Apr 04, 2025Memories Jibacoa: a place to call home
It was our second stay in this beautiful hotel and we are definitely planning to go back a third time. The hotel is perfectly located on the beach, surrounded by a coral reef, half way between Havana and Varadero with beautiful mountain views as a background. Impeccable service and perfect balance between friendliness and efficiency. Staff and management bend over backwards to make sure guests feel at home and are spared from the frequent outages that have been affecting Cuba in recent months. You really feel as if you are staying with friends where nothing is too much trouble, where staff and management seem to be working in perfect harmony with constant big smiles on their faces. A big thank you goes to Kiki (guest relations manager) and to all the members of the various teams starting from entertainment (Yendrik, Nelson, just to name a few…), restaurant and reception staff and managers. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a good balance between relaxation and entertainment. We’ll be back soon.

Another beautiful stay in our second home in Cuba. Our favorite resort always surprises us with new experiences. Great service and the beautiful team always trying to go beyond their hands to make you feel happy We loved our 8th time here and for sure we will return in the future. In love

Another Great Visit
My wife and I recently returned from a one week stay at our favourite resort. We have been to Jibacoa 17 times over the past 25 years and have always thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were somewhat anxious about returning this year because of the news and social media coverage of issues throughout Cuba. We were uncertain whether we should return or not. As it turns out, we had absolutely nothing to worry about. It was another amazing visit and we are looking forward to our return next Spring. Tucked in between a small mountain and the sea, Memories Jibacoa feels cozy and safe. Considering its age of 25+ years, the resort is in great shape. Since we visited last March, the painters have been busy sprucing up the place. Every thing looks fresh and clean. We noticed a number of new additions, including roof covers on the pool cabanas, comfy furniture both inside and outside the lobby, a new lobby bar, new chairs in the outdoor theatre area, and improved air conditioning in the piano bar. Finally, the bridge to the beach has been replaced, making access much easier. Anyone who has been to MJ will tell you it’s the staff that makes the place so special. These people face significant challenges in Cuba. Food and medical shortages, coupled with nationwide power outages, make their lives very difficult. In spite of this, they come to work every day with a smile and a desire to please their guests. Cuban warmth extends beyond the sunshine. Upon arrival at the resort, we were welcomed with hugs and kisses from many of the staff we have gotten to know over the years. While so many have moved on to other countries, the staff who remain are as friendly as ever. The new staff who have replaced those who have left have fit in quite nicely. All in all, they are an amazing team. So what about shortages? We did not notice anything significant. Perhaps the most notable for some was no bacon and french fries. We ate at two of the à la cartes, the buffet, and the beach bar. Every meal was quite enjoyable. Of particular note this year was Cuba day and the Beach Party. Both were high energy events with plenty of great music and dancing. It is so nice to see wait staff joining in with the entertainment crew. The evening entertainment, whether it be outside the lobby, in the à la cartes, in the piano bar, or at the outdoor theatre was, as always, top notch. Our only regret about our visit to MJ this year was that we only stayed for a week. Next year, we will make it two weeks for sure. Until then, Cuba, we love y

Great stay once again. Lovely resort with great people. Entertainment was amazing. Diving was superb. We really loved the people here and the great vibe all over the place. Magnificent hotel. We loved everything about Cuba and the food, the ocean, the pool, everything

We will return
Cleanest resort we've been to in Cuba-best food and most caring staff! Yeni, looking after the Premium Class guests was so helpful. Ilianny, on the beach was so attentive. Oralys and Dailenys at the lobby bar treated us like family. Love it!
