Relaxing time just what we needed

Just returned from Tenerife Sábila Hotel. Had a wonderful time relaxing in the sun. All the staff in the hotel were excellent. Special mention to Pedro from the bar he went above and beyond to make our stay special engaging with us and made us laugh with his many tricks making us special cocktails. The animation team were fantastic Sara, Andrew and Christian thank you for keeping us entertained. We loved the robots in the restaurant never seen this before we named one of them ‘Trevor’ Big shout out to Santiago around the pool what a job you had trying to keep the peace with the booking of the sun beds you deserve a medal. The staff kept our room clean and tidy daily they worked very hard.

A most relaxing and enjoyable experience

We had a most relaxing and enjoyable week at this splendid hotel. The check in went very smoothly and we were given a thorough explanation of the facilities. Our room was very comfortable and well equipped. We had excellent sea views and easy access to the premier star lounge and pool. The pool was of a reasonable size and from the balinese beds we had splendid sea views. There was a wide range of snacks available in the lounge. The choice of food for breakfast and dinner was up to the usual very high Iberostar standard and we were always well looked after by Jesus who was a credit to the hotel. The activities available were varied and interesting. We enjoyed the necklace making workshop by Rosanna (?) and were very impressed by the many contribution by Sara whose language lessons and bracelet making courses were very good. Worthy of particular mention was the massage we both had in the spa. Here we met Lucia and Noel and we are happy to report that the massage they gave us was probably the best massage we have ever had. Not quite sure how often the local market is held but it was particularly good. It may seem rather churlish to mention this after such a wonderful experience but we do not think that the hotel has solved the problem posed by the selfish guests who enter the premier lounge sun bed area, put their towels on the most desirable beds and then disappear only to return two hours later. Difficult to know what you can do about this and it was only a minor irritant. Let us end on a positive note by thanking everyone at the hotel for being so friendly and helpful and for providing us with such a wonderful experience that we have already booked up for next year.

    Rooms NOT 5 star

Staff were amazing, very friendly, helpful, couldn’t do enough for you. Hotel had lots of activities throughout the day from yoga to aloe Vera workshop to salsa dancing lessons. Breakfast was very good, so much variety and excellently laid out. They had 2 sittings to choose from 7.30-8.30 & 9.15-10.30 the later sitting was much busier. However I didn’t feel they were precious about when you arrived. Location is verging on chavy. Lots of looky looky men everywhere. Massage parlours and a 24 hour sex shop opposite hotel entrance. They have a something called Prestige that comes at a premium, where guests rooms are on the 5th and 6th floors. They have a separate breakfast area and separate sun lounger area. Seems inappropriate and unnecessary as the other guests have paid for a so say 5 star holiday experience. My husband and I liked to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day by the pool bar area, seating overlooks a car park and fun pub but you can see the sea on the horizon. Disappointingly some guests thought it’s ok to smoke standing up right next to your table engulfing you in unwanted cigarette smoke and ash blowing in the breeze. Very unpleasant. There needs to be just one designated smoking area that is out of the way of other guests. Room was very disappointing, definitely NOT 5 star quality. Our room was kitted in what looked like a static caravan interior full of chipped MDF. Two beds pushed together! Sliding wardrobe doors kept coming off their tracks. And shower door did not close properly, so water leaked across floor. There were fixed each time we reported them.

    Go for the prestige

We have just finished 10 days at this lovely hotel. After reading reviews we chose to upgrade to star prestige when we checked in. We were shown the room and all facilities of prestige by a lovely member of staff. Would highly recommend this upgrade. We loved the roof top pool and the bar. We had lunch there everyday - one suggestion maybe to try and vary the snacks available, although tasty it does become repetitive. The gym is excellent and thoroughly enjoyed Sara’s Pilates and aqua classes. The bed was very comfy, rooms are spotless with towels changed twice a day. The selection of food for breakfast was so wide and varied. We particularly enjoyed the oysters on Valentine’s Day and liked the separate eating area for prestige guests. We ate one night in the Gourmet Market and found the food to be good too. As we went out for dinner every night we didn’t really watch the evening entertainment, but found the bar area to be rather unwelcoming in the layout. As other reviews have mentioned all staff are a credit to the hotel and management. Thank you for an enjoyable stay
