Exceptional Staff
We recently stayed at this hotel and had an exceptional experience, largely due to the outstanding service provided by the staff. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that guest satisfaction is a top priority. Felipe and Chris (butler service), and Rayli (pool bar) truly went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Felipe was incredibly warm and welcoming at check-in and throughout our stay, ensuring all our needs were met with efficiency and a genuine smile. Chris, was extremely attentive and really made sure we had everything to make our stay memorable. It was our first time with butler service and we weren’t sure what to expect, we can now highly recommend it, and it was never uncomfortable. Both also helped us book spa and restaurants seemlessly. We highly recommend the hydrotherapy experience and Japanese teppanyaki restaurant. Rayli was particularly attentive, ensuring we got the best sun loungers around the pool and that we always had a drink in our hand. All the staff checking in was a personal touch that made us feel valued. The level of care and attention these three provided really stood out, and it’s evident that the hotel fosters a team culture of hospitality excellence. If I was to critique anything, the buffet restaurant should provide the same quality of food as the other restaurants. The service alone makes this hotel standout and worth it.

Beautiful resort but I don’t like unequal treatment
We went here on our honeymoon and I let them know ahead of time and asked about room options. It is really frustrating to read reviews that some people got complimentary upgrades to their room or decorated rooms and banners and we got absolutely nothing for celebrating our honeymoon. Our concierge told my husband he had a plan and would be in touch but never did anything. I just think since we paid extra to be on the adult side and they knew it was our honeymoon that we would be celebrated in some way. It just felt underwhelming and compared to what others got, a little something would have been nice. We met someone who was there for their birthday and they paid nothing extra for a banner and birthday treat. It was just given to celebrate. Other than that the food is great and the resort is nice. We loved the steak house but I also loved mar house for lunch- sooo many options as well as flavours for breakfast. What makes this resort is the staff at the restaurants and the bars. Air Canada advertised there were catamaran, s snorkelling and kayaks included but there wasn’t any of this. Lots of cabanas and chairs until the last few days when it got busier. Also, some staff saved seats for certain people - I got up at 6am everyday to reserve one for myself and my husband as we were never offered this service. We did tip bar staff, restaurants and our room cleaner. Entertainment was good- especially the fire show and the Mayans. Sadly we had to ask for updates on the app for daily activities from our concierge so we missed some things. My only real disappointment was not really feeling like it was a honeymoon. I had read and seen so much as to what they do for others so was very disappointed, especially since the concierge told my husband he had a plan but then never followed up. Moises (beach) and Liliana (flavours and mar) were so friendly ! Also Angel, Jonathan (beach), Rayli and Jose (pool), Charley , Jesus and Willy (steakhouse). Mexican restaurant/ night-Christian. We can’t remember our servers and cook names at Italian and Japense but they were all fantastic.

A sensational honeymoon trip!
We just returned from our honeymoon at the Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres, where we stayed for 14 nights, and it was an unforgettable experience. The resort is incredibly spacious, so even with other guests around, it never felt crowded. The lobby is beautifully designed, and the bars offer a fantastic atmosphere throughout the stay. There is a wide selection of restaurants serving high-quality food, along with premium drinks at the bars, which made both dining and relaxing even more enjoyable. A highlight of our stay was the Japanese restaurant, Kabuki. We dined there twice, and both experiences were outstanding. Our chefs, Ricardo and Elias, were not only talented but also entertaining, making each meal feel special. The Mexican restaurants also impressed us with excellent margaritas and delicious local dishes. Our waiter, Gerado, was very attentive and made us feel at home. The Italian restaurant was another favorite. We visited multiple times, and the staff was always accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. They even sourced special ingredients for a dish that was unavailable at the time, demonstrating their commitment to guest satisfaction. We spent a lot of time at the Infinity Bar, where bartender Johnson was exceptional. He mixed our drinks to perfection and always made us feel so welcome. The Lobby Bar became our daily stop in the evenings, where Antonio greeted us with a smile and served fantastic Singapore Slings and Chocolate Martinis. We also want to give a big shout-out to Alvaro and Tino, who were amazing at the bar as well. Our butlers, Gustavo and Ahuitz, were incredible. They were always accommodating, and no request was ever too much for them. They worked miracles in turning situations we thought were impossible, truly making our honeymoon even more memorable. The resort offered a variety of daily activities, from musicians and foam parties to bingo games. There was something for everyone, no matter what we were in the mood for. We particularly enjoyed the Queen Tribute Band, the Jazz Band, and the saxophonist by the pool. Overall, our experience at the Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres was fantastic, and we would absolutely return. It was the perfect destination to celebrate our honeymoon!

