First time at a Grand Park resort
Great property for a vacation that caters to all travellers. There is an adult only section, family section and has many activities to keep one engaged or not. I loved the clean water stations with reusable water bottles that were supplied. Four restaurants all serving excellent food. The best was the coffee shop that served cappuccino, lattes, ice cream and snacks, all day long!! The beach is small but can live with it

Nice room, good location but,,,,
We liked the size of this hotel, however the uneven walking surfaces can be a big problem for some people. We saw quite a few elderly and disabled persons struggle with getting around the hotel grounds. Also, the elevator in the lobby needs to be put in working order immediately! The room we had was clean and seemed to be maintained. The tv service is very poor quality which is a shame for such a nice big tv in the room. The buffet was hit and miss daily, breakfast was good, lunch was good as well, but supper was not usually that good because of the poor selection and quality of food as well as the food was not even warm when the buffet opened at 6pm. Some food was under cooked and other food was just not good being served cold. I recommend getting to the buffet when it opens for the best chance of getting something to eat that you may enjoy. The cafe and ice cream shop was a treat to look forward to each day. Most days you can get a chair by the beach or pool if you get the by 8am. The view from our 8th floor room was nice to have but very hot on the balcony in the afternoon. The shows were ok but we have seem better show at other resorts in Mexico, also, the theatre seating is concrete benches which are not comfortable for a long time sitting during the show. We brought beach towels folded up to make the seating bearable for the shows. The location of the hotel is good, you can walk to some shopping and pharmacies and eating places for better food choices.

Quick getaway
Great staff and guests. They have an adults side pool near the beach as well as a kids side. Staff do a good job of keeping things in order. We’ve been coming here for about 15 years it’s definitely headed in the right direction as far as cleanliness and maintenance. Really nice trip. Diego the manager is awesome as well as Clemente, Miguel and Mario who help you out with your bags. Aldo is the person to see for off resort activities such as snorkeling, Caterman, etc. they have a small beach on the resort where you’ll see tons of fish. Carlos, Ricardo, Louis are great bartenders who will know your name and drink before you get up to the bar. Really nice trip. Definitely coming my back.

Can't wait for a return trip to this location. This location had everything that we look for in a getaway.

Lovely little family resort!
Our family, with people ages 76 to 15 (and all ages inbetween), absolutely loved our time at Grand Park Royal. It is much more compact that the resorts we usually stay at, but it literally has everything you need for a fun vacation. It is fairly small (much smaller than the big Cancun properties, but it doesn't feel crowded. The grounds are lush and tropical, there are three different pools, and a great little beach for snorkeling. We saw some wonderful fish and it was fun to watch the cruise ships come and go. I thought this resort would be great for small kids as the main pool area is shaded during the day so they could swim to their hearts content. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff all over were very friendly and accommodating - especially the coffee shop ladies (they are so sweet). The drawbacks are probably the food - it isn't the greatest if that is important to you (but we are on an island, so I get it's harder to get stuff). We did not have good meals at the restaurants we tried. That being said we could always find something to eat at the resort buffet and it was such a great deal, that we just went out to eat for dinner in Cozumel (we had some amazing meals in town and right by the resort). The paths are also stone so if you have mobility issues that could make it tough. The main elevator was also out of service for the week we were there, so that could also be an issue for some. The elevators to the rooms were working though. All in all, we liked the resort and the island so much, this was a 5 star trip for us! We definitely plan to be back.
