Friendly and convenient beach resort for surfing and shopping

As part Polynesian, I love the warmth and beauty of this very Hawaiian, very local beach resort. Most staff there were locals and they are very friendly and welcoming (and they danced to the tune with great hula moves too). They made us feel us we were home away from home. We loved the for dancing and hula dancing show some evenings at the hotel atrium. We also enjoyed the farmers markets within the hotel twice/week. The regency club was super helpful in answering all our questions regarding certain activities, sports and restaurants that we were interested in. The location is also perfect, just across the street from the beach. It’s overall a happy place for family vacations or honeymoon.

Well appointed hotel on the beach

We enjoyed the hotel quite a bit. Very nice proximity to the beach, nice chairs to take with you, lovely staff. Preferred club breakfast was good, hors doerves were ok. General manager Eron Hodges and the housekeeping staff greeted us with a delightful birthday treat. Should we return to Waikiki, we would definitely stay here again!

    Hide Regency Waikiki consistent

Have been a repeat customer at this hotel for more than 20 years. Always very consistent helpful and courteous. Herbert Regency club breakfast needs substantial improvement in the menu. Should be offered alternative hot choices. Would like to see the return of complimentary headsets available in the fitness Centre

Great ubication, clean but need more info given.

Best location, good instalations, the only complaint is that the description makes one think that the beach is on the beach and it is divided by the street, also we didnt know if there was a beach club or if they lend chair and umbrellas. Great service from the staff and very clean.

    Very dated hotel

There's some pros to this hotel location is good even though it's not directly on the ocean it's within walking distance of a lot of Waikiki better restaurants. If you have been to other Hyatt Regency, you will be very disappointed that this hotel is called a Hyatt Regency. It does not deserve that name. A lot of the rooms have been recently renovated, but mine they literally just painted over the wallpaper and the wallpaper is pulling up all over the place. The exterior of the building is in pretty rough shape more specifically the towers. No a lot of Hawaii visitors have been to multiple islands. If you've been to the Maui Hyatt Regency have that hotel in mind when booking this do not the two properties could not be any more different. I'm not saying you shouldn't stay here, but definitely look at the other hotels in the same price range, I think you're gonna get a lot more bang for your book somewhere else
