    Nice

Overall a decent resort. I had been there about 10 years ago and really liked it so there was a reason I went back. Times change and somethings are not always better especially since post covid. Comparing the reviews to their comparable resorts on the Island alot have the same concerns especially on the con side of pros and cons. The place is gorgeous. Very clean and well maintained. Food was good but nothing to write home about. Getting reservations was not a problem. (I am not a buffet person) I stayed at the level and was lucky to get one of the few ocean view rooms. Had a few issues but they were resolved quickly. However the level needs to do more to distinguish themselves. Also there was a complete lack of premium liquor. If you wanted some you had to pay for it. Thats if they had it. The masseurs were outstanding. In alot of these all inclusives they could be hit or miss. Mostly more miss. The excursions could have been better. They direct you to many markets with over bearing people trying to sell you something. I had to tell them in Spanish, 6 pies, distancia social por favor, (6 feet, social distance please). I just want to do the excursion and that's it. That's what happened the last time. Also some of the excursions had to many people on them. The language barrier is a problem and you are often left wondering about their lack of English. They don't have to take classes or pass English tests but for someone who studied the hospitality industry for a time in college more needs to be done to at least know the basics. This is not just limited to this resort but to all. Entertainment could have been better. The place is huge. Maybe to big. They do have tram cars to get you around but you won't mind the walk. It's just spectacular with the cobblestones. Trees and ponds. They would probably be better off breaking it up into 2 maybe 3 resorts.

    Doesn’t deserve a second stay

I’m in the lobby at Melia caribe writing this review . Firstly it’s an immense resort with a good upkeep of the grounds and buildings. Great beach with lots of lounge chairs and thatch canopies for shade but you have to get there early 7ish to get the best location . The staffing here is the worst we have experience sometimes you get a helpful person most times not so , the service is poor for example you would sit at the main buffet dining and wait for a while before you get all the utensils , glasses or even water .You might finish your dinner before they get around to you again ! The front desk is slow and not very informative, repair of our electrical problem in the room took hours , we went to bed after 12 midnight although the problem was reported at 6pm . This resort deserves 2 rating since the staff are the face of the resort and any interaction with them reflects badly on the management of melia itself . ◦

LOVE pool and Bar staff. HATE everything else

The bar and pool staff were AMAZINGGGG. We had so much fun with them and were so sad to leave BUT the concierge and cleaning staff are the reason I rated this resort so terribly. We didn’t have rags in our room and it took them over an hour to bring it to us, plus we didn’t have any toilet paper and after calling 3x, they never brought it to us so I had to go get it myself. Again, pool and bar staff are the reason why the trip was good but everything else was mediocre at best. Beautiful resort but would not recommend.

Family Vacation Melia Caribe Beach Level Beachside

We went to Melia Caribe Beach, Level for my Mom’s 60th Birthday and it was such a wonderful experience! Everything was smooth from the first day to the last. I would love to give a special thank you to our concierge Carlos who made our week a memorable one! He went above and beyond throughout the week and made sure that we were comfortable during our stay. He helped with decorating the room for my mom’s birthday, assisted with booking the bali beds, booked our dinner reservations, and most importantly, gave his honest opinions with everything around us. We also want to thank Michel who was always nice enough to pick us up when he saw us walking on the way to the lobby or restaurants. We appreciated that! The food and drinks were PHENOMENAL! So delicious. I couldn’t get enough of the octopus at Cape Nao. My daughter had an amazing time at the pools, waterpark, and the game room. There was something to do every day. Once again, thank you Carlos and all the staff at Melia! We can’t wait to come back again!
