Service is lacking
We are a family of 16 people who are expected to arrive at the hotel in July, I have been trying for two weeks to get service from the hotel by phone/email in order to ask questions/add a person to the room, there is no response in any way. Disappointing that this is how we have to start our vacation.

Clean, charming, great location
This hotel is right on La cazada which is a super cool and fun street near Central Park. The bar/restaurant is a super cozy lodge with a variety of cool animal heads on the walls. They show NFL games which was awesome for me (Go Bills!). They have a beautiful pool in their courtyard that you can go to just for the day for a small fee even if you aren’t a guest. Rooms are clean and service is friendly. This is an awesome place to stay in Granada!

Great hotel, pool and location to be spoiled at
Over the past eight years we have, when time permitted, try to stay a few days here to enjoy the large pool, attentive staff and wonderful large rooms. It has and did not disappoint us again, same friendliness, clean facilities and wonderful staff. Our waiter Roberto has know us over all these years and when we could not find the time to stay here, we always came for dinner each year and will do so as long as we are able to. The Hotel Granada is one of the more expensive hotels in Granada but worth a visit or stay even for a few days. A very large complex with lots of space to explore and nicely landscaped. A local favorite for weddings and entertainment.

Amazing pool and grounds
Sadly, our room was nothing like the ones in the photos pictured on its Google ad. However it was comfortable and clean. The restaurant is open to the street and looks nice, but we did not eat there. The breakfast is served in an upstairs area open on three sides, which was lovely. The pool was fab, plenty of loungers but the bars were closed. you either had to walk though to the the restaurant, or use a phone and make a call. Beer would appear, but the service was fairly slow. Also, not sure why, but they wouldn't allow our group (17) a tab, so you kept having to go to your room to find cash. Disappointing for a hotel this size. In a good area for exploring - nice fairy lights down the street to the main square, many restaurants all offering different dishes and clamouring for your business.

Less than welcoming
Since many hotels/restaurants in Granada offer day passes for pool access, I thought I would go to this landmark hotel. Mistake. I asked if I could have lunch by the pool. No. I asked how much pool access would be. $7 which in Nicaraguan economy is pricey. I went to look at pool, nothing spectacular but decided it would do. Returning to the ‘hospitality’ desk, rep saidI could eat lunch and swim for $15. Since most lunches at top end restaurants run $5 this did not seem like much of a deal. I declined and got out a $20 to pay her. Don’t I have anything smaller? No. Then I’ll have to give you back in cordobas. Alright. She hands me a wad of money not counting it out, while I try to do calculations on currency exchange. I asked her for a receipt (thus would be able to see the math). She refused. Adios, Hotel Granada. Up the street Hotel Encuentros welcomed me, said I could use their pool for free, they weren’t serving lunch but I could bring in take out. Holy guacamole, what a night/day difference in customer relations.