Great for Celiac
We recently returned from Majestic Elegance. We choose Majestic Elegance because my wife is Celiac, and our research showed that they were good with handling allergies. The resort was excellent at handling all my wife's meals. At every meal, the chef would come see us before we ordered and would go through the menu with her to see what she could order and then talk to the servers to ensure they knew she was celiac. My wife was very nervous about the meals before we arrived, but they quickly made her feel comfortable. All the meals were excellent, and she had no issues throughout our stay. We thank Chef Sebastian and Chef Joi, as well as our servers Miguel and Diego and our host Marisol for making the food experience of our trip fantastic. If you have an allergy and you are worried about your meals, then this resort would be an excellent choice for you. Our butler Isaac was excellent. Once you arrive you are set up on their app so you can communicate through the app for anything you may need throughout your trip. Our servers on the beach made our time relaxing and wonderful. We want to give a specific thanks to Cauhich (Caweech) and Manuel. We introduced ourselves on our first day and they remembered our names every time they saw us. They ensured we had "our spot" on the beach every morning. Overall, we loved our stay and we look forward to returning next year.

Unexpected fail of a high start resort
Majestic has many 5 star reviews. Which in many categories is accurate. I will point out a few things in a summary first and more details later if you care to have more specifics and have the time to read. Pros: Clean rooms, courteous staff, good food Cons: Construction, lack of communication, dishonest management, dismissive company, lack of pool lounges/space, small central pool area, daily weddings. We booked a 6 day vacation for my family using COSTCO travel, two kids and two adults several months ago. We requested a specific sized room to accommodate us, which was provided as requested. The room had minor issues, lack of bedding for the extra beds, not working remotes, broken power outlet, toilets constantly flushing. Nothing life and death. I addressed the toilet problem, and called room service for the other things. We arrived Sat evening, In the morning we realized our room view is facing a construction site for Majestic. We were not thrilled but figured we will be spending our time around the resort so we sucked it up and tried to make the best of it. But later discovered at night we had several flood lights, (assuming for security of the construction site??) filled the area with super bright lighting making it impossible to ignore and to enjoy the space of the balcony (the relaxing lounger and the tub with air jets that we were excited to see earlier). We had another surprise, Monday morning by being woken up by machinery and other construction noises. We had no idea this was an active construction site! We brought this up to management the next day. Of course you hear the typical "we are sorry for the inconvenience, we will look into this etc etc" heard nothing back initially. I follow-up with the manager again and they offered to move us, at this point we are halfway into our 6 day trip, our suitcase and toiletries are unpacked. The kids have their bedding. We are living in the room. I said NO, we are not wasting half a day to repack, move rooms, hope the new room has the space we originally requested, and that everything functions. I asked to see if they can do something for compensation or re-imbursement for this, once again half a day goes by. Run into the manager again (he claimed he was going to look for us by the pool) but never showed up. So I say ok, maybe do something for my wife, perhaps a nice time at the onsite spa with massage etc. I run into him later and he says good news we got something for you and your wife at the spa. I said great! I was curious about the value if the spa package and he chimes in its around $170 US per person, He gets us to sign a waiver (attached) for some hydro therapy massage, so we book it for next morning. We are all excited, after speaking to the spa attendant we follow the instructions. Was a bit of a joke, jump in the cool tub, jump in this warm tub, here is a sauna, after 3 mins, go to the next steam room. SO this relaxation spy treatment is being rushed through these "hydro" sessions by an attendant. I have all this at the gym back home. So i ask the attendant is there a massage included as this was the expectation from the manager, he says no, that is an extra $170/hr, so they call the manager and manager shows up (funny enough within 5 minutes) and says