December Escape
The staff was very welcoming and inviting upon arrival. We had the best service and was treated so well. Rafael was very sweet and showed us around the property. Hannel was in the buffet and was very attentive and made the experience much more inviting. The staff as a whole working the buffet was warm and always greeted us with smiles. Abel gave an excellent presentation that was quite enticing. Kissys was the BEST masseuse I've ever had! The food was flavorful and delicious and the weather was beautiful! it was a nice sunny 70-75 degrees F. 10/10 experience and we can't wait to go back and bring even more of our family members.

Know what you are signing up for....Could be good for certain travelers but not all
My view: I do not love all-inclusive resorts. The are great for families and those who love to booze all day and night. This is from a perspective of someone who did an impulse trip last minute right after X-mas to get some sun and rest. I also went solo and I do not drink. So this review will not be helpful to everyone. The bottom line: There are things to love about this hotel but I do not think I will be returning. If I go back to Punta Cana it will be to Cap Cana (for the beach which is different than this beach). My rating: for an all-inclusive it is a 4/5 stars and as a resort in general-it is a 3.5/5 Luxury??? For an AI- I assume so. But when I think luxury, I assume the Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, Mandarin Oriental, St Regis, etc. This resort is NOT that kind of luxury and service. If you are expecting that, you will be very disappointed. Have your expectations in place before booking. The positives: -The grounds and design are really tasteful. The lobby smells like a spa-really nice. It has an modern, high-end look. The quiet pools are really pretty. Great design. -The room was nice. I had no issue with mine. Showing a little wear and tear but not bad. I had no issue with construction noise. It was between Xmas and New Years and at full capacity. -ROOM TIP: ask for an even building number BEFORE you arrive. Building 6 is great. I could see the sea from my balcony and I faced the garden on t he 3rd floor. These rooms face the garden (or the pools depending on what you book) and the construction is done. You will be overlooking another resort which is yet to open and a garden. The odd number building garden rooms are overlooking construction of a new Live Aqua for families. It is ugly. AVOID. If you are doing a swim up room- I find the garden view rooms in the even buildings the most private and nice. Besides the oceanfront suites, I think they are the nicest. I like privacy- -They use material bands that are much nicer than plastic and your room key is the band which is great. No room cards to lose. -The service for an AI seemed very good. There were some standouts but the service was also non-consistent. Sometimes top-tier and others times non-existent. Tipping 100% helps. Being from NYC, we tip of course. I saw a few people tip but not that many. But even with tipping, service was up and down. -The staff are generally very nice, friendly and kind. -As a solo traveler, I felt welcomed. I would have no hesitation as a solo traveler to come here. -The crowd was mainly 30-60s? Very nice. Not party animals. A higher-end/quieter crowd compared to other AIs. -Coffee Shop is nice to have -The beach service was really good on certain days and very slow on others -nice beach but not as nice as other areas of Punta Cana The cons -No welcome drink or anything-I don't care but just mentioning it. Others had drinks. Inconsistent. I also did not get harassed by the vacation club which was nice! -My minibar was not serviced before I checked into my room. There was an opened part empty orange soda in my minibar. They did not check it or stock it. -service was just spotty. Sometimes I got turn down service and other times I did not. Sometimes the beach service was great and others times not at all. -I did not like the food but this may be because I do not like food in AIs so I want to be fair- I have has way worse food than this place in an AI but I also can't rave about it. I am from NYC. We are food snobs so I feel we are very critical of most food. I felt the food was the same everywhere. The Asian restaurant was the best for dinner (spring rolls and noodles). I had a decent steak and the French place. Another person told me their steak was not good from the French place. The breakfast buffet is nice but it is the same very single morning. They make smoothies and have fresh juices which is nice. The bacon is cooked well which is a plus but besides omelets, there is nothing hot breakfast food-wise (except some off crepes). The French toast and pancakes sit under a heat lamp and are not edible- I tried twice to eat them and gave up. They should make them to order. -Skip the sushi in the Asian restaurant if you are from NYC or CA or are used to very good sushi. You will not like it. -The fish tacos were good at the beach lunch place on one day and not the second time I got them. I did not love the ceviche but it was edible. Others seemed to love it. That place needs way more tables. It is not cool to make people wait upwards of 35mins for table at lunch at an AI resort. The report was at full capacity. But they need to adjust for this. -The main pool is stunning but they play loud terrible music there day. I did not want to spend any time there which is sad because it is lovely looking. -I ordered a burger beachside- it was raw. I could not eat it. Another day., I ordered wings and they were decent but the 7 smallest wings I ever saw. It was a decent snack but not a full lunch. I advise ordering two orders if it is your lunch-these are not US size wings. I basically gave up on the food and opted to not get off the beach to spend 1 to 1.5 hours over lunch . I just ate salsa and chips on the beach and enjoyed the water and weather. -to get a good spot on the beach- you have to get up early ( like 6:15-6:45am). I am not kidding. The best chairs are taken by 7am-7:30am. All chairs were gone by 8am. I think some people save them the night before? I was up anyway for a morning walk but this is annoying. They need more beach chairs. TIP: It you slip the morning towel guy a tip, he may offer to save you a chair so you do not have to set your alarm. -They also ran out of towels one day. This should never happen at this price point. -Language barrier- some staff did not understand much English. A little surprising at this price point but they are pleasant and really try which counts. -Beach is nice for walking, quiet, clean and well maintained. I did not see any seaweed. It is on the Atlantic so there are waves. It is not the calm Caribbean Sea. But the waves sound great and if you like waves the water is nice. -Saturday night there is an outside disco party on the beach. The music was terrible. I asked them when it would stop and they said 10:30pm. It stopped at 11pm. I was most grateful. It was outdoors and the echo was insanely loud if you were in building 6. It is only Sat night. -The halls are tile and very loud. You can hear people at night after drinking and coming home but more common is you hear the staff in the morning. It you want to sleep in, this may bother you. I have no idea if the VIP service is worth it. The beach for them looked the same. The resort is so small so I can't imagine it worth it but maybe I am wrong. Overall- I can see many people enjoying this place if an all adults AI is your thing. They really try and it is very pretty property. I had a very nice time. If I ever come back to the DR, I will try Secrets in Cap Cana which has the nicest beach in the DR. Since food is important, it is unlikely I will do an AI again so it is not likely I will even do that. I hate when I hear, "Have no expectations on the food because it is an AI"....I do not want to know I am going to get average (at best) food before I even check in. For me, I would rather pay more and have the chance of having a great meal (like St Martin/St Barths).

