Overall positive stay but room for improvement
We spent 11 nights at the Lopesan. Overall an enjoyable stay but we did encounter problems when there. On the plus side, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained and alongside the huge infinity pool are the biggest positives of the hotel. The Boulevard is a really unique feature that I hadn't seen in a hotel before, with shops, a gym, places to eat and drink giving the feel of a small town. In particular, Bavaro Coffee is a real gem - great quality coffees and the best spot to see the cats which frequent the property, so a must if you are an animal lover. I saw some reviews comment on the unfriendliness of staff but this was not our experience, most of them were chatty and friendly. The food overall was quite good, great variety of buffets and a-la-carte options which were easy to book via the app and no signs of the sickness for us other reviews had mentioned. Drinks also of good quality - a big plus for us as Europeans was they had Aperol Spritz which you dont always find at all inclusives! However, onto the negatives. On arrival we were given a room that had signs of mould. Hoping things would improve, or be cleaned in due course, we encountered heavy rain early in our stay and subsequently the mould got significantly worse, as well as the shower fitting coming loose of the wall. To their credit, once I showed the guest services the photos of the damage, they changed our room to a better room later that day which was infinitely better and mould free. However, it seems strange that a hotel built in an area that has a rainy season struggles to cope with rain - damp and leaking ceilings in the corridor and reception could all be seen and the floors are made of tiles that are incredibly slippy so a real hazard. The queues at the towel exchange were another point of frustration, never seen a lack of towels at 9am before. They also wouldn't give regular guests the orange 'unique' towels when they had none of the regular towels left which I thought was petty given their were loads available and led to waiting around for several minutes daily to get a towel. They have a huge and impressive theatre but the entertainment was average at best. Michael Jackson and International America shows were the only good ones we saw, they lack a variety of activities, for example for a hotel with such a beautiful and large pool, there was no aqua fitness activities offered. Overall we still enjoyed our stay but the mould and leaks really need addressing for a 5 star hotel.

STUNNING. One of the best I've visited
Please read this review - I'll be as honest as I can., and I will keep it as brief as I can. Firstly - ignore any of the negative reviews, this hotel is beautiful. Grounds - stunning, very modern Pool - lovely, SLIGHTLY heated to take the chill off but still cool when you get in Rooms - amazing. So big, open, modern Cleanliness - id lick the floor, this place is immaculate Entertainment - meh, but we just sat in the bars anyway Food - very good, 7 different a la carte, some fantastic, some okay, but good all inclusive food Drinks - good selection, they will also make whatever cocktails you want. They're not really watered down either which is nice Beach - beautiful Location - lovely, didn't feel unsafe at all. Book it. It's fantastic

A photographer's dream and paradise.
Since I just came back from my trip to the Dominican Republic and stayed at the Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort. Here is my thorough review on this beautiful, amazing hotel. First off, when choosing hotels. I wanted to make sure my hotel had a lot of photo opportunities, amazing food and amazing vibes as in, it wasn't too relaxing but not overly a party resort, the beach had to be amazing too. I felt like this resort was PERFECT. Hit right in the middle of what I was searching for. there were 9 restaurants tons of bars and a club. There were events EVERYDAY. Whether it was on the beach, by the huge infinity pools, in the theatre, in the club etc. They have an entertainment team that made the hotel soo lively and soo wonderful. There was never a dull moment which made my stay amazing. I became friends with two of the entertainment people, Perla Negra & Pinky, they made our stay amazing and are soooo talented at what they do! Especially Perla Negra, he had always updated me on the events happening for the day and encouraged me to be out of my comfort zone. I never felt left out and he really took the time to make me feel special by allowing us to get vip treatment in the events they had. As well as shouting me out. My trip was just with my friend and I, so sometimes when we didn't make new friends that day, we would visit their events to have a great time! There were always things to do if you didn't have time for an excursion. The entertainment was spot on. What was very helpful was their app, their app allowed you to book everything ahead of time, be aware of the events they had, the type of things to do and an interactive map of their whole resort! to help you find your way, because this resort was hugeee lots of walking but the walks were always breath taking to look at because of their layout. The food was amazing! I feel like for resort food it was a delicious! I really, highly recommend the french restaurant, hibachi restaurant, steak restaurant, and mexican restaurant as my top choices! Also if you like cats, I found like 4 resort cats walking around everyday. Sooo adorable! The beach was BREATHTAKING. Super soft white powdery sand, blue waters, when I went there was no seaweed until the last day after a storm. We went in November so definitely hard to guess the weather. There was one day it poured soo hard but people still enjoyed the foam party by the main pool. It was still busy surprisingly and the entertainment people still let the show go on! The only thing about the beach view is that there were tons of boats parked in front of it i think for excursions, lots of companies docked their boats out front but it definitely adds onto the entertainment. You didnt have to go off the resort really to enjoy your time here. Overall, this resort exceeded my expectations. It was truly wonderful and a dream. I think I chose the best one with a great balance. I didn't want to leave, wish I stayed longer. Genuinely impressed. ****I am a freelance photographer on the side, and I had my professional camera with me at all times. I was obsessed with the luxury vibes this hotel was giving. It had a calm side to it too which was a dream. I felt a good mix of feelings and took all these amazing snapshots which I will share some in this post. Definitely a photographer's dream.

Lopesan Resort Review by TPExpress Travel
I just spent a few days at the beautiful property Lopesan in Punta Cana and from my experience I couldn’t wait to return home. I had high hopes for this resort, and I would rate the property at 4 stars and the food and customer service/staff at 2.5-star rating. • Food quality (food was horrible, minus the Steakhouse) • The shower temperature was loop warm • The resort staff was 90% unbelievably rude and we did experience racism from many staff members. • The entertainment was okay (The nightclub was gorgeous, minus the services) • You are only allowed one pool/beach towel per person (towel card needed, do not care for) I would not return to this resort, and I wouldn’t recommend it to my clients. There are other better resorts in Punta Cana.
