Five Visits and counting :)
We have been at this resort 5 times since 2013. This time we stayed 10 days and once again went with the Prestige Club option. Room - Our room was spectacular on the top floor overlooking the ship. The cleaning service was excellent. Attention to detail was always perfectly executed. Grounds – Spectacular as always. The landscapers work hard keeping the grounds so well maintained it is breathtaking. We enjoy the size of this hotel as everything is within easy walking distance. New - A new edition since the Joia name is the coffee shop. It’s great with nice variety! Another change are the wristbands, they now activate you room access instead of carrying a key card. Brilliant idea! Entertainment – So glad the shows are back at night in the theatre. There is also nightly entertainment at the lobby bar and outdoor ship area. One evening we were treated to the Dominican Independence festivities and it was perfect to watch from our balcony. Food and Restaurants – Amazing. Our only issue was with the Japanese restaurant this time which was a surprise. We chose to eat outside instead of with a group table inside. My main dish was ice cold. The staff at the Japanese were a bit unattentative. The other restaurants were excellent. The service absolutely exceptional! It is true that reservations are required at only two restaurants whereas before you could make reservations at each restaurant at a particular time. In one case we had to wait just 15 minutes for the Italian Restaurant. No worries! We had a drink at the lobby bar and they informed you via WhatsApp. The breakfast buffet is excellent with lots of variety. Of note – Samuel, Jasiel and Carlos (breakfast and evening restaurants). These gentlemen work so hard to make sure everything is perfect while bustling between tables and guests. All with a huge smile! Prestige Club – The ladies at the club were always helpful. Special shout out to Shester. Also thank you to Christian at the front desk. Butlers - Reynaldo and Cofe. These guys were so great. You can always tell when people are real and these guys were the real deal. Any request is never too small where they were concerned, they were so helpful in every way. Beach – Since we’ve done Prestige we have the pleasure of having Augusto at the Beach area making amazing drinks, keeping our cabanas comfortable and always making sure we were attended to. He runs everything perfectly with great attention to detail. Now Mayjerix is working alongside him – she always has a smile on her face while working hard. The beach itself is perfect. If there is seaweed the groundskeepers have two special machines that scoop it up very early in the morning. I was walking one morning at 6 am and they were already at work. When you walk on the beach and see the other resorts you will see why the architecture of this resort stands out. We have been asked what resort this is because of its beauty. We are beach people and don’t use the pool, but it seems like a very popular area with a party like atmosphere. One mention – Over the last 12 years we have always enjoyed the 45+ vibe. It seems that with the memberships, people can have their adult children there. We feel that although Iberostar cater to everyone we found that the party atmosphere is spilling over into the quiet restaurants. In one case the staff put a group of about 18 on the other side of the restaurant but it felt more like a night at a pub instead of a quiet dinner. This is bound to happen we realize but what can they do about it? It’s everyone’s vacation, it would be helpful if all guests remembered that. Room Service – Excellent! Not a problem with anything. Overall Experience – We realize things change with time but we also realize that you get what you pay for. This resort is our perfect vacation in Punta Cana and will be in the future. We know what to expect.

Above and beyond service
This truly was an unforgettable trip! Houston, our butler, was so helpful and made my birthday special by going above and beyond by decorating the room. I have been to all inclusives before and I can easily say this one was the best. All of the staff were so kind and attentive and we will definitely be back!

Sorry's don't work when paying this much money and sometimes you're better to stick with old memories.
Don't come here based on fond memories. 8 years ago this place was fabulous. Everything is different. We are on day 2 of a 5 day stay.At 2:30pm, check in was nearly one and q half hours. Went to dinner around 7:30. No tables at our first choices (they no longer take reservations). Plenty of apologies and I'm sorry's. Wound up in a restaurant where few others wanted to be (as evidenced by the small crowd). During dinner, waiter dropped a tray in my lap. Fortunately it only had water on it. Should have taken the buffet as the last choice. Went to the cigar bar and picked a cigar based on being informed (on this site) that the cigars were part pf the all inclusive. Not so, but it was a good $30 cigar (later comped by a caring manager). Today, we were lucky to learn early that 2 restaurants and the buffet are closed tonight. Going to be a lot of unhappy people. Went to the room this afternoon to take a shower, only to learn that there is no water pressure. Everybody is quick to apologize and say I'm sorry, but at this price point, these issues shouldn't be an issue. We're here for 4 more nights. I'm not optimistic that things will get better. If you're reading this, maybe pick someplace else that say's they are almost 5 star and not hope that the place you stay is as good as it used to be.

Our stay at JOIA Bávaro by Iberostar was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and a level of hospitality that made us feel truly special. Impeccable Grounds and Stunning Pools The resort itself is breathtaking—immaculately maintained with lush tropical landscaping that enhances the serene atmosphere. The pools are a true highlight, offering crystal-clear waters, plenty of comfortable loungers, and a perfect mix of relaxation and fun. Whether you’re taking a refreshing dip or sipping a cocktail poolside, the experience is pure bliss. Pristine Beaches The beachfront at JOIA Bávaro is paradise. The soft, powdery sand and turquoise waters create an idyllic setting for relaxation. Whether we were lounging under a palapa, taking a peaceful stroll, or simply enjoying the ocean breeze, every moment by the beach was magical. Exceptional Staff and Personalized Service The service at JOIA Bávaro is second to none, and the staff truly made our experience extraordinary. Our butler, Valentin, went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our stay was perfect. He was attentive, friendly, and always available when we needed anything. Our housekeeper, Romairy, kept our room immaculate and made sure we always came back to a fresh and comfortable space. We also have to give a special mention to Smiley and Yelli, who were always so happy, helpful, and full of positive energy. Their kindness and enthusiasm made every interaction with them a joy! Culinary Delights and Refreshing Drinks The food and drinks at JOIA Bávaro exceeded our expectations. Every meal was a culinary delight, with fresh ingredients and a variety of flavors that catered to every craving. From gourmet dining experiences to casual beachfront bites, the quality and presentation of the food were outstanding. And the drinks? Absolutely perfect—expertly crafted cocktails and refreshing beverages were always served with a smile. Overall Experience Everything about JOIA Bávaro by Iberostar was beyond amazing. From the stunning surroundings to the impeccable service and incredible staff, our stay was nothing short of perfection. We left feeling relaxed, pampered, and already planning our return. If you’re looking for a luxurious, unforgettable getaway in Punta Cana, this is the place to be! 10/10—Highly recommend!

Exceptional couples getaway
Six days and five nights was the perfect getaway for my husband and me. We had a swim out room which included butler service. Houston and Armando were exceptional, they went above and beyond helping us with everything- I have food allergies and they were super communicative with the restaurants to make sure I was safe. They also set up our room with jacuzzi and bubbles while we were out at dinner. They had a WhatsApp message that was super helpful each day to let us know what was going on in the hotel. Their service was an important part of our relaxing stay and we are already looking forward to coming back.
