Winter of 2025 trip
This resort is just gorgeous! We had a wonderful time from the pools, to the beach, to the food and the entertainment. Huge shout out to our butler Melissa. She went above and beyond to ensure our trip was memorable. Our favorite bartender Eric at the lower lobby bar. Best bartender ever! The view from our rooms was just beautiful as we had beachfront rooms. It was so nice to open the patio door and listen to the waves. We were able to enjoy all of the restaurants and our favorites were the Italian and the French restaurants. Shout out to Sandoval at the French restaurant. He was so attentive and has the best smile. My only criticism would be to housekeeping as towels were not replaced when they took the used ones and after we used the jacuzzi on the balcony it was never cleaned so we could not use it again. We will definitely return.

Overall we enjoyed ourselves - just be aware of these things if they are important to you...
The resort is well maintained and the grounds are beautiful. We had asked our travel agent to book rooms next to the other couple we were traveling with and we ended up on separate floors in the 6000 building. The buffet food was blah. Hot meals were cold and things like yogurt were tepid. The omlette station at breakfast was a great way to get a hot breakfast. Yes, as they advertise, there are six swim up bars. However, they were not staffed. None of them. The staff that was there was fabulous! Esther and Victor and so many more. But the one main pool had a swim up bar at the back and walk up bar at the front. The walk up bar was the only one you could almost always find someone at. Then they would walk around to the swim up bar occasionally to check if someone was waiting. We just gave up like everyone else and got out of the pool to get our drinks. We enjoy a good game of cornhole/bags. The set they had were put out almost every day but were in an area where the boards were 10 ft apart. The bags were half the size of a normal bag and less than 1/4 of standard weight. Too light and too small, the holes on the boards were nice and large to accommodate novices! They have a "club" and "family" stays available. The club gets their own bar, looked like pool bag, concierge, butler, booze in room, slippers, priority bookings etc. We could see the value but enjoyed our stay in the "family" zone. Very few children. We arrived on a Thursday and we departed on Tuesday. Immediately upon arrival we went to guest services to book dinners. The Japanese and French restaurants require reservations. The steak house food was ok. I very much liked the Italian restaurant, their house red wine, fettuccini alfredo and chicken Parm. The French restaurant had no openings and they were able to get us in to the Japanese restaurant at 9:30pm on Monday. We are not young. This was an effort to stay up. The Japanese restaurant/hibachi/show was the least impressive I've seen. No tossing shrimp, no volcanos made out of onions etc. We were served three sushi rolls (good), and fishy soup. Then he chef made shrimp fried rice, then chicken, then beef, then salmon. There was soo much food, most of it was wasted. had to leave the restaurant to go to the bar outside for drinks and bring them back. If you can tell, beverages are important to us. Bring your thermal cup and straw. They have no straws anywhere and they sort of half wash the cheap plastic cups before they reuse them and give them to someone else. The drinks were weak and sugary. In fact, the booze did not taste right in any drink. I ordered an Aperol Spritz - didn't taste like Aperol. Absolute Mandarin and club soda, didn't taste like absolute Mandarin. I do have to say the Jameson tasted right, but the CC did not. I think they may be making their more popular booze like vodka and rum. There are only two small gift shops on premise and of course they are expensive. $35 for SPF lotion. There was a couple playing guitar and singing in the main entertainment area after our late Japanese dinner. They were playing old school love songs and I loved it. But while they were performing, a couple of contractors came to the middle of the space and started dropping twenty foot poles and platforms, seemingly setting up a large stage for a production the next day. I thought it was rude and definitely interrupted the show. They do not have a map of the resort and give zero instructions on where to eat, find towels, guest services etc. Nothing. They pointed to a QR code on the slip of paper they give you with your room number and tell you that's the map. You have to log into their wifi every single day with the long code they give you at check in so take a pic of it, you'll need it. Wifi was not reliable. We did find a standing map of the resort in the lower lobby. We were greeted with warm wet wash cloths and a welcome drink upon arrival which was nice. Their room key is a cloth bracelet with a one inch piece of wood. This was wonderful not having to keep track of a key while at the pool or beach. The first time we went to our room, of course neither of the four of our bracelets worked. Back to the lobby! There is a touchpad next to the bed which controls everything in the room. Even the bathroom lights. I showered in the dark the first day until we figured it out. Also, if the patio door is even cracked a bit, the A/C will not turn on. Also, we never once had housekeeping. We had one small round bar of soap for five days for both of us and whatever towels they originally had stocked. Don't pull the bath towel off the rack next to the tub without holding the rack - it is not attached to the wall. It will fall on you. I promise. The beach was lovely. The water was breathtaking and the weather was perfect. This hotel is a little off the beaten path for us, we like to explore local shops and restaurants but this is too far from everything. The return airport transfer picked us up at our resort at 7:30 for our flight at 12:30. Seemed excessive at least we were not rushed. Overall we enjoyed ourselves.

From a couples perspective
My husband and I stayed at the resort for 5 nights. Would have given 5 stars, but the food wasn’t our favorite. The breakfast and lunch buffets were just okay, we had better luck at the restaurants for dinner. Our favorite restaurant was the steakhouse, but all restaurants had a great ambiance and attentive staff. We were in the 1000 block and didn’t have an issue with the weddings being too loud. Pros: - Comfortable and spacious room/bathroom (does get humid) - Beautiful resort with friendly staff - Plenty of pools and seating - Entertainment every night we were there. The jazz was our favorite! - The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. Shout out to Jesus in the swim up bar and Michelle our butler! Cons: - No public hot tubs. Our room had a jacuzzi but we would have liked to hang outside in a hot tub at night. - The drinks were pretty weak and sugary. I ended up adding liquor myself from what they supplied in our room at check in and club lounge. - No ginger beer to make a Moscow mule or Riesling wine - Not sure if this was a fluke, but 2 nights in a row the smoke alarms in the hallway went off at 4 AM. Only lasted a few seconds but enough to disrupt our sleep

This is a top tier all inclusive resort. The facilities are impressive, the food is comically good & the people make it.
This is a top tier all inclusive resort. The facilities are impressive, the food is comically good and although the resort is sold out, it doesn’t ever seem crowded. This was our first time in Mexico.. we were nervous due to a lot of the negative news stories from years gone by but these nerves were completely unjustified. The people here are amazing and the culture is very special to be apart of. There are several employees that made this week long vacation special and they deserve a shout-out. Our butler, Rafael was fantastic. We had a rough first night due to some personal circumstances and a minor problem with our room but Rafa was here for us and ensured things got rectified immediately so we could get to enjoying our trip. The entire entertainment staff are spectacular.. the theme nights are very fun.. we especially loved the Mexican night with endless food, music and performances. During the day, we couldn’t resist returning over and over again to the Lively wet bar for the pool side games and entertainment. Special shout-out to Amanda, Marie and Diana who were out here almost everyday pumping us up! Finally, our server Francisco at Don Juame was so nice. He prevented me from making a mistake in the temperature of my steak.. his advice was appreciated and made the meal delicious! Not to mention offering an accompanying sauce not even on the menu cause he thought it would fast the best! The resort is huge. If you were hoping for something more intimate this probably is not for you. I have to say it caught us a bit off guard at the start but by the second or third day we got used to it. In summary, this is a very safe choice for an all inclusive. It would be very difficult to not have a good experience here.
