  Cheap but not worth the hassle

  The reception is often left without any staff at all, meaning a big delay when trying to check in or discuss aspects of the stay. We asked for extra pillows on day one and despite multiple reminders these weren't provided until our last evening. The pillows are quite thin. Visits to reception found staff stood playing on their phones and ignoring guests. On our last morning a sensor alarm in the room went off at 6.20am. We called and someone visited the room to turn it off but this took time and we were all awake by then. The location of the hotel is fine but it's a walk to anywhere. Parking is also non existent, the closest car park is severely high risk for car break-ins and each night there were barely any cars parked there due to this. Not the hotels fault about parking but it was still a pain to deal with. The NCP the hotel recommended is £21 per night if you pay via app but £26 if you aren't tech savvy and don't have the app. I would not stay here again, fine enough hotel but let down by multiple issues and it just isn't worth the stress when you're supposed to be taking a break.

  Fair enough

  Perfectly fine. Kept smacking my leg on the over sized bed : mattress Breakfast was less good than similar Hamptons. In room drinks remain bizarrely basic and substandard as seems to be the way of it will Hilton group the UK but nowhere else! Cheap and easy in a dirty part of town. Try and stay at the front as the trams / trains at the back start early and make a din

  All beds are the same size!!!

  I am a HH member and stay at this particular location regularly. I booked a Queen Room on Christmas Eve. The bed clearly looked substantially smaller than other Queen Rooms I had previously stayed in!!! I immediately went back to reception to inform them of my annoyance before unpacking. I was told that all the beds are the same size, although he had apparently measured the length/width of all the beds in the hotel, and actually one or two of the beds were slightly bigger by an inch!!! Regardless of this information which I did not ask for, I was unable to be moved to a Queen Room (which I originally booked) due to availability on the night! The Hilton Honors policy states that if guests are not happy with any part of their stay, and the hotel cannot amend the error, your stay will be complimentary. I wasn't offered the HH policy nor even a complimentary kind gesture of any sort for the inconvenience!!! Merry Christmas

  3 broken irons….

  Waited 15 mins at the bar to get served. Woke to find my iron was filthy and left stains on my shirt. No problem: rang down to get another. Gave me a replacement with no fuse. Rang for another - gave me one with a smashed to that leaked everywhere. Ran out of time for breakfast. Really poor.

  Disappointing - room for improvement

  Disappointing. Arrived at the reception desk and rang the bell, stood for 20 mins then took a seat. Decided to call the hotel to let them know I was at the desk to check-in. Attitude not great... Don't think the reception staff cared about guests experience. Finally checked-in, dropped my bags in my room and went back downstairs to get a drink. Guess what - yes no staff. Had to wait around and just as I was giving up someone appeared. Not sure what they do out the back but I would have thought managing the front desk is more important... Gets better After returning from an evening out, I proceeded to the bar to be told that the bar was close!!! really... Definitely room for improvement with the staff training. I would suggest that the staff visit the Hampton Hilton branches at Brick Lane London or Ashford International where the service from staff is exceptional.
