    What a miserable experience

    This is our second time visiting Cancun, but it has been a miserable experience staying at Grand Royal Park. We arrived late at 9 PM on December 19th due to heavy traffic and delays at Mexico customs. 1. Upon reaching the hotel, we discovered that the buffet had very little food left compared to what we experienced at another hotel during our last Cancun visit. 2. On December 20th, we were woken up early by loud construction noises from upstairs, disrupting any hope of sleeping in. The noise continued non-stop throughout the morning. 3. Later that morning, I walked to the lobby buffet wearing my usual summer tank top. At the reception, I was told I needed to wear something with sleeves. This was surprising, as I had never faced such a restriction at my previous Cancun hotel. Despite the buffet nearing closing time at 11 AM, I was politely refused even when I asked to grab something quickly. 4. On the night of December 20th, the construction noise resumed. The noise persisted on and off, making it impossible to sleep until I finally fell asleep at 3 AM on December 21st. After complaining to the guest experience team, we were able to have one quiet night. 5. On late night of December 2nd and the morning of December 23rd, the hammering and drilling noises returned. We called the front desk multiple times, but no improvement was made. Eventually, we went to the front desk in person, and someone addressed the issue temporarily. However, the noise resumed on and off shortly afterward, leaving us feeling frustrated and driven to the brink. Despite the hotel website stating that construction was supposed to be completed by November 30th, it was still ongoing when we arrived. Construction was everywhere. Considering the expensive price we paid for the hotel; I couldn’t be more disappointed. It completely ruined my vacation.

    Great resort for relaxing

    This is our 3rd time visiting this property! The staff is absolutely the best! Very friendly, helpful and always smiling and willing to assist. Furthermore our butler Jessica is so amazing and has been great every time we visit! She is very knowledgeable of the property and helped us with booking restaurants, cabanas, and anything else we need she would be able to assist! Also, Marie Josè works for the excursions and events part of the resort. She helped us book some excursions on several occasions. She’s very nice, knowledgeable of the different things you can do in Cancun! Definitely recommend her when staying there! The only thing this time that was a bummer was the construction on the pool. 😞 We wished it would have already been finished but we understand resorts have to make renovations so we didn’t let it prevent us from having a great time. The other pool on the resort was open and is nice also. This place is great and we will be back again in the future. As someone who has been here 3x I highly recommend this resort!

    YOUR GOING TO HAVE AN AMZING TIME

    Despite the negative reviews we had an amazing time. All the staff is absolutely wonderful. Yes, there are time share reps that are pushy but all you need to say is “no, please don’t keep asking and they will stop”. Yes, there is construction, we have been watching the progress everyday and they are hustling. The main pool is going to look amazing when it’s done, we were told that it’s gong to be done in two weeks so account for three. Today is December 21st. The beach is beautiful, the cabanas on the right side of the hotel are free to use. The pool cabanas I believe you need to pay for. We didn’t hang around the second pool all that much, we enjoy the beach. The activities are fun, you’re on vacation, so do them 🤩 If you’re a foodie you will love the Asian restaurant . Sushi is upstairs and the hibachi is downstairs. They are two separate restaurants. Reservations for the hibachi needs to be made by 8am the day of. Every other restaurant, no reservations required. We went off the resort to check things out. You will see an amazing sunset across the street, make sure you go it’s worth the walk. We went to Market 28 and had a crappy time. Everyone hounds you to walk into their shop. We tried again at the flea market across from cocobongo and had a way better time, it was a 15-20 min walk from the hotel and they were not too pushy. We had some free tequila samples, probably too many but we had a ton of fun. Buy tequila at a grocery store it’s way cheaper, we learned that after we spent too much on a bottle to bring home. A few last few things I need to mention. I found some extremely rude people at the resort. I guess you can get that anywhere, but if you’re coming here to treat the staff like they are your servants, and treat them with nothing but respect, STAY HOME….your not better than anyone around you. Lastly……ladies if you use the washroom and you happen to pee on the seat, wipe it off, it’s disgusting that you don’t, not everyone can squat. Have a fun time, your vacation is what you make it. Construction and bland buffet food shouldn’t ruin your trip. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 🎄

    Yajahira what a wonderful butler !!!she went above to make us happy in every way . We thought she was a manager …

    The bulter went above expectations she was wonderful in every way she made sure we were taken care of .. she should be a manger as I thought she was one . She made our stay great as first day was not good experience but after that great.. I highly recommend her

    It was a hassle because of the construction but communication between guests and room booking and member services need to be fixed. They tell you one thing and do something different or give you incorrect information
