    Jaime!!

Jaime was the best server at the adult swim up bar! He made sure we always had drinks and food and always had a smile on his face. We love him and hope to see him next time! The whole resort was beautiful and so clean. Every member of the staff is so friendly and gets you involved in all of the activities!

    Spring break.

We always enjoy the Playa Grande and the outstanding staff and being a quick walk into downtown Cabo. The staff is really amazing, ar the ridge, sports bar, calima and the brigantine restaurants. What a great place to relax and enjoy Cabo. Food and drinks are on the higher end so I suggest all inclusive. Make sure to go into town for a few dinners too.

Wouldn't return but overall a good experience

We were a group of 17 family members including seniors, adults, teens, and school aged children. I didn't care for getting the run around at check in. We were all told at check in that there were no rooms left in the main resort where we had booked and that they could "upgrade" us to the Ridge. Not really an upgrade to be honest, the rooms are slightly larger but it's quite a walk to get to the main pools and restaurants. I hate when a company overbooks and then makes their mistake the customer's problem. That said, I did like our room which was spacious and very clean. I personally enjoyed sitting on the balcony and looking down into all the activity going on in downtown Cabo. The breezes were lovely. We got our steps in for sure with just 3 trips back and forth between the main pool area and our room! You cannot swim or even dip your toes in the ocean here due to very dangerous currents and powerful rogue waves. There are several great beaches within a 30 minute drive. Rent a car from the lobby and spend a couple days exploring. The best was viewing all of the humpback whales traveling north from the beach! Staff are pretty great. Shout out to Eduardo, Jaime, Andres, Ulices, and Ricardo who served us around the pool area. We aren't huge drinkers but all of our servers were great at catering to the many many fruit smoothies the children ordered all day! Special shout out to the entertainment staff including Jair and Amy. Very positive and upbeat vibes. Kids loved beach volleyball, water aerobics, and Tequila Volleyball in the pool. The whole resort is very clean and well cared for. Beach party and Mexican fiesta nights are a lot of fun. Gym is clean and large. Shop prices are hugely inflated. Go to Oxxo down the road or the craft market to save some serious money. All inclusive or not? Sticker prices are very high here. We did the all inclusive and it worked well for our large group. That said, the food was only okay. Breakfast buffet has a good variety and very complete. Best lunch is to be had from the sushi or poolside menus and the taco bar by the pool. We had several 3 hour dinners at Colima and Brigantine because of delays with food service. I think the dinner restaurants are quite understaffed. Menus are heavy on the grilled meats and by the end of the week, I was over it and wanted to leave the resort to try some of the highly rated restaurants around Cabo. AI does not include room service so if you aren't feeling well, you have to drag yourself out of your room to eat and drink. They also give you a problem sometimes if you ask for your food to go. Once to a comical extent, when the restaurant manager objected to us taking our dessert to go as the kids were literally falling asleep at the table during another 2 hour dinner experience. I am surprised by the comments about it being a party vibe - if you do not want to be around spring breakers, do not go over spring break. Once the spring breakers left, the resort was pretty quiet. Pool areas at The Ridge are quiet as are the adult-only areas by the beach. Music is loud most of the night from downtown Cabo, bring ear plugs or a noise machine if you're on the Ridge side. I do think that this resort needs to figure out the tipping. We had at least 1 rude server whose name I won't mention who was mad that we didn't tip him. We were under the impression due to the information given at booking that all inclusive included tips but it seems that it really doesn't and you will definitely get better service if you tip generously from the start of your trip.

    Great Stay

Our family had a wonderful time at the Salmar Playa Grande Resort! The atmosphere was relaxing, the staff was friendly, and the resort itself was beautiful. The pools were definitely a highlight—clean, well-maintained, and perfect for both lounging and swimming. The adults in our group felt very well taken care of, with plenty of amenities, dining options, and activities to enjoy. If there’s one area we’d love to see improved, it would be the children’s offerings. While our kids still had fun, we wish there were more games and activities specifically geared toward them to keep them engaged throughout the day. Overall, it was a great family getaway, and we’d definitely consider coming back!

Great for partiers....not great for peace and quiet

We enjoyed our stay at Playa Grande. The grounds are beautiful, it is right on the beach, but sadly, no swimming in the ocean. The staff is very friendly and service has been great. However, we didn't have a choice for our week vacation and we were blindsided by Spring Breakers. PG caters to a young crowd, and those families with kids. As an older couple seeking a quiet stay, the constant daytime music and pool activities were super loud and extremely annoying. Even with the doors closed, we could still feel the thumping bass in our room. My only other slight complaint was the swim up bar pool. Wear some water shoes! The surface of the pool bottom and the seats are very rough and tough on your feet. There should have been a notice to this effect. And sadly, the drinks, while refreshing, tasted more like 7-11 slushies than anything alcoholic. But we did have perfect weather and seeing whales from our balcony was pretty cool. And we thought the dinners we had at Calima and Brigantine we quite delicious and beautifully presented.