no, you signed the "hydro therapy" session. I told him what we went through is what i have at my gym at home and were expecting something decent for compensation.. He answered in the expected corporate fashion and said this is the best we can do blah blah, I answered, ok fine. Do something for the kids. Maybe some souvenirs or something fun for them to take home etc. and he gives the expected "let me see what i can do" answer. The next day he actually calls the room, which i was surprised at , and says no sorry we can not do anything for you or the kids, to which im not surprised at all. I feel out of breath after that experience and explanation. A few other things worth noting, this resort based on the adds that run on the tv's in the room seem to be geared for destination weddings. Which is fine, as i had one of those a number of years ago. HOWEVER this place does NOT have a large pool area, they have little moats that run down the side of some of the buildings for those rooms facing them to walk out into. But they don't really have much pool expected accessories, lounges, sitting areas etc. The center of the resort has a very small pool (for this resort size) in the middle along with "SKY Lounge" which is in a slightly raised structure. With a small L shaped pool with a few more loungers. This same SKY lounge had a wedding almost every afternoon, evening. Except the one night where rain was forecast 🙂 Please don't get me wrong, i have no issues with weddings, BUT the space which would be normally beautiful to hang out at in the evening is never available. And during the day that is usually occupied by the same wedding peeps. And is a loud drunken bachelor / bachelorette get together before. At least in the evening if your room is facing this center courtyard you get the benefits of the chosen party music for that particular wedding. i'm surprised they don't offer these weddings at nice beach location where they have privacy and not impact and disturb the rest of the guests at the resort. If you read this far congratulations! 🙂 Like i said overall the resort seems fine in terms of food and staff, its what you would expect for an all inclusive here. BUT my bigger issue is with character, both of the management and the company. The things we asked for were not big-ticket items. It was more about the morality of the experience. Which both management and this company in my option FAILED. Summary, if you have a wedding party here fine, if you want to stay in a room in front of the moat pool fine, if you bring family here and expect a great experience not so much. My apologies for this mini novel. BUT the 5 star reviews of this resort are questionable, and I dont think I would come back here again for the money we paid for this vacation. PS, almost forgot to mention, we ran into a few people that also had issues with the construction, ironically enough, The Hydro therapy is a common compensation tactic for the resort. Also the $170US per person package the management said they supplied was in fact a $50 / per couple promo visit, the spa told us that. And also at time of checkout the front desk said we owe $50 for that same treatment. Luckily I had a photo of the letter we were asked to sign by Jorge Gonzalez for accepting the $340 ($170us/person) lol, which in fact was $50/couple. Also Jorge let it slip that this is not an uncommon issue with people complaining about the construction, my thing is and i said this to him, why would the resort keep making these rooms available for booking when they are receiving complaints about the construction and risk negative feedback about their reputation and reviews. Some people won't say anything and just suck it up. Some will say something and be given the standard shut them up $50 hydro therapy package. Then there will be people like I that are too old to take excrement like this and dont have the patience and spend an hour the day before xmas to share their experience. Funny enough Jorge said that "its a great perspective and he will share it with management" Sorry Jorge, i gave you and your company a chance to make it right, you chose not to. And because of that I decided to give up a little of my precious time to share my experience about you and Majestic. And I know how much your company values these reviews as one of your staff at the Bistro restaurant happened to have a laminated QR code for google review. I have no complaints about him, in fact his service was AMAZING and i told him so. Majestic could learn something from a humble waiter that works at one of their restaurants. Hopefully Costco and or Majestic stop giving out these rooms on peoples overpriced relaxing vacations.
