Not 5 Star luxury.
Stayed at the hideaway swim up room diamond club not sure what was coming out of the pool filters(see photo) The grounds and beach are beautiful. They need to work on the basics, took 2 days to get beach towels even our butler couldn't get any. Went for breakfast at Dorado's which is part of the upgrade a la carte for Hideaway guests only waited 35 mins for an omelette and it wasn't even busy I think 4 tables at the time four people walked out because they had a trip booked and where in there before us. The toaster there was a health hazard very dangerous(see photo). also lunch there waited just as long for a burger and again not busy. Buffet restaurant arrived at 7.10am took 20 mins to get a coffee I even tried to get my own. No napkins which I think is very poor for a 5 star resort. After a couple of days we finally got a waiter in the buffet who knew what he was doing worked hard and very polite his name was Cleyvi (see photo) Look for him if you visit this resort. Also we had another problem which I cant tell about as I had to sign a NDA for this. Our butler was good Jhoenmy (see photo) getting us reservation's in A la carte restaurants Good luck with the App We have visited the Dominican Republic many times and can honestly say this is the ONLY resort we would not visit again. A la carte restaurants Teppanyaki, Hunters and Jade were good also the service. They need to get the basics right and offer better service.

Resort stay from hell
The name of this resort should be The Stayaway at Royalton Punta Cana! I’m staying at the resort at this moment. It has a beautiful beach and several nice pools and because of that I rated it 2 points. The restaurants are almost impossible to get reservations. So I cannot comment on most of them. The buffet doesn’t require reservations and is good food, not great! The nightly activities are so loud that it’s impossible to get any sleep until well after midnight. This is not the resort for peaceful rest. When I arrived the person checking me in was unable to communicate in English. He attempted to explain the amenities and facilities of the resort but it was impossible to understand him and he couldn’t understand me. Every night the noise of the “entertainment” was extremely loud and once the music stopped the people were slow to leave and when very noisy with talking and screaming. I put up with the noise for 3 nights, thinking it would not always be so loud. However, last night was the worst! The bass speakers were so loud that they couldn’t be eliminated even with earplugs. The bass reverberations were going through the walls and through the bones of my body. I attempted to call the front desk but the phone in my room wouldn’t work. I went to the front desk and complained. They said they couldn’t move me because they were full. I was told to return the next day. The lady I spoke with said she would help me get the manager today. When I went back to the front desk this morning I was told that she wouldn’t be in until 3:00 this afternoon. So of course by then there would be no rooms available. The same young man that checked me in was all that was available to help and he doesn’t speak English well enough to communicate. So he made a phone call and told me to come back and noon today. I’m spending the morning dealing with the issue and not enjoying an expensive vacation. Additionally, I have bugs in my room. See the pictures of my roommates

Much needed long weekend getaway!!!
First time staying at Royalton property & we enjoyed ourselves!!! I liked being in a separate building for the Hideaway, but being able to enjoy all of the other amenities of the resort!!! The only issue was the vacation club presentation!! We felt like we were being pressured, even though we told them we weren't interested!!!

Good place to stay, great bartender
Overall a great place to stay. The food is pretty much what you would expect from an all inclusive and the service is pretty good for the most part. Rudy, the bartender at the Hideaway pool, is the best! He treated us so well and was such a kind and accommodating server.

Great Food & Facilities; Poor Service
The Hideway at Royalton is a nice resort. The facilities and atmosphere of the resort are nice and being in the Hideway you can escape the off to a secluded pool with less people. I rated the stay average because that is just what it was. Although the facilities and atmosphere were great, the staff, not so much. The staff was less than helpful and seemed annoyed to provide any kind of decent service. Booking reservations at any restaurant was difficult, but luckily Hideway does have a restaurant that does not require reservations. With that being said, it took forever to get service at the table and to get food. I will say even with the lack of customer service, the food was way above average for resort food. I've been to many resorts and I probably won't be back to Hideway Royalton based on the experience I received from the staff. If you're ok with poor service but great food and facilities this is the place for you.
