Great spot to end the vacation with more of a local flare

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! Jose and Benji were incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The rooftop was absolutely stunning—a perfect spot to relax and take in the views. The location couldn’t be better, nestled in an artistic area with easy access to shops and restaurants. Celele, a fantastic spot right around the corner, was a standout—it deserves a Michelin star! Overall, this was a wonderful experience, and I can’t wait to return. Highly recommend this gem!

All that glitter is not gold

Not sure where to start- let me start with a good point- location- this hotel is perfect for its location- bang on the middle of Getsemani (the old town) with everything at the doorstep- easy to walk everywhere and lots of restaurants around. However, unfortunately any praise stops here! The rest of the hotel including accommodation and service are totally atrocious. First to start with the decor, I read in other reviews that people are waxing lyrical about the decor- I blame the indulgent architect and interior designer for filling the place with bulky pieces of useless furniture. I appreciate that it is an old building and refurbished for its new use but what a ghastly transformation. First rule of space planning is if you have a small space, you don't fill it up with bulky pieces of useless furniture to make it look even smaller. On the way to breakfast restaurant, there is a puzzling waterway which is not only a safety hazard but also narrows the access (there are two rooms at the back and whilst thankfully I was not staying in these rooms, I wondered as how to drag your luggage to the room). The breakfast restaurant has split levels, only couple of steps, up and down which makes the job of waiters serving food even more challenging. My shower room was frankly embarrassing- imagine a small cupboard in a kitchen turned to a shower with a curtain in front! the sink in the bathroom reminded me of a kitchen sink for washing dishes! If this hotel had been in Europe, it would have been shut as it completely ignores the disability act. Add to that the supposedly fast wifi which cuts off for hours everyday without any warning, utterly terrible services and young untrained staff who prance about in their black long coats and their headphones. One final piece de resistance- reception lobby- none existent in this hotel- it is a desk at the back of a living room, you need to negotiate your way and luggage through people eating, to get to the reception desk. All together, stay in the area but not in this hotel.

Place to visit, not to stay

The exquisite, thought-provoking and unique decoration does not support the title of Boutique Hotel. Rooms without a window to the outside and close to the restaurant areas do not allow us to relax with tranquility, not to mention the lack of privacy in the bathroom. But the worst of all is the unpreparedness of the team in general. Lack of training, commitment and sophistication in service make what was supposed to be moments of pleasure and relaxation become moments of irritation and discontent. Not to mention that they charged more for drinks with the "excuse" that the drink was higher than what we had requested, without our consent. Even if we complained, they didn't change the posture.(Approximately USD 10 in total, but in my understanding, even if the amount is not high, which is certain, it is certain!) In short, a hotel worth visiting, but under no circumstances staying.

    Excellent

It’s an excellent option, for us the best of all the restaurant we visit in Cartagena, very fast and friendly service, the dinner was more than excellent, all the dishes were very good, highly recommended, the decoration and the music were very good, remember to make reservation to guaranty a table because the restaurant was full.

Lola hotel is absolutely deluxe in all the right ways!

A perfect boutique hotel in the Gesemeni old town area. Unique decor in every room. Roof top pools were well maintained. Staff was amazing. Yaudis and Jaider are both perfect examples of professional hotel managers. Always a smile and never rushed. Short walk to the other parts of town through a beautiful city park full of monkeys and even a sloth or two. It’s a great way to escape!
