls use both coffee machines! Breakfast time line up was half an hour and for 3 people it was $70cdn (3-4 pastries and 1 Americano). Better to get buffet! There is another pool around the beach area (you need to take the golf carts over to this one). Staff are all very nice; the spaces are great- Hix has some board games and a lovely outdoor seating area. El peublito (their replica little town) is really nothing much and the $20 usd credit from the candy ice cream store that’s included in your resort fee requires you to mention it at check out for them to apply it- same with any attempts /credits they made to make it right. These should be automatic. We appreciated the butterfly emporium and the staff there. Check that out! Did not like that most kids club activities were 500 peso! There is about 2-3 hours per day that are complimentary but alternating with paid activities that are often free at other resorts. There are no organized activities like aquacize at the main pool. They do have a few craft activities 3 times per week advertised in the elevators and website that i’d highly recommend! We usually stay at superb resorts and I had high hopes here but I think we were spoiled elsewhere. I’m happy we came but if you’ve never been elsewhere, I would try fairmont mayakoba once but then try other resorts for better value! Make sure you find out all the included activities! We loved the catamaran 30 minute ride and the lagoon tour- concierge or beachfront staff can book this for you. All in all a great time if you are aware of all the offerings!

Can't wait to return: a favorite vacation, again
My family has visited this gorgeous Fairmont property at least 5 times and it's as wonderful as ever. Well maintained and beautiful, we love the beach and especially the abundance of nature: from biking through the large mangrove swamp to snorkeling at the reef (which excursion was amazing!). Special shout out to Fernando, the super friendly driver, who made all our golf cart rides even more fun. Beach service by Jose was excellent and we were there for many hours a day. We always choose the all-inclusive option and it's well worth the price for us. Food was very good and we booked dinners in advance because we were a party of 6. Loved Fuego on the beach, where we twice enjoyed the solicitious service by Mauricio. Lobby bar sushi and drinks were great, and Leonardo served us well. The seafood at Gaia was excellent and we dined there twice. Jeronimo and Irvin at the pool bar were fun, once we sorted the ids for those who looked very young! Our only disappointment was the steakhouse, where we were kept waiting for an empty table and then the food and drinks took a very long time. What a wonderful place! Happy that high standards have been maintained. p.s. Lots of construction next store, which we heard from our bikes but we would not have enjoyed roooms close to it

Wonderful holiday.
Great resort. Food, service, accommodations, grounds were wonderful. Would go back. I liked that there were plenty of chairs at both the beach and the pools. Lots of shade options if it gets too hot. Kids had fun. Make sure to reserve your restaurants before you arrive as they fill quickly.
