    Perfect snd lovely short stay

We had a wonderful 3 days in the recently renovated beachfront until A1. The unit was well appointed with a full kitchen, utensils, comfortable king bed, living room and bedroom with twins for our girls. They included beach chairs and umbrellas. We spent hours sitting on lanai listening and watching the waves. The beach is steps from the into. Ate most meals in our unit. Front office staff were super helpful and friendly. Made us feel at home. Loved our short stay and will definitely return.

    Dump

Filthy kitchen. Mold in fridge seal, and broken fridge shelf. Greasy oven Kitchen faucet leaked and no sink stopper. Cooking pans burnt. One set of bath towels per person for a ten night stay. Splinters in hand from weathered stair hand rails. WiFi very spotty. At $559 a night huge ripoff

    Great location

We were very pleased with the location. We discovered the resort some years back when we ate at the restaurant. It reminds you of what much of Hawai’i must have been like 50 years ago. The accommodations ar dated but that is part of the charm. Views and amenities were spectacular.

    Hawaiian Charm

I thought this was a really cool place to stay. It is quant and cozy. It felt a bit like what I would expect Kauai would have been like 50 years ago; it felt like we had the place all to ourselves. There are no TV's, which added to the charm. And, if you wanted, you could borrow a book from lending library in the office. We were there the first week of January, so it did rain a bit, but this again added to the experience. It felt like what you would expect from staying on the north shore during the winter months. The ocean was wild, and the mist rolling off the mountains was enchanting, and when the rains stopped and the clouds pulled back, you could see ribbons of waterfalls cascading down the steep cliffs. If you are looking for an upscale resort, stay in Princeville, but if you're looking for something unique with its own charm, friendly staff, easy access to Hanalei and its restaurants, plus a great onsite restaurant, uncrowded beaches, and beauty that can only be found on the north shore, this is the place to stay.

Enchanting, comfortable, with a rare classic-Hawaii feel and spectacular beaches

This is a unique and special spot. When booking, I thought it was on Hanalei Bay, but in fact it is a bit south of and sort of around the coastal corner from Hanalei Bay in a charming little town or area called Wainiha on a smaller bay called Wainiha Bay. This wasn't a problem; it was a delight! From the beach in front of the resort, I could see north to where the western part of the north shore of Hanalei Bay was visible. From the moment I checked in, I felt very welcome. I think the name of the lovely woman who checked me in was Margaret. She was genuinely friendly, gracious, and helpful. And she informed me that I had been upgraded to ocean view accommodations when I had booked garden view. What a welcome surprise! My suite was very nice. Not fancy, but nicely and tastefully decorated with very comfortable furniture and a comfortable bed with nice linens. The bathrooms are rather out of date and in need of an upgrade, but they're clean and functional, and that's really all I needed. I was here to soak up the magic of Kauai and it was in full, beautiful force! The kitchen seemed to be well-equipped with dishes, pots and pans, etc., but I only ate breakfast here; all other meals were out. The ocean/beach-front location cannot be understated. Just magnificent. The beaches are not safe for swimming because of the strong currents and constant, layered waves, but they are spectacularly beautiful, clean, and enchanting. Great for walks, meditating, picnics, naps, sunning, and taking in the beauty of this island. While the exteriors of the buildings from the staircases, balconies, walkways, and exterior doors seem rather "rustic" and in need of repair and upkeep here and there, I didn't mind one bit because his place has a charming classic-Hawaii feel to it, which is a rare find. I'll be back to this magical place the next chance I get!
