  Great and Friendly Beach/Surf Town

  This was my first time to Huatulco and it was great! The staff was super knowledgeable about getting us a rental car, surfboards, local dining and drinks. The beds were really comfortable. They were so comfortable, my friends had to wake me up to get us going out the door. We shared a beautiful two bedroom suite on the third floor with an amazing balcony and chill pool. The main pool was great too. It's a swim-up bar type of pool rather than a diving pool which really lends itself to the beach vibe of the town. It was also a great central location to visit different beaches and towns within an hour or two. TLDR: Price was right for lodging and food in the area, great staff, great room, great location.

  Great location, great hotel, great surfing!

  I just got back from 8 nights at Hotel Plaza Huatulco and loved every minute of the trip. The hotel employees were friendly, attentive, and always happy to help answer questions or offer suggestions. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious and offered great WiFi and cold AC. The onsite pool (with swim up pool bar) was the perfect place to lounge after a morning surf, and plenty of palm trees offered shade and a great place for a hammock. There was a restaurant and convenience store onsite, and plenty of other shopping restaurants, beach stores, souvenirs, coffee shop) within walking distance. Surfing was the main reason for my visit and this location was great, with ample breaks within an hour and a half both north and south. While many people come to Oaxaca for Puerto Escondido's famous wave, I enjoyed the waves down south a lot more with plenty of unnamed dirt roads giving way to empty point breaks. There's a wave less than 10 minute away that worked every day, with a couple of casual seaside restaurants serving cold beer and fresh fish. There is easy beach access just a short walk from the hotel, or if you have a car all of Huatulco's beautiful bays and beaches are just a 5-20 minute drive.

  Draco's Castle

  Everything was great. The staff is super friendly, accomodating, and always available. The pool and Draco, mascot of Hotel Plaza Huatulco, put an exclamation mark on the whole experience. Also, for the surfers, the area is quite accessible with many different types of breaks from different beaches. You may hire a guide at the Hotel to show you around. Enjoy!

  Nightmare

  The worst place to stay, pictures are not what really this place is. Old mattresses, old furniture, not clean at all.Kitchenette is old and utensils from a thrifty store.The AC not functional and they advertise free cable and Wifi both are a joke couldn't connect or watch anything. The staff only one person that the only thing he tried was to collect more money after moving us three times because the other rooms were with a wet bed and the AC did not work.We move to another hotel not caring if we will risk to loose the advance payment for 9 days.

  happy traveler

  everything was fine, just the room doesn't look , likr the internet site pictures, overall good experience i did not like the pool too many mosquitos, but i will recomended to other travelers and friends.
