Cheap and clean
Excellent value for overnight stay to catch cruise ship at nearby walking distance cruise ship terminal. Pre-booked single rate for room at $40.00/night. Room very basic, almost spartan but clean. Sheets smelled freshly washed. Staff friendly but Spanish speaking only.

Over priced and disappointing
I had one night at this property and had booked and paid for a room with large bed and breakfast. Check-in is not until 1500 and even then the room had not been serviced properly: I had to go hunting for hand and bath towels. I found some clean ones in a room still being serviced ... and then two more were delivered about 1700. The sheets were clean enough but the blankets on the beds were very tired and not terribly clean. Mt room (104 on first floor) had a window that opened onto a filthy outside of broken glass and scores of cigarette butts. There were insects - tiny cockroaches? - in the bathroom and in my bed. The night club was a little noisy - but not too intrusive. At 0730 there was no breakfast available - and no milk for the coffee served in the lobby. Cannot recommend this place for the price it charged.

Avoid Colon!
Rooms and bathrooms were not really clean, I'd have expected better at these rates. Breakfast was supposed to be included but it was just a sausage in a plain, dry bun and not very good coffee. The WiFi connection never worked in the room and it was on and off downstairs. To go up to the rooms you needed a special code which wasn't given to you so the staff had to let you in every time. You had to go up some stairs to reach the lift behind one of them glass screens. Colon is the worst city I've ever seen and, by the sounds of it, also one of the world's most dangerous, as everyone said you couldn't even walk round the corner in daylight! One taxi driver said the day before our arrival an 11 year old girl had been killed after getting caught in crossfire between two rival gangs shooting at each other! The city streets look like something out of a horror movie, with the exception of the Free Zone and area near the cruise ship port, which was the reason for going there. Avoid and stay in Panama City instead.

quaint old world hotel with Panamanian flavor
The Hotel is an historic building is pretty good condition being improved and repaired to keep it in good shape. Luigi is the owner and he is very helpful and attentive. This is a good place if you wind up in Colon after dark like we did driving up from Panama City, visiting Ft San Lorenzo, eating and then not wanted to drive back to Panama City in the dark, Luigi will put your car In a locked parking area. And he will escort you to your room. Simple accommodations but comfortable enough (pillows need work). But hot shower and breakfast is available in the restaurant downstairs. The hallways are filled with Spanish conversation but it eventually quiets down.

Looks nice but VERY bad town, Noisy, DARK
Maryland hotel looks nice from outside and isn't too bad when you go in BUT everything goes downhill when you get a room. The rooms are small and the celing light is so dim you can't see your keyboard. That's not a big problem because the "Free WiFi" is so weak and eratic that you can't connect enough for any purpose. The Elevator requires you to go down three steps to get to, then down a full flight of stairs to get from it to the second foor. Why have an elevator if you have to use stairs to get to it? The halls outside the elevtor have NO lighting so it's easy to fall and get hurt at night. The people at the hotel told us NOT to walk anywhere, even across the park, to get to the mini-mart. The crime there is unbeleavable. The "Free Zone" is a rip off. Higher prices than the the duty free shops at the airport plus a minimum of $15.00 to ship your purcheses to the airport so you acn pick them up on your way out of thr country.
