Avoid at ALL Cost- not worth even $5 a night

Avoid at All Costs – Terrible Communication, Food, and Shady Practices Our experience at Flamingo Hotel in Cancun was beyond disappointing. From the moment we arrived, communication with the staff was a nightmare. No one seemed to have clear answers about our booking, amenities, or even basic hotel policies. Requests for assistance were met with confusion or outright indifference. The food was absolutely awful—bland, poorly prepared, and in some cases, downright unsafe. I suffered from violent food poisoning, which completely ruined our trip. This sickness caused me to bump into a hazardous table that was not secure leaving me with a huge wound on the bridge of my nose. I am just glad it was not my teeth or eyes. The hotel could care less about my well being. When we brought this up to management, they were dismissive and refused to take responsibility. The rooms were equally terrible—dirty, outdated, and poorly maintained. The smell old mold is unbearable the bathrooms and water smelled terrible, and housekeeping was inconsistent at best. Oh and the access to the balony is an outright hazard. But the worst part? The hotel engages in outright coercion. After I got sick from their food, they accused me of causing “damage” to the room and demanded payment before allowing us to leave. It was a blatant scam, and we felt like we were being held hostage. Security and police were contacted when I refused to pay for something I did not agree with and when I asked for a manger, I was refused and not given contact info. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. There are plenty of better options in Cancun that won’t treat their guests like this.

Not the resort I was looking for

We called this the no vacation. No mimosas with breakfast. No takeout for you allowed at lunch. No going into the lunch area with a cover-up on. Food options were very limited. No nightly entertainment (except for two nights a week). This was by far the least "inclusive" all inclusive I have ever stayed at. The lineup for the restaurant at dinner time seem to be never ending… We ended up going out for dinner at local restaurants instead.

Too many guests for the facilities availble.

Our welcome by luggage porters and reception was very warm. Then when directed to concierge to explain our all inclusive package the gentleman and women left us stood as they debated in Spanish who was to provide the information. We was advised to take a photo of a laminated bar and restaurant opening times that was it not helpful at all. On route with the porter to our room he provided far more information about the facilities and services available. The room was very tired that a quick repaint of the walls has exhausted the attempt to detract from old damaged furniture .We paid more for an ocean view but charged for a sub standard room. The toilet cistern was very loose and leaked when sat onit, the sink tap was loose and had to be held to turn on.The bathroom mirror so old it was loosing the reflective sheen. When charging phones the lights flashed in the room. But maintenance said it was all "Ok" MIni bar did not get cold and consisted of three cans of soft drinks, 2 beers and 2 bottle soft water topped up daily but very limited choice. Worst of all we had to queue for every meal between 10 to 40 minutes to just get in the main restaurant and book in then wait further for table availability. The lack of waiters was so evident that even trying get a drink of choice with your meal was a mighty challenge,on some occasions we were neither offered a drink or when able to place an order the drinks never came totally unacceptable. Though the food was good the impact of people waiting created more queues at the buffet area often having to wait for food to be replenished. There is only one main restaurant for evening meals, another Le Carte (Albatross) is a small other restaurant that has to be pre-booked from 15:30 the day before, the shear volume of guests meant we could only enjoy one meal in 2 weeks of stress free excellent service and albeit very limited menu excellent food with drinks. Two pool bars available during the day only with more queues staffed by just one barman. The main Lobby bar also continues with same queues but had 2 barman but all bars very small for teh volume of guests. All drinks are served in half pint plastic glasses weather it be wine, spirits or a shot a real lack of presentation. Both pools have insufficient sunbeds and no parasols at all. The jewels in the Flamingo's crown is those front line staff especially the main restaurant (Many thanks to Cecelia and Christiano ) and bars who simply are prevented from delivering their hospitality skills due to the chronic lack of resources that appears ignored by managers by there absence to support as day after day they face a barrage of angry frustrated guests who simply just want to eat and drink without the stress yet remain professional and courteous. The competency of such operational management if further evident when someone made a decision to hold a Mexican band play in the restaurant that created mayhem as guests entered just to watch the band preventing others checking in to dine.what a farce and how oblivious are those managers to the glaring problems ???? Further insult was hotel staff approaching annoyed guests whilst in teh every day queues trying to sell 'Hotel Discount Memberships". When declined quiet abruptly they just move don with no conscience or empathy. The resort has been expanded to maximise guests but does not have the facilities to meet the basic service needs by the lack of facilities. How can the resort claim to be all inclusive when such basic commodities cannot be accessed !!!!!!! It was noted during the day the number of clipboard shield hierarchy, who did not acknowledge guest and the only smile was that upon a badge worn by all staff. First time in Cancun not VFM and based on this experience will not return. Await the copy and pasted response as with other alike reviews that just proves the insincerity of apologise and superficial customer satisfaction.

Bait and Switch - Ruined My Cancun Vacation!

I booked a two-night, all-inclusive stay at this resort, and it was a complete disaster from the start. The check-in process was ridiculously slow, taking nearly 40 minutes. They photocopied all my documents, charged the resort fee, and gave us wristbands, only to then inform me that my booked room wasn't available. They then told me they were transferring me to a different hotel for one night. This meant I had to check out of the temporary hotel by 11 AM and couldn't check back into the original resort until after 3 PM. This completely derailed my plans to explore Cancun. To add insult to injury, while we were waiting through this whole ordeal, they refused to even provide us with water or allow us to purchase food, despite my booking being all-inclusive! This bait-and-switch tactic ruined the first part of my vacation. I would strongly advise anyone considering this resort to book elsewhere.
