A cold highrise hotel across the street from a great beach --with a wonderful staff

This is an old hotel and a high rise at that. Hyatt has worked hard in maintaining the facilities and our room was huge. But still it shows its age. Being in the hotel is like being in any high rise hotel in any city. There are no real common areas aside from an atrium with a waterfall and lots of concrete. And while the beach is across the street, getting there takes effort, more effort than a "resort" should require. The easily accessible pool area is nice and great for kids. Our partial view of the beach, clearly explained in the reservation form, was grand except that we also faced the noisy atrium with its waterfall (mercifully turned off at night) and lot of air-con equipment. It was a bit like Manhattan hotel with one of the world's great beaches across the street. The staff was wonderful, kind, helpful, cheerful. But the facility, in the end, was a disappointment. I'd not come back.

    Great first visit to Hawaii!

We loved this place! The staff are amazing and very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had! We had an ocean view high floor room and our view was spectacular. While this is an older hotel, it is well maintained and our room and everything around was nice and clean. The location is perfect, right across from the beach and in the heart of all the things! We could walk everywhere and did not have a need for a car. They have an onsite laundry available for you to use, which we took advantage of and didn’t have to pack as much stuff. We spent about 10.00, which included the detergent and bounce we bought at the ABC store. We also loved the atrium area with shops, coffee, etc that is directly below the lobby. We booked all our excursions through the hotel concierge and we had no problems. We definitely would come back!

    Great staff and location

Location was excellent - easy walk to the beach and restaurants. The rooms were clean, comfortable and of good size. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Being able to check out beach chairs was a nice perk. Two different coffee options in the hotel as well

We keep coming back to Hyatt Regency Waikiki, and that's a good thing!

This was probably our 4th or 5th visit here at Hyatt Regency Waiikiki, We are huge Hyatt fans, and HR Waikiki is unbeatable. The location is right across the street from the beach. It's easily near lots of restaurants and shops. Prior to our arrival, we received an email from Alaina who recognized our upcoming return visit. We stayed in touch with her because I wanted to make our visit to be extra special. My wife and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this year, and this is one of the many vacations we planned on gifting ourselves. We are Hyatt Globalists, and with our status, we were very fortunate to be given Oceanfront Two Queen Beds. We had two of our kids with us, and this room was just fantastic. There were no obstructions. It was our room and the ocean was directly right in front of us. It was breathtaking. The sunsets were just breathtaking. The Regency has a pool area, but we didn't really get to use the pool. The weather was fantastic during our stay, and the ocean was our pool. We were able to borrow beach chairs and towels for us to bring to the beach. Since we booked using Hyatt points, our valet parking was included with our booking, and the valet staff were always helpful and prompt despite the hotel being so packed and busy with guests. We also visited the Regency Club (for Hyatt Globalists and those with Club Access). It was good to have access to the food and drinks. The crew at the club ensured that the food and drinks were always kept full, and they made sure to help take the dishes that have been used. HR Waikiki remains as a favorite for the family, along with Hyatt Place Waikiki. Whenever we want to feel close to the ocean, and want to have a room with great oceanviews. HR Waikiki is our choice. I want to say a special thanks for Alaina for making herself available and for staying in touch with us to make sure that our needs were cared for. Thanks again, HR Waikiki...until next time.

    Amazing hotel!

The hotel exceeded our expectations. From the room, the view, and the cleanliness all was top notch! Grace had the best customer service and was beyond kind and helpful. Wish everyone had a Grace! The food from The Shor Restaurant was so good and the view was Waikiki Beach Front!
