    Not worth your money!

Room: The room was okay. Spacious, but dirty and outdated. AC was working great. We had “semi” hot water, but no pressure. Couldn’t use our closet, the sliding doors were broken and extremely difficult to move. One day we didn’t get serviced even though we put the sign on our door handle. Also always had to call to get towels, as they would take the dirty ones when servicing, but wouldn’t put replacements. Towels were also very old, almost see through, same for the sheets and pillows on the bed. Housekeepers were always opening our door pretty early in the morning (7:30-8am), without knocking, holding a booklet and saying they had to do a “report”, still unsure what was that about. Service: Service at lobby was great and everything was well explained. Service everywhere else was terrible (restaurants, housekeeping, guest service, etc.) Nobody cared to help, nobody seems to want to work. *Even when we gave tips.* Food/Drinks: Food was terrible. At the buffet the choices were very limited and everything was cold. Servers looked like they didn’t want to be there, were doing everything to avoid you and avoid working. We were never served water unless we asked, we had to go get our own utensils, salt & pepper, etc. from the server station ourselves multiple times and nobody ever bothered to help seeing us coming or waving. The only good server we had at the buffet was Joel. For the “a la carte” restaurants, we only went to one and it was terrible, we didn’t bother to make other reservations afterwards. Drinks were pretty good, but we are not big “drinkers”. Entertainment: Non-existent. I think because lobby is currently being renovated, they don’t have anywhere to have shows/activities at night. Beach: Not my favourite. I don’t love it since you have to go down a flight of stairs to access it (but all resorts in this area seem to have this issue, it is just a personal preference). The beds were fun, but very crowded/too close to each other. Also wish there were long chairs as well to facilitate tanning, I did not see any. Pool: We only used the “adult only” pool, where they had beds and long chairs. We loved it there, was probably our favourite thing about the resort. Value: If you’re not a member/VIP, you won’t like it. Lots of restaurants/amenities you won’t have access to. You get the old stuff while they get the new. They get to reserve restaurants before you, so you are always last to choose. They get the fun stuff, you get nothing… It is to say thought that I also prefer smaller resorts where you don’t have to take shuttles to go places, but this is a personal preference once again. I’ve visited 5 different resorts in Puerto Plata and this is by far my worst experience, will definitely not be coming back!

    Sales Trap

If you're not a member of Lifestyle or their conglomerate, they will all but force you to be. Each day their "concierge" will wait for you outside the only food location you have for breakfast and lunch, and harass you until you go on a tour, offering no incentives in return like most places (Leo was our nightmare harrasser). We tried to bargin with him to get hot water turned on for our room, free safe access, or a non-leaky toilet room in return(bc apparently none of that was included in our all inclusive package). We finally have in to the tour to stop the ongoing harassment prior to receiving any room fixes (we assume it was a tactic to get us to buy in, as they showed us how members lived much higher quality than us non-members). My wife and I were so turned off to this place after that, that we left the fully funded All-inclusive early to go pay to stay somewhere else. Service wise, staff was great. Business wise...absolute nightmare.
