Jan 28, 2025Incredible view of the bay and excellent beach service
The room was very nice - spacious, comfortable bed, and excellent view of the bay. My only complaint is the thermostat was difficult to operate and there was no instructions. There was a good variety of food choices; however, the quality was just okay to good. Be advised that not all the restaurants or bars are open each day. The hotel posts a weekly schdule of which ones are closed and open. Try to book a reservation for dinner early in the day or you may be out of luck. The hotel is located on a very nice beach with much clearer water compared to what you would experience in downtown Puerto Vallarta. You can walk along the beach quite aways going south, but not past the hotel going north. I really enjoyed the beach area (north side of hotel) where exceptional service was provided by Juan and Daniel. They were always very attentive and had good information about the area. That said, the concierge service was not always that helpful ( e.g., did not know the bus system). Entertainment was okay and mostly consisted of a solo musician that performed in the hotel lobby area. That seemed to be the place where most of the late night activity occurred.

Shaded pools made for chilly mornings
Overall we had a good time, but unfortunately the sun did not hit the pools until 12pm and the pools don’t seem to be heated as they were quite cold. This could be an issue if you are an early riser and want to hit the sun upon rising or have small children that want to hit the pool early. I made use of the recreation the hotel provided in the morning which helped pass the shaded, chilly mornings until the pools were warm enough to swim in.

Jan 25, 2025A Beautiful Getaway in the Mountains of Puerto Vallarta
The hotel staff was fantastic and the location is phenomenal! Being situated in the mountains provide superb views of the bay. The staff was very attentive and listened during conversations. They honored us for celebrating 10 Years of marriage at the hotel. The massage therapists made massages a must for every vacation going forward. I have to shout out Esmeralda & Pedro for their special attention in Vela Food Hall. We will definitely return.

Hotel review
We had a great time! Norma and Medardo made sure we had an amazing breakfast at Vela every morning. And Juan gave us excellent service at the beach. Highly recommend the Japanese and Cocomar restaurants. The view from our room was amazing. Whales every day

Incredible staff & view on the beach!
I’m Diamond in HHonors so obviously I travel and stay at Hilton hotels a lot. I received my benefit of a room upgrade when I checked in. Always a nice surprise. This is a beautiful hotel with an incredible view! I had a few issues with my room but those were taken care of within 24 hours. Watching the whales jumping every day was such a treat! The hotel blocks the sun from the pool until 1pm afternoon but you can grab a sunny spot on the beach much earlier. What really makes this place special is the staff. Juan & Daniel at the beach provide amazing service!! They are tireless and and always smiling. They took great care of me. I ate lunch at Cocomar the seafood restaurant every day. The salmon and shrimp cocktail was delicious, Mario was my waiter daily & was super attentive. I really liked the Italian restaurant and the food was great. The ceaser salad clearly had a homemade dressing, fresh baked bread, and the risotto was rich and yummy. Maribel at the door is sweet and efficient and Sergio my waiter was super busy with big tables but took time to make sure I had everything I needed. I really enjoyed myself. A couple of wishes, the lighting in the bathroom in my room was awful so ladies bring a lighted travel mirror. I wish yoga would have been offered. They allow guests to ‘save’ machines in the gym so when you get there the place is empty but you can’t work out because the machines are being saved while folks go eat breakfast—ridiculous!! All in all I’ll definitely go back!
