Feb 20, 2025Stay away from Hyatt
I will not recommend this place. It takes 2 elevators to go to your room and 3 elevators if you are staying in club floor. Also checkin process is very long. I won't stay here again. It was not worth the money I spent. Only nice experience was the pool

Feb 17, 2025Unpleasant and totally unnecessary treatment at check in
Basically scammed into paying for tax for the stay, despite being a tourist. I informing the ‘duty supervisor’ that as a tourist, the IVA tax was not applicable, and did not need to be paid. He seemed to enjoy showing off in front of other female check in staff, to the point where he said ‘..if you don’t pay you can’t stay’. Thoroughly unpleasant individual who left a bad taste throughout the trip. Stayed in 3 other Hyatts during this trip and all correctly charged for the stay, apart from Cartagena.

I took the trip with my infant son. The hotel was close to everything. It had a mall next door and a supermarket behind it. It was a 15-minute walk to the wall city or a 7-minute drive. The customer service was great, and the food was great. I enjoyed the kids' pool with my son. The water wasn't too deep. He enjoyed it. The view from the rooms and pool area were breathtaking. I felt safe at all times.

A Colossal Gem in Cartagena!
As a Globalist, I've stayed many Hyatt properties. This one far exceeded my expectations. The service is excellent and concierge is top-notch. I was treated very well for my Hyatt loyalty and I appreciated it. Globalists have special check-in on the 30th floor at the club lounge and the lounge is very nice. Please treat yourself and visit the spa. The couples suite is expansive and the services are super relaxing and affordable. Soaking in the jacuzzi with a cocktail while facing the ocean was perfect! We used points (only 60k for 5 nights!) and a suite upgrade to the Ocean View Regency Suite. Plenty of space and looks exactly like the website photos. Huge king bedroom. I loved the walk in closet area, sunken tub, massive shower, and double sinks in the vanity. Bonus powder room in the living room came in extra handy as well. You can't beat it at the 12k points per night rate. The beach is steps away, and yes there are a lot of local vendors and the water/sand is dark but they are still very nice. There are two pools with a bar/restaurant and a serene view of the ocean. Minor irritants - the scent pumped through lobbies is too strong and the towels aren't really Regency quality, but that is no big deal. The only real drawback about this property is that it's ocean front with no balconies and no windows that open. The floor to ceiling window view is gorgeous, however being in an ocean front room without the ability to step outside and hear the waves, smell the salt, and feel the ocean breeze was the worst! It's the only thing that could keep us from staying there again should we return to Cartegena.

Great stay
The room was very clean and was fully stocked with goodies every day. Everyone at the hotel was very helpful and friendly. The location was great and within walking distance to the Walled City. There were also many restaurants within walking distance. The beach is directly accross the street.
