Off the beaten path.
Loved the Mercure Hotel in KyoTango. Clean, Efficient, great staff. Wonderful area before or after visiting the busy city of Kyoto. Lots to do here - including the fishing town across the inlet. Ponta's is a wonderful restaurant to have dinner at in KyoTango. Call ahead.

Alejandra at the adult pool amazing!
Alejandra at the adult pool was absolutely amazing. Always checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed and filling up our drinks. She continuously made her rounds around the pool and never made anyone wait long. She is the best!!!!!

Alejandra is the best
Alejandra is the consulate professional. Her service is fantastic and her warm personality is always welcome. I visit Marival regularly and always look forward to seeing Alejandra. From a service industry perspective I would have to say that Alejandra is one of the best.

Good experience for the family
We had a good experience when we were here with the family. We brought our three young kids along with us and they had a great time. The highlight for the kids was the kids pool. They spent hours in it. All the construction is complete, the new lobby is beautiful and we spent a surprising amount of time just hanging out in the lobby. My only complaint is that the hours were skewed pretty late. The main buffet isn't open at noon for lunch (the snack bar is open!), but if you need an early lunch for an excursion, you're in a tough place. We had to leave at noon for our flight and ended up having to do breakfast twice, because you can't get lunch at noon. The staff was friendly and easy to work with. There were a lot of opportunities for kids activities, but we didn't engage with them that much. You have to talk a little bit to get all the details on the different activities. We found the food and drinks to be pretty good for an all-inclusive. Overall a good experience.

Run Away from the Timeshare
The resort is beautiful and the staff are wonderful. Even the food is pretty good, but as someone who has put tens of thousands of dollars into the timeshare, do not do it. It used to be a good deal but the last couple of years members like me are paying as much as people off the street paying thousands of dollars in contracts and punished for asking for suites and also made to pay upfront with huge penalty fees if you cancel even months before. DONT DO IT
