Mar 13, 2025A good vibe with comfortable rooms
I really enjoyed this hotel and the room was pleasant and the bed was very comfortable. The staff also allowed a late checkout and for a small fee can stay a few more hours. My only complaint was the restaurant but was told that it had different ownership even though connected to the property. I would be happy to stay longer but the room rates are high alike the other hotels on the island. I also stayed in the northern part of Kauai in a timeshare but this hotel definitely has it's charms.

Nice Boutique Hotel
Nice little hotel with an old school vibe. It's small and you might actually get to know other guests which is nice. The beach is not really useful, but it's pretty. The pool is small and cold, but overall it's a fun place to stay. It's also right next to less expensive dining and grocery options.

Great honeymoon
Novella checked us in and she was amazing! This hotel checked all the boxes: bar, pool, beach front, located close to other restaurants but not crowded. Unpretentious! We liked going to the coconut market place and the coffee spot next door in the AM. I loved using the bikes and the morning yoga!

Loved this hotel and our overall experience with staff and property. Upon check in, staff member Novella was very helpful. She took the time to tell us all about the hotel amenities and about the island since it was our first time visiting Kauai. Found out that we had both lived in same town in California too! The hotel property was nicely manicured and loved that it was right on the beach! The pool and grassy areas were all kept up very well and we enjoyed the nightly live music playing at the bar while we lounged on the beach. The hotel restaurant Lava Lava was very good. We had dinner and breakfast there and both meals were very good with friendly service. Our room was very comfy and had everything we needed, and housekeeping kept it very clean and tidy each day. Location was perfect— right next to a shopping center that had everything we needed. Even an ABC Marketplace! Only issue we had was in the self parking lot cause all the spaces are extremely narrow and there is not even enough room to open car door to get out properly. Because of this, Our rental car was hit and bumper torn off on our 2nd night and no one even left a note! Needless to say, we used the valet rest of our visit so not to incur further damage! The valet is free, except for tipping. Other than that, we absolutely loved everything about this hotel!

Highly Recommend
My family and I had a staycation in March. The Kauai Shores is a perfect location to stay. My favorite thing was beaches, shops, and restaurants were walking distance. The staff were very helpful and kind. Overall I recommend on staying here.
