Freedom is it's strong point but could be better

Certainly a fun place. Some themes are tired where people don't even dress up, especially the guys. Most of the waitstaff are wonderful. Food is very good with plenty of options and good spice. Problems: 1. The audio level during shows is frankly idiots turning up the volume. They are making multitudes of people deaf. The volume is so loud that you can't understand the speech as it is so resonant. 2. The front desk is as arrogant as ever. Ms . McDonald won't answer questions, she will just turn away or start talking with other staff. 3. Overpriced excursions and taxis. Just walk past the gate and there is a line of taxis. We went to town one day and Benta River another for 1/2 the price. Even if you can afford it, why get gouged? Standard taxi fare to MBJ airport is $100. WHy pay Hedo $150?

Awesome staff, some great surprises, excellent return trip!

A wonderful 2nd experience - this was our 2nd trip this yr (late Jan/Feb 2024 7 days) and flying home now from 10 days Nov 10-20th and we have thoughts! First off, our first trip was great as an intro to the resort and what we liked/would change etc... so it's a totally different experience coming the second time but there was a lot great surprises (and one unfortunate one). Will get the bad out of the way first - due to storms and mother nature, some humungous trees that provided so much shade and character to the resort sadly had to be removed - in particular the giant Audrey ficus in the far corner of the resort behind the garden view prude rooms. We were super sad to see that ancient tree go! Also another giant shade tree is now missing from the beach - where the "no clothing beyond this point" sign hung there is now a giant half pulled up stump. The shade and grandeur of those trees will be missed! They aren't the only casualties unfortunately as we noticed a couple other trees not around from before - and there has been some significant beachfront erosion (don't worry the beaches are fine) but in spots wind or rain has swept clean areas of sand covering the underlying rock and reef that the beach front sits on. There's extensive areas in the prude beach area where we'd recommend wearing sandals/water shoes all the time to insure you don't stub your toes, or roll an ankle on the newly uncovered lips of rock etc that previously had several inches of sand on them. Don't take this to dissuade you - the beach front is still great and plenty of sand but make sure you have footwear for elsewhere. The great - 1. Bar service 4.8 out of 5. Last visit bartenders were my GFS personal nemesis as it seemed impossible to get a decent margarita and were borderline surly/almost rude at times regardless of order - this time it felt the exact opposite. Across the board the bartenders seemed much more friendly and willing - one in particular Delano Jones was awesome, and it felt overall that all the bar staff were engaged and had a lot more smiles for guests esp seeing us 6,7,8 etc days in a row. 2. Cleanliness 5 out of 5 Our room was spotless everyday thanks to Ms. Jennifer (we stayed 1150 Garden side) - we understand the experience we are attending hedo for but it is a super nice luxury for us to come back to a perfect room every day and seeing her genuinely friendly face in the am certainly was a great way to start the day. We'd be lucky and very happy if she was taking care of us again! Overall this resort always feels cleanly/cleaned in a timely manner 3. Entertainment 4.8 out of 5. - definitely our biggest enjoyable surprise of the trip - The entertainment was excellent we found. While we enjoyed it in Jan, the new headline crew member is an incredible addition (their closing number on fetish night is incredible - won't ruin it but it's beyond awesome lol) and we found there was more variety of singing/band music this time mixed w some entertainment crew numbers that made for a much better mix/didn't feel repetitive. The individual singing performances on Jamaica and glow nights were awesome, there's a great saxophonist addition- and the house band and singer are genuinely enjoyable to listen to. Piano bar is a blast as always. **Our one complaint re entertainment - please play more reggae on property or local acts/musicians. I get groups booked at the property can choose to play what they want for their functions but don't shy away from Jamaican heritage or music - we're there for a tropical experience and to be away from home - we don't need top 40/country etc everywhere we go 4. Food - 4.5 overall - this can vary alot due to personal tastes but we found the food service to be really good. The buffet always had lots that we enjoyed w some genuinely excellent dishes that would be in a sit down restaurant elsewhere (Rasta pasta/seafood boil esp) and everything was always appropriately hot/cold as it should be or refilled promptly. Steaks cooked at the flame grill or in the Italian restaurant were to perfection for med rare and the pasta and lamb offerings were excellent as well. Service in the Pasta restaurant was excellent as well and we were seated and served very quickly both times. (Didn't eat Asian as we preferred a bit quieter environment than tempanyaki). 5. Rest/relax - 5 out of 5 - as mentioned room was always pristine and bed is plenty comfortable for the stay. We've chosen to stay both times Garden clothing optional for quieter late nights (you're also closer to food/coffee in am) and unless you want to party 24/7 have a specific need to be super close to nude pool, we'd recommend staying on the quieter side for the better sleep. We also had nprb this trip getting beach chairs adjacent to a shade umbrella (they could use a couple more but that's a small quibble). Things of note - - the deck area above the nightclub is being stored to a usable state w new loungers and railings. Will be the best spot on the whole property to hang out after dinner! - late night snackbar offerings at nude pool and buffet are excellent. Worth the late night visit. - wish the resort could just have some weeks of the year w no groups? Depending on capacity it just creates some differing cliquey dynamics - and the ability of said groups to takeover certain areas of the resort (no one was excluded mind you) for functions just meant we started avoiding certain areas simply because we didn't need to feel like we were attending a reg Saturday night back home. We had some less that enjoyable interactions w a group that is a reflection on them and their clientele - (to the point we would avoid hedo if they're booked) not the resort at all - so knowing there is weeks where we could attend w other people attending non affiliated would be great. Last words - staff were excellent. Will def be back!

    Two great employees!

We always have a great time at Hedo! They have the best bartenders, Paulette is our favorite! She is the best she makes you feel important and remembers us from past visits. Also this year we meet Johnathan Johnson what a great guy. We have never meet such a polite and friendly individual. We can't say enough about these two they are the best! You will be well taken care of if you meet these two.

Wicked for a Week at Hedo with iosConnections

What an amazing week with #iosconnections on their #dirtypervweek Heather and Jason, you both created a weeklong experience where I felt included and accepted in this community of fabulous people celebrating life and so many yummy things it has to offer. Hedo is generally fun but with this group it was amazing. The energy of this week will last way beyond and I look forward to doing it again with all you Dirty Pervs! Thanks for nurturing my soul this week!

    Best trip every time

I have visited this resort at least fifteen times. It’s always a great experience. The food is always good and the rooms are always comfortable and clean. The staff is the friendliest I’ve ever had the pleasure meeting. The bartenders are very friendly lots of fun fast and generous with the drinks. Chantelle, Diondra, and Paulette are always a pleasure to see and visit with when I’m there. I’m always hoping they will be there the next time I visit. I am looking forward for my next vacation to Hedo. It is already booked.
