Targeted and Robbed DAY 1 of a 10 day trip
I don't recommend staying here. Especially in the Villas. They think you are rich and you get robbed. All of our money was taken out of our safe and they don't feel they have to do anything about it or really care at all. Someone in a neighboring room was robbed in the same 20min window with it caught on camera and no one cares. We have been at this resort 3 times and have spent over $20K total and no one seems to think that this violation is a big deal. Apparently it's worth a massage that I can pay $50 for at home with a free dinner at an all inclusive. Absolutely offensive when our whole 10 day trip was ruined on DAY 1.

This was a terrible place they ruined my honeymoon we are in process of suing the complex so unable to say everything !!
If you’re could give 0 I would absolutely terrible place Michael Hockley 1/5 2 hours ago on Google We went on our honeymoon grand princess This hotel ruined it totally In process of suing the hotel for the many dangerous things that went on there and still went after we complained . We had broken doors rooms where dangerous etc that caused a fall ( medical hurt ) we have a solictor working for us now as they ripped us off with upgrade bands that was an upsell to make a further profit for the hotel Also staff very very rude and only wanted tips for doing nothing ? I am posting this on social media also to see if this is an on going problem with this resort!! As your will see by other complaints they do a copy and paste reply they are very unprofessional and I advise if any customer feel the same as we have been treated to do the same asap Grand Riviera is not fit for purpose…

5+ visits and still enjoyable
Just back from 6 day stay. We have stayed 5+ times and always stay at the Villas. Villas are about 30% - @ more expensive than the base room, but we love the Villa pool with the reservation for the palapa bed - shade, drink service, snacks, and a bit of calm - are our drivers. The concierge also can almost always get you a dinner reservation. And the Villas come with breakfast at chill out every morning. Pros - The Villas, the grounds, and blended nature - crocodiles, deer, monkeys, birds, coaties, and cocoberras (??) are all blended into the resort. The crocodiles are fenced off :-) Mid - A bit of a contradiction here, but the coaties are a bit of a nuciancse. The population definitely seems bigger. I saw 1 veterinary on site, but did not get a chance to chat to understand how they manage. Based on other reviews, I expect to keep hearing about them. Not so much of an issue at the Villas, but even there. The food - some is great, some mid, and some poor. All the soups were really good, the creme brûlée was great, fruit plate, and the breakfast omelets were all great. Poor - The check in process is so variable every time, and never what you would expect for a returning guest in the top tier room.

Grand riviera princess Meh!
Right off the bat at check in we were told they were over booked and tried to move us to the resort next door but couldn’t show us the resort before making our decision. We decline but in order to get us on the resort they took a room from someone checking in that night. Room wasn’t great we had the deluxe junior suite. The jacuzzi tub was dirty and around the jets the sealant was gone and cruddy so we didn’t us it. Last time I was there I stay on the sunset side 10 years ago it was a way better experience but it is all the same, there’s no difference only the room and services lacked with the front desk. The beach is really nice, we didn’t get in the water at the time I was dark and wavy. The grounds are mature and beautiful but they are over ran by Coates ( Mexican raccoons) they actually stole my purse with my phone and took it off into the wooded area. Only for someone said we would have thought someone stole it. There are monkeys at the resort we only saw them once our whole stay. That was cute. This resort is massive. They do have a tram service but for the amount of walking we did never came across it. And the tram only ran on the outskirts of the resort not through the main lines so that would be hard for anyone with mobility issues. My feet are still throbbing Grand riviera princess and grand sunset princess are the same resort. The only difference is rooms are on opposite ends of the resort across from each other. There’s no extra perk to being on the riviera side compared to the sunset side both sides have access to the same stuff. This place was full of kids everywhere so it would be great for families. I usually hate that when I’m on vacay, they were everywhere you took a step. Not good for couples who can’t relate to kids lol but we didn’t mind. The food was really good at the buffet. We actually enjoyed the food there more than the a la cartes. We went to 3 out of 9 restaurants and they were all bad so we stopped going to them and just went to the buffet. During the day they had a taco stand by one of the pools. It was to die for. Really nice touch however, it was the only spot in the whole resort you can only wear your bath suit to. We missed not having a snack bar outside. Drinks were awesome too a lot of slushie ones All in all we really enjoyed our stay there. If we didn’t have that experience checking in and the gross a la cartes would go back but not after that.

10 Vacation at Grand Riviera Princess
The resort was beautifuly manicured. Maintenance were always at work keeping it clean and tidy. The various pools were heated and very clean. Poolside service was good. This is a big resort so be prepared to walk to the two lobby’s and restaurants. Rooms were very nice and spacious and we had a lovely terrace on first floor. The food was amazing at buffets and ala carte restaurants. Try the Chill-out Restaurant. Amazing service by Julio and the food was delicious. It overlooked the beach and ocean. Be prepared to see Cunte Mundays ( Mexican raccoons), deers and spider monkeys. Nightly entertainment was superb! A few downfalls were that when we arrived they did not provide info package of the resort. Not enough storage space to put clothes away. No nite light in bathroom. The biggest downfall was they had no snack areas. They did have a snack area by the ocean by it was just tacos. You had to go into restaurants to have a burger, fries etc. Overall we had a great vacation!
