Delusions of Grandeur International Hotel
Where do I begin? Upon checking in to this hotel, the reception was frosty at best. The receptionist was not welcoming in any way which lead to myself and members of my party feeling uncomfortable which was disappointing in view of being visitors to a new country. The room (triple occupency) was dimly lit, smelled very musty and old and the mattresses were clearly worn down and the sheets did not smell thoroughly cleaned. The AC remote barely worked and the television did not work at all. The bathroom was dimly lit as well. The toilet paper was almost finished, clearly not replaced pending new customers (when we called for another roll, it took hours to arrive). The shower was good and hot water was good. The toilet backed up twice throughout the 3 day stay. Luckily we fixed the problem ourselves as we did not wish to 'bother' the staff. WiFi connection was good. The breakfast options were just merely adequate. We had to select from a small pre selected combo menu. The food was serviceable and the portion was filling. One morning, the restaurant was flooded with visitors which lead to the clearly understaffed area to be swamped and overfilled with people. This lead to members of our party not receiving their breakfast (we had to leave after 40 minutes). No apology was given. Finally on our last day, I arranged for a late check out. Before this time came, the Front Desk called to ask when we were leaving...they were reminded that we asked to check out at 5:30 pm (they called at 5:10 pm). The receptionist very rudely informed us that she is 'giving us 10 minutes to leave and there is no such thing as a 5:30 check out time'. This was irritating because of her attitude and the clear lack of communication despite us clearly asking them to check out at that time. The worst part wasn't the amenities, it was the clear unfriendliness of the hosts. The maintenance man and the restaurant waitress were friendlier than the 3 faces we met at the Front Desk. In terms of location, the hotel is on a lively strip filled with restaurants and foot traffic on the pavement. The Vietnamese restaurant next to it was excellent. There is also a tiny grocery next to the hotel which came in handy through the stay. In conclusion, the infrastructure, amenities and customer service of this hotel need severe attention and upgrading. I will not be recommending this place to anyone in my personal life nor to anyone on the internet, unless a low cost budget is worth sacrificing both physical comfort (re: beds, smell) or mental comfort (unfriendly and cold service).

Decent budget friendly hotel for short stays.
This hotel was a decent budget friendly hotel. However, I booked this hotel for the amenities, soundproof rooms and the fact it had hot water & great water pressure, this failed to meet those needs. Yes it had hot water, but half the days the pressure was so low you couldn’t shower as it was a trickle. There was no coffee maker in the room as advertised or cafe. The rooms are very dim and half the lights were burnt out in the bathroom and entry way. And the bed was average for comfort. And the rooms are NOT soundproof at all. You could hear people talking below you, in the hallway and even using their room keys. It is a dated hotel. The PROS are it has a great view of Via Argentina, the staff is friendly, rooms are large, AC in room, pool area is nice. Overall - I would stay again if only a night or two but not sure I would choose it for a week long vacation, I would stay closer to casco viejo or the water!

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!
If you like an old smell, paint peeling off the walls and ceilings, beds and headboards that were bought back from a 1970s movie set, floor tiles that are cracked and stained, and a window view told that tells a story you were staying in the slums, then this is the right place for you. The first look walking up to the front door gave me Horror Movie vibes. The front desk attendant was dry and inattentive. My sister and I walked into our room and it looks like we had been punked. We stayed in the room all of 10 minutes, just long enough for me to look online and book our stay at the Riu Plaza only .7 miles away. Once I got a confirmation of it being book, we walked out the slummy room back to the elevator, asked for a taxi and slid the room key to the attendant.

Loud guests, you will not be able to sleep as the hotel”s personnel would do nothing.
Too noisy. Other guests had a loud party in their rooms with music, alcohol at 1:30 am. The guy in reception couldn’t care less as I called twice and they did not stopped the loud party next to our room.
