    A wonderful hotel/staff/stay

Amazing hotel…we loved every minute of our peaceful break. Staff made the whole experience just wonderful- especially the warm welcome from Virginia on reception. We also loved our conversations with the wonderful lady (sorry didn’t catch her name) who looked after the Sky and Sea terrace. Food at breakfast/evening meal plentiful and varied. Balcony provided stunning views of the sea/sun rising. A bit of feedback for the hotel- extra signage at the meal stations would be appreciated- as a vegetarian it wasn’t always clear what I could eat. The vegan plates were delicious and a welcomed addition but some information as what they contained each day would be good (like the other signage). Also it was difficult to tell which of the daily specialities were meat free- e.g on sushi day. For those planning a stay just for information the pools are not heated so whilst we did use them at the time of year we visited (Nov 21 degrees in day) they were a bit chilly. Also the air con has been turned off so the rooms can get a bit stuffy when the doors are shut. We overcame this by opening the doors to our balcony and asking for a fan at reception. Entertainment each day way great, drinks reasonably priced, rooms clean and comfortable, staff amazing! Hotel is conveniently situated with beach across the road and steps leading to the town/shops either side of the hotel. Overall a fab time-we don’t want to go home to freezing Yorkshire but….we’ll hopefully be back. Thank you all at Meliá Costa del Sol for making our break away so special.

Horrible hotel claiming to be a premium hotel!

Stay away from this place at all cost!!!! Do not even think about staying here. This hotel is horrible and the service is absolutely horrible! Sadly I stay at Melia properties all over the world and never had an issue at any other property which confirms the horrible level of service st this hotel which boils down to the poor management staff at this specific hotel . Upon my arrival I checked in and not once did they mention any air conditioning challenges due to the season nor was it ever disclosed on the Melia AP when I made the reservation. When I arrived at my room I noticed it was very hot! I called the guest service line and was told that “this is winter” for them mind you it was 73 degrees and that their air conditioning system is centralized and does not work during this time of year. When I asked why was I not made aware of this prior to me reserving their response was for me to sleep with the windows open and that they could provide me with a fan!!! Seriously?? I called the Melia main number and they asked me to send an e mail to guest services, after sending it 7 times I finally hot a call from the guest services manager at the Costa Del Sol hotel. She told me that she was the manager and that there was no one above her that I could speak to. She told me if I chose I could checkout early and go somewhere else. It amazes me that Melia would even consider having someone with such an unprofessional attitude and highly lacking any customer service skills even answering phones snd much less managing their “customer experience” department at this hotel. I will never ever call or even look at this garbage hotel ever again and will make sure everyone I know is aware of how awful this hotel is and to stay away at all cost. They call the room I was given a premium room when in actuality its nothing more than a standard “holiday inn” room with a tiny little balcony…. Trust me, there are much nicer hotels in the area, stay away from this horrible hotel and their poor customer service ! Not once did they offer to credit any of the cost or compensate me in any way after taking my money for a product they were not able to provide! That is calked bait and switch!

Super hotel with a professional staff. Great location on the beach. Easy access to restaurants nearby and shops. Excellent breakfast with a great variety. Sea view available from all the rooms. Fantastic value for money. I would greatly recommend it.

    Excellent November Stay

A stunning hotel, a real find in Torremolinos, a place we had not considered for a break, but wow this hotel is 4 star luxury, fabulous modern hotel, delicious food, we were Half Board, a lot of choice for both breakfast and Dinner. A choice of pools, including the rooftop pools, and the beach across the road, which had two beach bars, part of the hotel chain as well. Evening Entertainment was top notch, just outside the hotel, you have lots of shops, pubs and restaurants and the walkway, that will take you into the old town.

Rooms lovely, but dining room chaotic

This is billed as a Luxe Hotel by Jet2. Nothing can ever be perfect but, in my opinion, this is not a Luxe hotel. We had booked a fortnight at half board (we didn't pay extra for the Level as snacks were mainly cakes and it seemed a lot extra for not a lot). We were welcomed to the hotel by efficient and friendly reception staff. It is spotlessly clean and a very busy hotel. The safety deposit box in the room is free of charge and no deposit. The pool towels carry a deposit and we were only allowed 2 (1 each) , even though I offered to pay another deposit for an extra one. We were also told we could change round dinner at night and lunch during the day. This was good news as we discovered as the holiday passed. Our room was a superior room with sea view and was on the 8th floor. The room was beautiful. Very clean, linen changed when you asked and both a coffee machine and a kettle and well stocked fridge. You could alter the air conditioning to match your needs. The balcony looked over the pool and had a wonderful view of the sea. Bathrobes and slippers were supplied. The pool is small and a little cramped with not very comfy sunbeds and no greenery (trees). There is a higher level sun terrace but you have to dismount several steps to reach the pool. The pool is small and not made for balls, lilos or any other sports, which didn't bother me. Although the hotel provides loungers on the beach this costs 17 Euros each, per day, which I thought a little excessive. This was even charged if you didn't come down to the beach till late afternoon. We visited the beach twice towards the end of our holiday and it was lovely. Comfortable beds and a lovely sea breeze. Now on to eating places within the hotel. There was a main dining room, which like all hotel dining rooms is self service buffet. This would have been no problem should the design had been better. The food was set out, in front of a wall so people could only go down one side and queues formed within minutes. The queue for the sweets, met the queue for the salads, which met, the cheese, which met the hot food. If you wanted a salad you had to negotiate the people in the sweet queue. At times people were a little cross as they thought others were pushing in front of them. The staff, on the whole were friendly and willing. Some were a bit off hand but on the whole they were good. I think the hotel was out to make money and squashed as many people in as possible. There just wasn't enough room at meal times for everyone to enjoy their food. The food was much like other hotels and they did have lovely omelettes at breakfast. We decided to go for lunch on two occasions, instead and we had a delicious three course meal, waitress served with no noise and no rush. This may only happen in late September/October. You would need to check. As we came into the second week of the holiday we found that there were several groups of tourists using the hotel, making for even more people in the dining room. Some nights it was impossible to get near the food. After this we chose to eat out and found some lovely restaurants along the sea front. The Italian restaurant had a duo playing each night and the setting of sea sand, low lights and music was beautiful. The food was excellent. The hotel has it's own beach restaurant opposite the hotel. This is also very nice and has a good atmosphere but is a little more expensive. However the staff are very friendly. The main bar was pleasant with good evening entertainment. We also visited the Sea and Sky bar which is situated on the top of the hotel, block 2. This gave lovely views of the bay and was very pleasant. The location is good and there is a lift up to the old town unless you want to climb the very steep steps. The lift is only 1 Euro return. Although we did have a lovely holiday, I don't think this is a Luxe hotel. I just feel the hotel has been built for cramming in as many people as possible. The reception area is spacious so this is not noticed until you have a meal in the dining room. I'm not sure we would return to this hotel as there are others which don't appear to have the same problems.
