- House Without a Key
Immortalized in a 1925 Charlie Chan novel, House Without A Key is Halekulani's popular indoor/outdoor gathering spot for informal breakfast, lunch, cocktails, appetizers and entertainment, and offers a fresh option for evening dining in Waikiki. One of the favored traditions of the original Halekulani — cocktails and Hawaiian music under the century-old Kiawe tree — is faithfully preserved here.
As one of the best restaurants in Waikiki, House Without A Key is known for its signature mai tai, a classic to be enjoyed any time of the day.
- La MerDinner only. The only restaurant in Hawaii to receive the coveted AAA Five Diamond (Restaurant) Award, La Mer features Neoclassic French cuisine. Feb 20, 2025Fabulous hotelfor very relaxing ambiance and unbelievable service.
This was my second stay at the Halekulani. The mostly white and beige color palette highlighted by gorgeous flower arrangements everywhere one’s eyes rested created an atmosphere which was hypnotically relaxing. Most of the staff actually turned to face me as I walked by and greeted me by name. They also often shockingly said “welcome back!” How did they remember! Much of the staff have been here 30+ years. They seem so happy to be there and exude a welcoming demeanor. I seriously felt like I was coming out of an altered state when I went home and this is a good thing! We ate exclusively at the Orchids restaurant. We were just too relaxed to bother looking elsewhere and why bother when the food at the Halekulani is so delicious! They also always remembered details of things we liked. My friend liked her water without ice. After the first meal this was always remembered. The Halekulani Coconut Cake is a Halekulani treasure and we ate it with many of our meals. Don’t take my word for it, this fact speaks for itself: I was told they make 30+ coconut cakes a day! The rooms are very clean, comfortable, and attended to twice a day. Sheets and towels changed daily and evening turn down service. I found the “Behind the Scenes Tour” very interesting. There is an in house laundry, dry cleaner, flower arrangement and printing department. I remember hearing that the total staff is about double the amount of guest rooms and the attention to details to make every guests comfort a priority was obvious in every aspect of my stay. Thank you to the Halekulani for a wonderful vacation.

Superb
Great holiday on the beachfront. Staff were exceptional. Our room was first class and food could not have been better. This is an expensive hotel but is well worth it. If we were coming back to Honolulu would have no hesitation in staying here.

Superb Hospitality & Beautiful Culture
We love the entire team, they actually care about their guests and it shows in everything they. The view from our room was breath taking, you want to sit on the balcony for hours. The restaurants...there aren't enough words to explain the quality of every meal from morning to night. This is now our designated hotel for when we travel to Hawaii and when our friends travel. Book in advance, we booked a month and 1 week before arrival to ensure we'd be able to secure the perfect room. Also, if you want Lei's, we visited Le Flowers at "2567 S King St B, Honolulu, HI 96826". The parking is behind the building and they lasted all 4 days we were there with proper care. If you are a wine drinker, the Oceanfront room has a bar with a pullout tray with a wine opener. A nice bottle wine is highly recommended for the balcony view.

Smiles abound, gorgeous room and property!
This hotel is beautiful and the staff is amazing! From check in to departure, my comfort was their goal. I was fully immersed in hospitality and relaxation from the minute I arrived. The room was beautiful and the view of pool and ocean was breath taking.

Tranquil Place in Waikiki
Halekulani is a wonderful place stay for being calm in the midst of Waikiki. Orchid restaurant has great wait staff and the best Eggs Benedict variations offerings. But most of all, the coconut cake is so light that you can afford to eat it everyday!
