Amazing Resort, Will Definitely Go Back!
Spent a week at this resort with family and older kids. Everything was perfect. The staff was amazing, and the hotel is very well staffed. We never had to wait a long time for anything. They do an excellent job of separating family and adults only areas. We never had issues finding lounge chairs or renting cabanas by the pool. The sky bar is a great option for sunbathing as well. The views are breathtaking. Sunset is amazing. Water is clean / blue, and you can watch whales this time of year from the hotel. Yes, from your balcony or the beautiful front desk / lobby area. It seems like every floor above the 3rd floor will have a clear ocean view (some lower floors may be blocked by palm trees). The food was good for an all inclusive, some of the food excellent. We never had issues with the food or drink options. Spa services were incredible. If I had to make one suggestion to the hotel it would be to speed up the checkin process a bit, but that is pretty typical of these resorts.

There are just better places than this
Rooms are ok. Thermostat doesn’t really work so it never changes temp. I’ve been cold since I got here in my constant-65 degree room. Food from the buffet places has been subpar. Scrambled eggs swimming in a sea a liquid, sausage too tough to eat…one single omelet station with 20 people in line because the buffet was so bad… the worst part is the location. It’s a bit south of town and the hotel is so tall, it blocks the sun in December. It’s 12:40 pm on December 28 and I’m sitting by the pool in a sweatshirt because the shadow of the building is preventing any sun from hitting the pool area. It’s 75 but feels like 68-70 due to the shade. Almost not beachfront…which is getting some sun, because they built so close to the water. The room mini bar has 3 sodas in it an 3 beers. Refill no more than once per day. My previous stays in PV have been at the Secrets, which is where I’ll return. This isnt a bad place, they have an adult only pool…which has a waiter that comes by 1 time every hour even though this is “high season”. I usually don’t go to the restaurants that require reservations because I find the food all comes out of the same place. The buffet is where I judge all hotels. The most disheartening thing is the shadow cast by the building that makes the pool area so cold. Every beach chair has been “saved” since 9 am and there are literally 3 people in the pool…all sitting around the ONLY bar at the pool, which is in the adult pool. They just missed the mark with this place . Yes, they have an all-inclusive in PV, but there are so many better places to stay. You have no sunshine in your pool!!! So step up the food quality, step up the number of servers, be overly generous in the room mini bars, set up soda and beer stations where people can serve themselves. Offer air line transport FOR LESS THAN $155 each way. I spent $55 on a private taxi I arranged at the airport. They charge $1000 per night during Christmas week. F-ing act like a $1000 a night hotel versus a $300 a night hotel that’s just price gouging.

Wonderful Staff!
We had a wonderful experience in large part due to the staff! Particularly, Jorge and Juan at breakfast at La Vela on Christmas Day and from La Luce, Chef David Cadena, Andre and Francisca. Fernanda from the front desk is also lovely! Would highly recommend those outlets and the salmon at La Luce - yum!

Exceeded expectations - fantastic family vacation
Fantastic trip with the family. I was a little concerned about an all inclusive regarding the quality of food or drinks but as it turned out, there was nothing to worry about. The food was all good and the drinks were readily available. It was actually easier to get drinks than it was to get food. The alcohol wasn't top shelf but it was all readily identifiable brands so I don't have any problem there. The staff was FANTASTIC. Whether at the buffet, by the pool, during check-in, at the restaurants, during the exercises, or the planned activities, all the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. As an example - We asked for some drinks that required an ingredient that wasn't normally at the pool bar but was available at some of the other bars. Instead of simply saying it wasn't available, the waiter went to a different bar for the ingredient and kept it readily available by the pool bar during our stay. One evening we wanted to change the time for a restaurant reservation. Given the limited number of tables at the restaurants, this could have been an issue, but they were able to make it work. It is difficult to call out individual staff, since everyone did a fantastic job and I am horrible remembering names but our morning exercise with Wiyo was a great way to get the blood pumping in the morning. Hugo in the activity staff knew our group and was always friendly when he saw us. Jesus in the sky bar made sure to know which drinks we liked and always came around to make sure we were taken care of. Martin was able to change our dinner reservations without making a fuss. My only comment for improvement would be the deserts - They look great but in my opinion, the usually did not taste as good as they looked. The one exception would be the lava cake at the steak house. The breakfast buffet was great. The selection was excellent and the chef at the omelette station did a great job as did the woman making fresh tortillas and quesadillas. We liked lunch at the Cocomar more than the Seasalt but the difference was sit down vs buffet. NOTE: We went into town at one day. Based on recommendations from other guests, we took Uber which was cheap and convenient. There was a lot of afternoon traffic when we were heading back to the hotel and the uber wait kept getting longer so we took a cab. The quoted price as okay but I forgot to ask if they took credit cards and as it turned out they didn't, and their exchange rate for dollars was extremely poor, so it turned out almost twice as expensive to take a cab back from town. Not a big problem, but just a bit of a surprise since I forgot to ask a couple of questions. Even if I had ask those questions, based on the wait for the Uber, I would have still opted to take the cab just for the convenience. I just wouldn't have had the surpise.

Great Stay for families with young children
This a great resort for families with young kids if you’re looking for a well kept resort with a variety of food and activities. I wouldn’t describe it as a fancy or upscale resort, but I would say it’s on the higher end of the affordable resorts in PV. We want to give a huge shout out to the activities team that was on shift while we were there: Blanca, Hugo, and Saul. Our son is 6, and had a great time with all of the activities they hosted. Also a special thanks to all of the staff at the resort. They are all attentive and professional. We never felt ignored or that we had any problems that weren’t offered solutions. The standard rooms are okay. We were in a 2 queen room on the 3rd floor. The biggest downside was the strong smell of mildew/mold. The beds are 6/10 for comfort. The ocean-view is beautiful. The housekeeping and maintenance staff are great for staying on top of anything the room needs.
