Unsanitary Conditions and Poor Management at a Luxury Resort

Our stay at the Grand Wailea was deeply disappointing and unsanitary. Upon arrival with our family of 18, we discovered that my children’s bed was filled with sand, clearly indicating the sheets hadn’t been changed from the previous guests. Towels had makeup stains, and drawers were also filled with sand and hair. This level of negligence is alarming and raises serious concerns about hygiene and the risk of infectious diseases. While management initially responded by changing the sheets and promising a “deep cleaning,” the cleaning never happened, and there was no follow-up. After returning home, it took multiple emails to receive a response, resulting in a $250 credit. I would never stay here again—risking dirty, reused linens is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one at this price point.

    Greatest resort at Wailea!

Grand Wailea is a greatest resort on Maui with exceptional quality of service, excellent food and amazing activities! Their customer support was perfect from beginning until very end. I received an upgrade for a room number because of my Hilton Honors status with a fabulous ocean view. They also provided microwave and kettle because we needed to feed the baby. And their pool services and activities were great for our toddlers. Definitely recommend it anybody wanted to stay at Maui!

Exceptional Visit from Start to Finish

We just spent 4 fantastic days at this 5 Star resort. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with true Aloha Spirit by the Bell Desk who quickly took our luggage. We were checked in at the front desk by a truly wonderful agent named Michelle. She recognized my Hilton Honors Lifetime Diamond status by providing us with a beautiful upgrade to an ocean front room and early check in. Michelle explained all of the hotels highlights with such a pleasant and helpful personality. Our room was great with a stunning view of the ocean. We enjoyed the pools, beach and all the restaurants and bars during our stay. The staff were so friendly and we were always greeted with smiles. The grounds of the property were meticulously cared for. I could go on and on, but if you put aside some of the negative reviews as of late and give the resort a try, you will not be disappointed.

    Disbelief

We have been coming here for 30 years. We have been Elite members since 2001. My husband and I got married at the chapel here. We have been loyal customers! We have seen and put up with a lot of changes and things that we didn’t love! This trip takes the cake! Seriously????? You are charging $150 for beach chairs and an umbrella? What an absolute insult to your customers. What are we here? A budget airline? What’s next?? Will we have to pay for towels? Want shampoo in your room? That Will cost you! Grand Wailea management should be completely embarrassed by this decision! Shame on you! We may have to end our 30 year relationship! Your Kea Lan is steps away! And still treating their customers like they are supposed to be treated! What a disgusting decision!!! Shame shame!
