Excellent Hotel
Excellent hotel, I stayed with my family and we had a great time, the breakfast was very good. The beds and rooms were comfortable and kept clean daily. The check in was smooth and the service was very good. The pool and roof top services were very good.

Experience in Cartagena de Indias.
The hotel is very well located, although the infrastructure is somewhat old, it is good. Very good attention from the staff. I suggest that they warn travelers about the precautions to take into account when going to the beach, about the massage staff and the vendors

disappointing for a five star hotel
My recent stay at the Hotel Almirante Cartagena was quite disappointing, especially given its claimed 5-star status. From my experience, it falls far short of that standard and is closer to a 3 or 4-star hotel at best. Negatives: • Upon entering my room, I discovered that the phone didn’t work. This is a basic amenity that should be functional, especially in a hotel of this rating. • The reception staff are poorly trained. When I called for assistance, I was either ignored or received unsatisfactory service. In one instance, I requested a glass of water to take medication, and despite multiple calls, the glass never arrived. • Shockingly, there’s no complimentary water provided in the room—an expectation in any 5-star hotel. There’s also no coffee maker or water boiler, making it impossible to even prepare a simple cup of tea. • The noise insulation is terrible. Conversations from the neighboring room were audible, and the constant noise from the mini-fridge was disruptive. Reviews from others confirm that this is a common issue. • Breakfast was another letdown—limited options, overcrowded, and far below the quality offered by cheaper 4-star hotels in the area. • The internet connection was unreliable, which made it difficult to get any work done. • The hotel is poorly maintained, with dirty windows and small details left unattended. This gives the whole place a worn-out, neglected feeling. Positives: • The gym is decently equipped, particularly for those interested in weight training. While the equipment is outdated, it’s functional enough if you manage to find a quiet time to use it. • The cleaning staff did a good job. My room was well-maintained, so credit is due to the housekeeping team. Overall, Hotel Almirante Cartagena is not worth the price, especially when compared to other hotels in the area. It fails to meet the most basic standards of a 5-star hotel, from customer service to room amenities. I would not recommend it unless management makes significant improvements.

Good Hotel
Good hotel, nice pool. Need to improve activities for family and kids. Room was ok but could use more storage space for clothes, and maybe easier laundry and dryer service as having a pool means you need to dry your swimwear. Overall it was a good day.
