Fantastic view and location, but not helpful services

This property is very special for its location and facility. The view and layout is truly unique, very low key but we feel this is what a remote resort should be like. The night was very quite and spiritual, and the morning was magic, especially for the walk or pool just before the sunrise. The service provided by the resort is a bit of another story. Our first experience was very good, given the friendliness of hotel staff, especially their smile and the welcome gifts. We normally don't need a lot of services, and the only thing we asked was late checkout given our Hyatt status. The front desk didn't give us any extension citing up coming guests and the shortage of rooms. This is perfectly OK to us up front. But what we found out later truly disappointed us. We unexpectedly lost something in our room, and we found this out just after checking out. We reached out to the front desk, but it took them three days to get in touch with the house keeping department! Three days for front desk to get hold on to the house keeping in the same property, how can you imagine this? And then we learned through interaction with house keeping that no new guest stayed in our room. So the front desk turned us down probably just as a routine? We knew from other reviews that this property is not deeply connected with the Hyatt program, but the unwillingness of help demonstrated by the staff at this property is quite astonishing. It's worth mentioning that the hotel has only one parking slot providing a charger, and sometimes it is occupied by a golf cart. So, if you are driving an electric vehicle, plan ahead!

    My oh My!

What a place! The road to Hana is not to be missed. Try and rent a convertible if possible as this stunning 2 hour drive (from airport) is absolutely stunning. It is everything people say it is and more. You just need to be uber patient and enjoy. If it starts drizzling, it will likely stop in 10 minutes. We’ve been on many incredible drives around the world, and this is definitely in the top 3. The hotel was hard to find as no large signage—but that’s one of the joys. Really low key, low density and gorgeous. The huge grounds are breathtaking as is the topography. The green covered hills in the background add to the beauty, as naturally does the lava rock and crashing ocean waves on it. We splurged on an oceanfront premiere room and it was totally worth it, and highly recommended. The covered deck was huge and perfectly positioned for the gorgeous views. The huge overhang protects from rain and sun and feels like an extension of the ginormous room. Spent most of our time there just relaxing. The room has a large sitting area and nice bar area with mini-fridge large counter, and ample glasses and dishware. Nice small dining table next to it. Bedroom is huge and attractively appointed, although the area over the dresser was spasrs and in need of a painting or similar.Attractive furnishings and artwork throughout. The wall-to-wall glass sliders open the space up perfectly to the outdoors. The pool area is nice, as are the surrounding grounds, with adjacent bar. There’s a nearby cabana building where they hold morning yoga classes which were nice too. We did not try the restaurant—just picked up things at Whole Foods by the airport, and more snacks at the nearby market to enjoy on our deck. This hotel is just a really special experience not to be missed.

Spectacular views, warm welcome, beautiful resort!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Hana Maui resort. The resort was like out of movie, the view from our oceanside bungalow was spectacular, and the gorgeous pool overlooking the ocean is the swimming pool of my dreams! The champagne in our room was a special touch. We stayed 3 nights and loved being able to watch the sunrise over the ocean and explore nearby stops along the Road to Hana at leisure. Many thanks for the warm welcome and service we received from hotel staff!

Beautiful resort, very little to do in evenings

The resort is beautiful and provides amazing views of the ocean. The rooms are great and the beds were very comfortable. The pool was not heated and too cold to swim in comfortably in the evening. Very little to do after 5:00pm when it began to get dark.

    Elegant hotel experience

We stayed at the Hana Maui Resort for three marvelous nights in an ocean view bungalow. The staff we are so helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the daily yoga class in the ocean view studio. Our room was private with a large deck and large front window. The restaurant food and drinks were delicious . The infinity pool was nice but alittle cool.
