Great time at Montego Bay Hyatt Zilara
Rooms were big and well kept, gym was super, food was good and entertainment also. Beach has rocks and also rocks in first part when you go into the water. When you go with a package and transportation is included - try to avoid as they pick you up very early on departure as they stop at several resorts.

Some great, Some OK and a lot of bad....
This place is rundown and needs to be upgraded/updated immediately!!! I cannot believe Hyatt will allow this property to remain open in its current state! The plumbing issues alone are ridiculous! It was so bad that they had a 3-4 hour total property water shutdown one day to address a water main issue. We called to address low water pressure and a leaking faucet. The nice man came and told us he fixed both. Nope! That faucet was still leaking when we left! Also, for two days, the bathrooms in the lobby were not functional due to no water to flush or wash your hands. Don't get me started on the electrical and how only two outlets worked in our room (one in the bathroom and one near the bed). Made it hard to two people to charge our devices daily. The food is average and the service in some of the restaurants is slow and inconsistent. Staff appear to be unhappy and I can see why... they are on the frontline of all of the complaints about this rundown property! Way too expensive for what you get. With that said, I will say, the staff overall were awesome. The cleaning of our room was well done each day. I want to thank Kamal for his kindness and attentiveness to us everyday! He is a gem! The coffee shop staff and those working the lobby and pool areas were awesome, friendly, funny and kind. If it wasn't for the staff, this place would be in big trouble!! I am glad to see many people love this property and it goes to show not all travelers are equal. There are just some things I expect to work when I travel because if not, the vacation is not restful when you have to manage basic things. I will never return to the Zilara or any Hyatt property again because I know what I can get for the money I paid and it is way better than what I experienced. Also, this property is scheduled to undergo renovations soon and the expectation is that they will stay open during this time. Just be aware...

A Disastrous Stay - Not Even Close to 5 Stars!
I had high hopes for this hotel, but unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. The hotel is far from meeting the standards of a luxury resort. The facilities are outdated, and the overall condition of the property is in desperate need of maintenance. I can't fathom how this place has a 5-star rating. It certainly doesn't deserve it. As for the room, the toilet flush was broken on arrival which rendered it completely unusable. This is an essential feature for any hotel, let alone one that claims to be a 5-star resort. Eventually they moved us to another room but precious time was wasted waiting for the room to be available for us to then repack and unpack our belongings. There was also a water issue during our stay which meant the water was shut off for several hours too. To make matters worse, we had to suffer at the hands of abusive staff members at the buffet. We asked for a table to accommodate for our party of 8 on several occasions to be met with downright rude responses. When we further the questioned the matter, my sister was actually physically abused by the staff member. We were in utter shock - never have I seen such disgusting behaviour at a 5 star resort of all places. We escalated the matter to the managers of the hotel who were completely unhelpful and tried turning the blame on us. Kaye and Stefan (the two members of staff we were dealing with) made us feel dismissed and belittled during our interaction, which was completely unprofessional and uncalled for. Their refusal to help, condescending attitude and lack of basic hospitality left us feeling unwelcome and frustrated. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs. There are far better options out there that actually know how to treat guests and provide basic amenities.

Great resort
The staff was wonderful from check in to check out. My housekeeper Stacy was such a pleasure! The room was perfect the entire resort is great and I would go back. The food is fresh and prepared perfectly. Great presentation as well. The entire resort was kept do clean and the pools were just perfect.

Disappointing
You would think with a brand like “Hyatt” this hotel would be in better shape. The grounds and level of consistency were a total disappointment. The building itself is in total disrepair…wood rot, crumbling stucco, roof shingles missing, rubbish (water bottles, trash) EVERYWHERE. We had to switch rooms due to the nightly club thumping and inability to sleep and the room decor was completely inconsistent. Pillows missing on sofa, floor lamp missing, sink and tub hardware disconnected and missing, tv did not rotate so you could view from bed (like the first room). I get it, the food will be mid in an all-inclusive and it was. Service staff was less than welcoming across the board with very few exceptions. Most staff on their phones and resented being disturbed. Some positives: plenty of seating at pool and beach, beds comfortable.
