Beautiful
I was travelling around the country. I had two separate stays in Granada in different hotels. This was my favourite and I loved it! You cannot beat the location. Very central. Loved like the colours and the feel of a colonial house not to mention the views and smell of chocolate from the shop below. Staff were pleasant. Rooms were nice and spacious. My small negative which appears to be a common issue in Central America is that the evening can be chilly especially areas of high altitude and rooms are cold. Suggest taking an extra blanket or wearing something warm when sleeping. Grounds and rooms were clean and well kept. Despite the busy area outside, the hotel is an oasis of calm!

Spacious room in artistic property
We booked Mansion de Chocolate at short notice and had a really good stay, especially during challenging times with Covid. The staff were really friendly and helped us make a reservation for a Cacao body massage which was AMAZING! Room was very spacious and quiet and honestly way exceed our expectations. The location is ideal, on a quiet street but close to the main square and great cafes/restaurants. Only drawbacks is that the pool area didn't really look open and breakfast included was basic enough. But the café's in the hotel looked really good. Definitely recommend and look forward to returning when things get back to normal.

Great Place for short stays and enjoying a pool
After eight years coming to Granada and having seen this Hotel, it was an opportunity (a great rate without breakfast included) to stay at Mansion de Chocolate apartment unit for 30 days. The room was large with an ensuite bathroom, hot water in the shower and air conditioning. For a room of this size it had a king size bed, writing desk area, microwave and basic utilities but no fridge. The pool area had sufficient loungers during our stay but would not be enough if booked with more guests; definitely, the Hotel has seen better days and needs maintenance, which was underway. On a very plus side, the staff was wonderful, helpful and going out of their way to please remembering our preferences for breakfast and other wishes. The location of the hotel is ideal and close to central park. The hotel is more positioned for short stays and younger generations, locals from Managua or Costa Rica than for retirees looking for a different level of comfort.

New Years Eve in Granada
We stayed at The Mansion de Chocolate and really loved it. Elizabeth who works at the front desk was in contact with us before arrival. We got to meet her and she was a jewel. She spoke great English and helped us while we there and even after we checked out. Flor was the gal behind the little bar out back by the pool. She worked so hard from morning to night making her fresh fruit cocktails and delicious food. The bar is small but had a tranquil feel and Flor made us feel most welcome and also spoke English. Each room is different and eclectic, the beds were comfortable and the guys that work in the Chocolate Museum were very friendly. New Years was exciting, fireworks and firecrackers were abundant, what a fun night to be there! Thanks to all at the Maison de Chocolate ( especially Elizabeth !)

Chocolate Museum
We only visited the museum but we had an amazing time! The guide had our group singing, dancing and generally having a ball. After 5 hours on the tour bus, our guide at the chocolate factory really brought the energy up and made our visit to the chocolate factory one of our highlights of Nicaragua. Amazing experience that I can't suggest enough. The chocolate rum is AMAZING and the body butter was excellent.
