Disgusting Rooms and Terrible Experience - will never go back!

    Check In:
There was no map of the hotel property to help us get situated, no tour to show us around and our room wasn't ready even though we arrived after the check in time. We waited for 2 hours after traveling for almost 24 hours to get there (and then realized our first room was actually not cleaned for us - it was left over "tidied-up" from the other guests.
Room: Absolutely HORRIBLE!! Our first room smelled like a swamp sewer and the sink didn't drain. When it didn't drain, dead crab bugs came up through the drain. It was so incredibly gross and disgusting!! I don't even think the sheets were changed - the room had no bathmat or bathroom supplies, the bathroom step was missing to walk into the high-step shower, the couch was made out to be a bed (why??) and it just appeared to be freshened up from the prior guest (but NOT cleaned for us as new guests). It took 2 days before we could move to a new room - the new room the didn't smell as bad (but still smelled) - the AC in both rooms was tepid, as best and never got cold enough to be comfortable. The new room had a broken toilet seat and on the last day, the shower hose cracked and broke from the footing and we couldn't use it. The shower design in both rooms is a joke. Water goes EVERYWHERE!! The facet doesn't extend from the wall far enough so it goes all over the back of the tub and onto the floor (since the tub sits above the ledge instead of recessed in). It's just a cesspool for creating black mold and a slipping hazard. The whole time we were in the second room, there was a wad of tangled long black hair that was never cleaned. And since we had our 17-yr teenage daughter staying in another room, she had to physically carry her keycard everywhere because they will not give room key bracelets to minors. It's absurd to think that "children" won't lose a room key and that's easier to open their door than giving them a bracelet like the adults. We asked and they said it's because they could buy alcohol. So dumb - just create a color-bracelet that identifies them as a minor but still lets them enter their room. Food: We were with a group of over 100 people spread throughout the resort. We ALL had a bad experience. Several people got food poisoning (including my daughter). Some of the restaurants were fine, but others were not. It seemed impossible to get reservations for any restaurants we wanted to eat at. Even trying to call days ahead, we were told they were full.

    Gluten free service

Being celiac, this hotel is really knowledgeable about gluten free and a special attention is given to avoid any cross contamination. Every restaurant and buffet provide a personal review of gluten free options with the chef. A special thank you to Marvin and to Santos for going over and above.

    Try another place!

I have been staying at Grand Palladium palace punta cana. I’ve been extremely disappointed with the hotel. We booked the room with the loft. When we arrived early our room wasn’t ready we sat in the lobby where we were harassed by sales people until our room wasn’t ready. The coffee bar in the lobby was great and the customer service was wonderful. We got to the room the view was very nice. However, the toilet in the loft didn’t work. They came and fixed it 3 times during out 6 day stay. The breakfast was good in Les Torres and Behique. We had wonderful service by Karina and Ramon L. On the beach it’s beautiful however the persistent salespeople (hair braiding, excursions, parrot, and iguanas pictures). The secured the hotel did nothing to prevent the constant harassment from the salespeople. The security did ask several guest to move places on the beach. It’s very hard to get a seat at the beach as no one checks to see if the seats have been saved overnight. Please IF you come to the hotel snacks, why you may ask. It’s like a food desert after 9pm none of the bars serve snacks. I attempted to upgrade to the TRS package that was a horror story on its own. I’ve never been treated so poorly by a hospitality staff member than what I received from David who was with TRS. He shouldn’t have a job in the hospitality business. The manner in which he spoke with our party was unacceptable. The TRS breakfast was inedible due to FLYS all over the food. Needless to say we left and went to Behique. The teams in the hotel to get to restaurants added to the stress of our stay. Yes I said stress it’s supposed to be a vacation. We had to fight to get a reservation at an a la cart restaurant. I believe the resort makes more money when people go to Buffets. It took the tram 20-30 minutes sometimes to come around to pick us up. The best restaurant that we were able to try was La Lola it had great service and good food. The worst was Bamboo, the food was inedible and the waiter who bought over our food slid the plates to us like they were hockey pucks. I’ve stayed at several resorts, believe me you want to go down the street to the Princess in Punta Cana.

    Great family holiday

Stayed at the grand palladium palace for 12 days in August 2024. Arrived at the hotel late in the evening, and after a smooth checking, we were taken to our room in block 97 a few minutes walk from the lobby. Loft Room was great, but after a few days of rain prior to our arrival, we noticed that we had a leak in the loft bathroom. Notifed reception who sent someone to check and we asked to move rooms in the morning. Ordered room service, which was great with 2 tired children, and settled in for the night. The room issue was addressed the following morning, but we had to wait until the following day to move rooms, which was fine. We moved to block 85, which was a great location - pool view, just a short walk down a path to pool and lunch restaurant. Behind the restaurant was the beach. 1 min walk to main lobby, casino and late bar Hemmingways. Only 5 min walk to princess hotel, kids pool and kids club. You can use all the facilities at Palace, punta cana and Bavaro. We only ate at the buffet restaurants in palace and punta cana. Both were good for breakfast and we ate dinner at the palace buffet twice. We booked Al a carte restaurants on the app as soon as we arrived and ate at the following: •Indian - gorgeous •Italian - not good. The smell alone on entering the building should have told us to leave! •American - good •Argentinian - best restaurant, went twice. Amazing hosts davina and jovanny. •Teppanyaki - good •Japanese - terrible service and food not the best Only ones we didn't try were the tapas and Mexican. Our boys were 18 months and 7 Years old. The oldest loved the kids club which he never normally goes to. He went for 3 out of 12 days. Staff were exceptional and there is so much to do! They have a baby club from 1yr and we felt confident enough to leave our 18mth son there while we spent a few hour in the spa. He was well cared for and it was a real advantage. We went on one trip booked though Daniel a lovely tui rep we met. we had not travelled with them but was still able to book the trip. He was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond. The staff were amazing and we didn't have any bad experiences with any. Special thanks to Bell boy Robinson who was very helpful during our room change and always stopped to chat and help with anything throughout the rest of our stay. Lots of bars, food options and entertainment. Trains or buggies take you around and between the hotel if you don't want to walk. Spa was amazing and wish we could have stayed there longer. The only down side was the pool was closed 3 or 4 times during our stay due to accident in the pools. Not the fault of the hotel but it was annoying. I'm hoping it was down to children. People really should know better! I would never put my baby in a pool without appropriate water nappies. Overall amazing holiday and we will be returning in 2025 with some friends and their family! Looking forward to it very much!
