This place is so unique and special. The staff was so kind and helpful, the owner was also always around. It’s not stuffy but more low key. The views and location are absolutely unbeatable for this price and - as I said - we wouldn’t want to be in a super chichi place anyway. We’re definitely coming back!

Blissful retreat - a few hiccups but all good

Upon arrival to this beautiful resort, we were unfortunately greeted with the loudest music I’ve ever heard. It was bizarre. Turns out they had got new equipment and a DJ turned up for the day “testing it out” this lasted for about 4/5 hours and it was awful. We were there for 2 nights and I’m pleased to say the following 2 day’s were absolute bliss - with no horrendously loud music. A heads up from the hotel might have been a good idea, or just to let us know it wouldn’t be for the whole time there. Room was gorgeous. Staff were lovely. You can’t fault the setting at all. If you’re looking for somewhere to do nothing and relax, then this is the place for you. Tierre Bomba is a tiny island, and when you book this hotel make sure you organise the boat transfer that they provide, otherwise you’ll get ripped off by the locals (you get here from Cartagena). From the hotel, turn left and you’re at the beach, turn right and you can walk to the town. That’s it. It’s a dirt track, there are no cars. It’s blissful if you want to switch off for a few days and truly relax!

Impossible to contact this hotel

I didn't actually stay at this hotel, because it is impossible to get in contact with them. I tried, repeatedly over several weeks, to contact them. I called and messaged the listed phone numbers, wrote to the listed email and also sent them an email and tied the instant message service on their web page. I left my contact every time and no one has tried to reach me. The absolute rudest is that, after insisting over several days on whatsapp that they give me a valid contact, I literally begged for a reply and they answered: "hello, good day." nothing more. Beware because you can actually book this hotel through third parties but I don't think there is anyone to answer questions or give any kind of support. No one has left comments for months... dodgy.

Remote oasis

This place is amazing. I highly recommend reaching out and booking the boat with the hotel before getting there as it is very remote and you cannot just show up to any marina and get a boat in. The food was phenomenal, staff were attentive, air conditioning was strong, beds were beyond comfortable- it really feels like a home away from home. Showers are Luke warm at best- but it’s refreshing after being in the hot sun. Out the back is a two minute walk to the beach where Blue Apple resort is. The hotel can also organize a boat trip to the Rosario islands and playa Blanca for you- but doing so in advance is better! Thomas at he front desk was an amazing help and since the hotel is not too big- the service is attentive. Nice pool and beautiful view of the ocean. I would note that absolutely no one speaks English and there is wifi so if you don’t speak Spanish- google translate is your best friend.

Brilliant stay

Stayed here for 2 nights with my partner. We had an amazing time here in Isla real. The location is simply amazing with views overlooking the sea and the island tucked away from busy cartagena life. The staff were fabulous always on hand to help us with anything we may have needed,including organising us a private boat transfer back to catagena. Our room was beautiful with excellent AC and very comfortable. The food was also amazing! Thanks so much for the incredible stay!
