Mar 25, 2025Great location and high quality hotel
My wife and I stayed for 5 nights for a ‘sight-seeing’ trip and the hotel was perfectly placed in the centre of Athens. The hotel is obviously older, but has been excellently maintained and decorated. The rooms are well appointed and to a very high quality. The high-light of the hotel is the 8th floor dining room. There are excellent views of the Parliament building and the Acropolis / Parthenon. We sat outside for breakfast a couple of mornings and it was amazing - you needed a jumper, as still early in the season. The cigar bar on the 2nd floor was also great and was a nice place to go for pre-dinner drinks (or post-dinner). The staff through-out the hotel were excellent and very helpful - all speaking very good English for us tourists! We did not realise that our trip ended on Greece’s Independence Day, which centres around Parliament and therefore the hotel! All the road were shut off from 6am on this day, so many thanks to the hotel Concierge for still managing to arrange transportation to the airport for us.

Central location
Majestic hotel on the edge of Syntagma square and adjacent to the parliament buildings. Brilliant location for sight seeing Athens with lots of lively bars and great restaurants within walking distance. This historic hotel once a mansion has a sumptuous and luxurious feel. The staff provide impeccable service. Thanks to Andrew who served us on many mornings as we sat outside enjoying the rooftop views of the city. At night the breakfast area changes to an evening dining venue with a magical view of the city. On warm mornings and nights the doors can be opened to provide the feel of an outdoor dining experience. The bedrooms are kitted out with kettle and coffee device. I did bring my own tea. A stocked mini bar / chargeable. Bathroom accessories, shampoo conditioner soap, hair dryer. In room safe. Would definitely recommend if you want a luxury experience.

One of the best in the world
This hotel is spectacular . The history the elegance and the staff along with the location can not be beat. The breakfast is the beast I have had any where in the world and a true experience to savour. In a word spectacular. Each stay here is magical. I can’t wait until my next visit to this iconic property.

Elegant and Historical
The hotel once was an elegant residence that was expanded to become a hotel. The location is central and was perfect for our stay. Very close to shopping. A bit noisy neighborhood, lots of traffic but double pane windows block the sound. Our room faced the parliament with a very nice view. From the room we could enjoy the Sunday parade and changing of the guard. The room was spacious, well decorated in the prior for the hotel. Bed was very comfortable, linen and towels were nice . The roof top bar and restaurant was well decorated and provided an exceptional view. Now the best of the hotel….the staff! The concierge desk always had clefs dor concierges at ready. Always very helpful. The servers at the top of the hotel provided excellent and cheerful service often anticipating your needs. The breakfast which was included in our room rate was delicious and plentiful

Great location brilliant roof top views - Avoid if you are looking for Greek cuisine -standard fare rather than promoting local food all international dishes that you can eat anywhere. Staff are very helpful and keen to help. For a brand that is high end luxury it left a lot to be desired
