Nice resort. Terrible service.
This place gets a single star for location and resort amenities. Service gets negative 5 stars. We are preferred members and got nothing but headaches from the very start. Wrong room at check at check in that somehow took 30 minutes as the lady “had to speak with a manager”but really seemed like she was in hiding for messing up reservations. Asked many times for pillows, towels, and basic toiletries that never came for our stay. We turned down the 1 day a week room cleaning as we had just gotten there and room was still in decent condition. Nothing to help offset saving them time and money. Tub was stained so not taking a bath in that thing. Cherry on top was there was actual liquid poopstains still left in the toilet ring. This place ain’t it chief.

Great resort
Great timeshare resort. We booked over thanksgiving 9 months ahead of time. We had a one bedroom and two bedroom suite. You have to book ahead for the grand vacation club properties. I was a bit hesitant to book at the Hilton since the property is huge. I was worried about it being too crowded. Fortunately it wasn’t too bad, it felt like a nice spread out resort. Also the price isn’t that high compared to similar properties in Hawaii. You can pay the same rate $600-700 per night for a single room in Maui as you can get a two bedroom suite with kitchen here. The room was fantastic. They promptly cleaned it every day in the morning, which is a rarity in hotels nowadays. The service was great. Staff was good. Room was nice and in perfect condition. Staying in Waikiki means plenty of restaurant options. The lagoon and beach are amazing, although the rentals for chairs, kayaks, etc are over priced. Surprisingly it wasn’t too hard to find a lounge chair at the pool. Two bad things for the grand islander. One is the pools are cold and the other is that the beach is a long walk. Next time will try the lagoon tower. I wish they heated pools. The grand island we has its own pool, but no one ever went on because it was too cold in November. What a waste! The main resort pools are also cold. The super pool has no hot tub either. At the paradise pool, the hot tub was usually full of kids warming up after going down the water slides. Perhaps it is better in summer. Be warned that the entrance is hidden and you can’t easily access the parking garage. It’s a bit of a a walk for overpriced parking.

Poor service during strike action
We stayed for 7 nights during the workers strike. We were unaware of strike action until we arrived - no prior warning from the hotel. No cleaning / room services. Low supply of clean towels in hotel so had to use sparingly. Strikers woke us up around 7/7.30am each morning and were also making noise late into the night. When we tried to address these issues with hotel staff, they were incredibly rude and condescending. Very unfortunate as the hotel and surrounding resort itself is so beautiful.
