Feb 19, 2025This juice is not worth the squeeze
Poor service, tight quarters with a small resort and pool footprint that’s underwhelming from start to finish. If you come to Grand Cayman, just stay at the Ritz. We’ve stayed at both and the Ritz is by far better in terms of staff training and attentiveness to detail. An oceanfront room sits back behind the pool, well sorry but that’s called ocean facing. Anyone giving this place 5 stars simply hasn’t stayed at a 5 star place.

Feb 18, 2025Beautiful Property/Disappointing Service
Beautiful property, modern, lush grounds and stunning views. However, we were disappointed with the service. The first day there we weren't able to get a early check in (part of a program for early and late checkout) and our 1st experience at the beach was an unfriendly server. Then that same night at the beach restaurant the service was incredibly slow. Also, had issues with the concierge's desk not properly booking the correct boating destinations. Last, we wanted an additional 1 hour late check out for our flight and we were denied. Overall, it is a beautiful property and we had a lovely time. We just thought the overall service was ok (for a 5 star) and that the Ritz service was much better.

They don’t know how to keep reservation
Great property by the beach, well staffed and clean! We did have to relive the Seinfeld car reservation episode however. Unfortunately some staff need better training to learn how to keep reservation for clamshell cabana by the beach. We booked months in advance for Valentine’s Day with email confirmation but they gave to someone else!! What is so hard to manage a handful of clamshell cabana?? Amex platform prepaid booking is totally not worth it, over charged and over promised! “Suite” upgrade is a fairy tale not to be sold in the future. Whatever kimpton’s co maketing with Platinum Amex certainly didn’t not deliver this time. Certainly need to catch up with the service at the Riz, Kimpton!

Feb 10, 2025Amazing Staff, Breakfast Buffet and Dinners. Beautiful beach and warm water!
This was a wonderful vacation from Feb 1 - Feb 6. It was so Beautiful. So relaxing. The entire Staff was friendly and helpful and welcoming. We were upgraded to the most beautiful room we ever had. I agree with all the compliments other reviewers wrote, so I won't repeat. But the highlights for me were: The beautiful soft, sandy beach and the warm ocean water with no waves, so I was able to just walk right into the ocean (I don't like waves). No problem ever getting a chair or a blue mat floatie that I laid on for an hour each day in the ocean, gently floating, looking at the beautiful sunny sky. They also had 2 big floats in the water anchored down. 10-12 people could get on a float or stay in the water and hang onto the straps on the side. My husband preferred the pool, so I did spend time there, too, and that was also very nice. We ate at restaurants outside the hotel that were very good, however, my 2 favorite dinners were at the Kimpton Seafire. "Ave", our 1st night was absolutely incredible. The service (I'm sorry I forget the name of our wonderful waiter), and the food and the drinks were wonderful. It was a very special evening celebrating our 50th Anniversary. Oh! And there were fireworks after dinner that were incredible. It was a perfect, romantic evening. Our last night we ate at Avecita. Spanish cuisine from Spain. Again, we had an incredible waiter who made suggestions for us. The Pan con tomate, Berenjena Asada were incredible, as was the fish and dessert. Thanks to Mandy, the concierge who helped me plan our trip, dinners and activities by email 2 months ago. We did go to Stingray City, but mostly we just relaxed with a smile on our faces. We plan to return next year, same time, for a week. Thank you to the entire, exceptional staff.

Total Relaxation!
I must say that the staff, 100% make this place amazing! From the moment you arrive, the bellman is ready to open a door and take care of luggage. The welcome you received from the front desk was refreshing! My room was amazing, housekeeping wouldn't let any of our items touch the counter - they placed a towel on tables and counters (love). Complimentary coffee in the AM, complimentary wine in the PM. The pool staff all were attentive and pleasant. Complimentary sunblock and aloe too! Not a single associate wasn't pulling their weight. You could tell the staff were happy to work there. Not a bad seat at the pool or beach. Ensure you have cash with you - the majority of taxis take cash. But the bellman will assist you in getting a taxi that handles a credit card....bring AMEX of MC. Discover was not accepted.
