Naples
On arrival, we were greeted by Marco who was the perfect host. Charming, knowledgeable and courteous. I made a very good choice because the view of the Vesuvius and the bay of Naples from the bedroom was beautiful(junior suite). Great bed and pillows for us walkers :) the best; that is the reason for the 4 stars. The restaurant, Bidder was very good the 1st night; we were served by Adriano, who was for us the best waitstaff of our 4 days discovery of Naples and around. A very knowledgeable and welcoming server, smiling thru out service. We had to try the original pizza and how tasty that was. The stewed beef was the best dish from the menu for us as we ordered it 3 times! yes, not much choice for us. Tried the pasta dishes and that was the 1st time in Italy that the pastas were almost raw. From Venice, Florence, and Rome all pasta dishes were al dente. The last day, we tried again, and this time the pasta were al dente. A pizza that I loved was the Filette I think; 1st time was delicious, 2nd time the tomatoes and cheese were added at the last minute which means that the tomatoes and cheese didn't have the kiss of the heat. Very inconsistent! the worst was our breakfast. That was the worst team in Italy by far. When seated, we were not given the menu. We had a beautiful view of the bay so relax. Waitstaff were coming and going but nobody talked to us even though the terrace was not full. After 15 min, we tried to ask a waitress who told us to wait for the captain. So captain comes and well no menu, so we can't order but please coffee... so all in all, we waited 25 minutes for a cappuccino... ordered eggs Benedict; one egg for each of us?!?! Hollandaise didn't taste fresh, the bread under the lonely egg was so hard we could not cut it, and the worst is that it was served COLD. Wanted to send the food back but couldn't find the captain. During our stay, we were not able to get small change for tipping as we could not add it to the bill. Only the last day, Marco's colleague make some change for us. The answer from a front desk person prior to that day, was that their office close on weekend so no change...We were eating there a few times as we booked some tours. Our choice of hotel was that we were the ones who spent the most time in the bus. Tour to Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi coast, which was memorable. Took the ferry to appreciate the Amalfi coast, something like 15 euro per person. The restaurant where we had lunch was beautiful with the view of the bay. We did not try the Georges Michelin restaurant as we were too tired after the tours. But thinking of the breakfast staff, we didn't want to try. 3 staff members we will remember with appreciation, was Adriano and the young bartender who made my Old Fashion and Marco. Some other waitstaff and front desk were nice as well. I have to apologize to the housekeeping as I did not have enough change and could not put that on the final bill. Totally forgot my bank card and well, could not remember passwords... In Italy, you need lots of small change for tips. tour guides, cabs, all hospitality workers...

A Hidden Gem of Old-World Grandeur
We stayed at the Grand Hotel Parker's for two nights before moving on to the Amalfi Coast for our wedding, and it was an unexpected pleasure. Our focus being mostly on the impending wedding, we hadn't invested much time or effort investigating Naples or the hotel, but it turned out to be a real turn-of-the-century treasure with attentive service, comfortable historic rooms, a stunning view, and an outstanding restaurant. The neighborhood is quiet, within walking distance of some good cocktail bars and the seaside promenade as well as a train stop to get you into the heart of Naples within 10-20 minutes. You can also take a scenic walk along a hillside road to the Spanish Quarter and the museums beyond. Our room as well as the rooftop terrace had incredible views of the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius, and the city. The bathroom was modern and spacious, but the bedroom retained the old-world charm you would expect of an older building. We had considered the other 'Grand' hotels of Naples, and chose Parker's basically on a whim, but we were very glad we did-- it was a little taste of the Grand Tour at its greatest height, in a beautiful city.

A 'Grand' stay at Parkers
My wife and I stayed at Parkers in a sea-view/balcony room for 4 nights whilst visiting Pompeii and Herculaneum. A beautiful hotel throughout, lovely spacious & relaxing room, great view of Naples Bay and Vesuvius, excellent service and food/drink. Special mentions for Hadrian and Yolanda for their friendly service in the restaurant. Ideally based away from the madness of Naples center but a short walk to the metro to get around or 25 min taxi ride to city centre train stations. Not cheap, but worth it!

Wonderful hotel
Everything about the Grand Hotel Parker was great. The room was comfortable, the common spaces were lovely. The food was exceptional. Most importantly, the staff was friendly and helpful. Sitting on the balcony enjoying breakfast or a late afternoon snack and drink was incredibly relaxing. I would love to go back!

Incredibly beautiful stunning hotel
From the moment we arrived at the hotel to the moment we left, everything was immaculate. The hotel staff (and owner, who we were able to meet!) were wonderful, the breakfast and dinner were great, and the ambiance of this beautiful place was incredible. Thank you so much for an experience we will never forget!
