If you're going to charge $50+ a plate at a restaurant, learn what is in foods and how to accommodate for allergies. Educate your people about the allergies as it is life or death for some people. Terrible experience, will never return. Plenty of other hotels that have great service and amenities in the area that aren't 100% uncharged because they have 5 star in their name.

My husband and I took a trip to this Hyatt location and had a wonderful time! Our room was ocean view and could not have been nicer. The room was larger than expected, the mattress was so comfortable and loved the shower. We sat on the extra-large balcony every morning and evening. The pool was awesome, LOVED the swim-up bar! We will be back!

Jan 27, 2025Not sure how this is a 5 star hotel besides the architecture and landscaping
I had high expectations coming into a 5 star hotel. Immediately upon arrival, we had to wait in line to check in for at least 30 minutes. We received two complimentary drinks upon check in and the complimentary drink of the day had grapefruit in it. I am allergic to grapefruit and unfortunately, they were not able to provide another complimentary option. We had spa services scheduled and they were phenomenal. I had the Mint Espresso Break Body Scrub with the Vichy shower. Such a nice experience! However, the hot tubs for the spa were not very hot (maybe 85-90 degrees). Lots of walking at this resort so be prepared! No fridge in the room, only a beverage cooler. No coffee in the room, only an espresso machine. The architecture and landscaping were incredible! Restaurant portions were small with an included gratuity. Customer service was not great. Concierge was not helpful.

Beautiful resort, wonderful staff
I was a little skeptical after reading some reviews , but ended up really enjoying an 8 day stay. The rooms and grounds were very clean, the food was good. Breakfast buffet is massive. We ate ar I understand 10:30 each day and didn't end up having lunch. Steak, and hibachi restaurants were excellent. Italian and Puerto Rican were okay. All prices are high, but what you expect at a resort. My only complaint is every restaurant was freezing and if you didn't bring a sweater or jacket it was uncomfortable. We didn't golf, but the course looked awesome. There are picked ball and tennis courts and they loan you rackets and balls. Plenty of people took advantage of kayaks. There's a free outside yoga class on Sunday. Ping pong, bean bag toss and daily craft activities for children. There are loaner bikes there were several conferencea, conventions and private parties the whole time there so often music each night outside. It didn't bother us where we were staying. We didn't use the pools, but the week we were there, they were not crowded. We spent each day at the beach which always had a pleasant breeze. The beach itself is marginal. A bit rocky and only clear for a few feet before a lot of seaweed. We did not have water shoes, but that would have helped to go farther out . The staff at all the restaurants and bars were exceptional. Housekeeping was great. Be prepared with a rental car if you want to leave the premises. It is a good 10 minute drive to get to main road. We went to San Juan one day, the rainforest and another hotel with a casino. All under 30 minutes. I was the recipient of a massive amount if bug bites , whixhbthey warn you about with packages of off in the room . I should have listened All in all a great stay and we will definately be going back.

The food and drinks were very good. The view and pools were also great. The food service, however, was definitely lacking. Maybe it is the automatic 16% gratuity on all food and drink purchases, but the service left lots to be desired. Either forgetting items that were ordered (asking if we wanted the check and I had not received my food yet) and having to call room service twice because they only brought 1 of 4 items that I ordered. Stuff like that.
