Loved Our Stay – Especially the Unique Experience!
We had an amazing time at Lopesan Costa Bávaro for our spring break! The resort is beautiful, and the experience overall was top-notch. A special shoutout to Andres, who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay—he really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We loved exploring the different restaurants, and Gondola quickly became one of our favorites. The food and service there were fantastic. We also highly recommend going for the Unique perks—totally worth it. The Unique Beach Club and the private beach area made the trip feel extra relaxing and exclusive. All in all, a great place to unwind, enjoy great food, and soak up the sun. We’d absolutely come back!

Excellent
Travelled with 15 family members from age 2 to 80+. All of us thoroughly enjoyed and thought the resort was very nice, well kept, decent food, rooms spacious and nice (king beds on 3rd and 4th floors). Waterpark great for kids with a splash pad too - adults can join in the waterpark slide fun. Kids loved the ice cream shop and Angel at the ice cream shop was always super friendly. We had read many concerning reviews about the food and beach before we left, however in our experience and opinion these were not accurate. Food was very decent and good when compared to other 4+ star resorts we have visited in Punta Cana before. Many reviews had us concerned about being able to book reservations for restaurants. As a large group, since we were flexible in booking reservations in smaller groups at varying times, this was not at all an issue for us. We were able to book a reservation each night we were there. With that said, it is unclear whether this was because our 7 night booking was from a Tuesday to Tuesday vs. a Saturday to Saturday. There were many boats near the beach, but they were parked well outside of the swimming area. Furthermore, they added to the ambiance and did not seem to bother anyone. For anyone complaining about boat fumes, specifically those travelling from a big city, it’s unclear to me how this could be such a concern - it did not bother us in the least. The beach water was lovely and easy for entry/exit (Ie. not steep). The sand was nice and clean with some seaweed near the shore, but nothing of a concern - it is the beach after all. As for complaints we read about musty rooms, this was also not a concern for us, specifically since one can appreciate that in such a warm climate this should be expected. After booking we had realized there was no swim up bar, but in our experience this ended up not being an issue at all. There are enough bars within walking distance of the pool and often staff walking around happy to get you your beverage of choice (and even delivering skewers of fruit). Any negative reviews about staff service were also unfounded to us. Yes there were some language barriers, but seeing as we are in their country, this is expected and completely understood as being a slight barrier. Also, while staff were not “jumping up and down” to cater to us, all of our needs were met without a concern. All in all, a great vacation. As it seems the resort will be expanding based on some signs of construction on the outer perimeter, we would definitely consider going back to Lopesan based on our positive experience and the fact that we typically like to change the locations we visit in order to see new resort grounds and have new experiences.

**MOLD!! CHECK YOUR LAMP SHADES** But great staff & resort.
My boyfriend and I booked the adults-only section and got a room on the fourth floor, the room was beautiful but immediately when we walked in you could smell the mold. Upon inspection, we found a significant amount of mold on the lampshade and some under the door of the shower. Everything in the room was damp, I should have listened and bought damp rid like some had suggested as this and the smell of the mold made it difficult to sleep at night. The resort was stunning, especially at night! It is a big resort, we'd get at least 10k steps a day, which isn't bad considering how much food we ate. Lots to do as well, there are always multiple activities planned throughout the day in addition to the casino, escape room, etc. The food on the resort was a 7/10, I did enjoy most of it! We went to El Charro, El Asador, La Boheme and Gondola which were all amazing. Buffet was good as well. The staff and service were unreal 902342/10 - Domingo at the adults only pool would make sure we were taken care of throughout the day. At breakfast, dinner and lunch, there would always be someone refilling our water, taking away our dirty plates, or refilling our coffees. The cleaning staff were great as well, we were brought clean towels and water every day. Overall, was a great experience except for the room which is unfortunate as it would have been a perfect trip. Not sure how much longer this resort will last considering how bad the mold was!

Our 2nd trip to Lopesan, this time at the adult only club
This is our 2nd trip to this resort. In march 2024, we had booked unique club but, for us, it wasn't worth the premium paid. This time, we decided on adult only and we've much preferred it over the unique club. Be aware that the adult only hotel rooms area is for everyone including kids, it's only the pool that is adult only. Upon check-in, we were offered a free upgrade from garden view to pool view and thought it was nice to be offered some incentive for returning guests. We did appreciate the food at all restaurants and buffet, our best been the Inari, the Mareas and the El Charro. We had great times at the Caribe buffet, the staff is always welcoming and smiling. Something has changed at The Valley and while we did appreciate the food on our first trip, we did not this time, the food was not cook enough or cold. The drinks were excellent at the La Perla adult only pool bar compared to last year Unique bar or Infinite pool drinks that were mostly served with no alcohol if you didn’t ask for it. We had some’s issues during our stay. Except for the 2 occasions that we had a different maid, the room cleaning service was horrible, from missing towels to no balcony cleaning or no cleaning at all even if we left tip everyday. The minibar was left not refill on multiple occasion and again we also left tip in the mini fridge. On day 3, I went to the reception to ask for a refill since we only drink bottled water and we had none left. From day 4, we decided to stop leaving tip. Our room was also in a decline state, the patio door couldn't be close or lock completely, the was a gap that we could see the outside through. Hopefully, there was not a lot of insects at the 4th floor. There was paint chipping from the balcony wooden guard rails. The balcony of this section of the 4th floor only has a partial roof so when it rains the couch got all soak and it took forever to dry. A desk drawer was broken and couldn't be used. The shade on the floor lamp was covered with unknown stains. There was a large blood stain underneath the toilet seat and a large mold on the shower floor. The ceramic tile grout beside the toilet had a dark brown color that was disgusting. Someone before us left a round sticker on the shower wall that was still there on our last day. There was no carafe for the coffee machine and we had to ask to get one. I’ve taken pictures of most issues but don’t feel it necessary to publish them. Despite all these issues, we both appreciated our stay but it will probably be our last time at the Lopesan if they don’t drop the price considerably. This resort is still enjoyable but should not still be consider 5 stars. We thought that weren’t getting enough for our money.

Unique Club at Lopesan` Costa Bavaria
We had the highest category in this hotel - Unique Club. They got us a room at the highest floor with an amazing ocean view. Our Unique Beach was located 2 minutes away from the room - it was never crowded and they served us drinks right to the sunbed. As we were with the Unique Club, the hotel assigned a personal butler to us - Isaury De Los Santos. We had a personal meeting with him on our first day, so that we could ask all questions we had about the stay. The hotel has 6 restaurants and they are really hard to book on your own because of high demand. But Isaury managed to provide us with the dinner spots in all 6 restaurants - so we tried different cuisine every dinner. We also had his WhatsApp and could ask or request anything at any time and would make sure everything is fulfilled and all our needs are met. Couple of times he came to us at the beach to check on us quickly. All in all, we didn't need to worry about anything - Isaury was our connecting link with all hotel departments and systems. The hotel area is clean, stylish and beautiful so that you wanna capture every corner of the territory. The room was perfectly cleaned every day, the buffet food selection is huge, extremely diverse and delicious - vegetables, meet, seafood, fish, pasta, pizza, sweets, etc. They use international alcohol for cocktails and don't spare it. Have no complains about it!