Failure to refund credit card in a timely manner.
Went to Live Aqua November 11, 2024 and the following morning we had a presentation to view the property. After the sales pitch we signed up for the membership. After careful consideration we decided to withdraw the following morning. $2,759.80 was supposed to refunded back to our credit card but to no avail. It’s now December 31, 2024 and as of today it still hasn’t in good faith. Had a good time but beware of shady business practices.

Excellent experience
Loved how we were treated by Yandri and Berlin, they made us feel like family, they where super attentive to our requests and did everything they could to make our experience super great. I would go again, the rooms and pools are as shown in the website. The room service and house keeping where excelent.

Just average
Live Aqua was overall a nice resort but still has some kinks to work out. We were here from December 25-31st. We usually upgrade to the preferred rooms when we travel to all inclusive resorts. Some of the benefits of this are not waiting long for tables at dinner, lounge check in, private beach area, and access to the preferred lounge where the premium alcohol is. Butler service is also included, but our butlers were not of much use. We seen them the day we arrived and the day we left. We could chat with them through WhatsApp if they were needed. We had one hiccup this trip. Our airport transportation was never confirmed so when we arrived we ended up having to take a $70 taxi to the resort. I asked our butlers to help arrange our return transfer to the airport but they were no help with this and I had to figure it out on my own. Which I did. I also feel like we should have been compensated in some way since airport transfers are included in the cost. We never have high expectations for the food at all inclusive resorts. Food here was fair at best. We did like the Italian and the hibachi restaurants for dinner but the rest left a lot to be desired. Service here was almost always amazing. There were a few individuals that really made our trip pleasant. No one was ever unpleasant and everyone seemed to enjoy their jobs. Biggest complaint would be the breakfast staff not being very attentive even in the preferred section. The resort is very clean. We did have one day where our room wasn’t cleaned at all but otherwise housekeeping was good. We booked a swim out room but, which was nice and peaceful. The biggest complaint I have is the resort has a mosquito problem. We got ate alive and we seen so many people with so many bites on them. They do not fog for the mosquitoes and they do not sell off or bug spray in the gift shop. Bring bug spray with you! I’ve never had this bad of a mosquito issue anywhere and we’ve been to the DR 5 times. We had a deep tissue couples massage at the spa. It is way over priced and really just felt like oil was being rubbed all over my body. I’d recommend skipping the spa. Another issue was they seemed to have a beach towel shortage. We made sure to get our towels early, if you waited till the afternoon you were out of luck. While we were visiting there looked like there was construction going on but maybe because of the holiday they were not working on it. So it could be loud for a few months. Would we return, probably not..
