    The Dark Cloud at Meliá

I can’t seem to bring myself to give them more than three stars. Truly, if they want a higher rating- they need to earn it. The rooms are tired- chipped floors and chipped walls. Old Carpet pulled up in the halls. Lights in the halls that don’t turn on. The tub in our room- once filled with water, would not drain. Hand lotions, soaps, and shampoos are all glued to the walls. I really don’t like that. It gives you the feeling that they don’t trust their guests. They really don’t seem to care. An overall attitude of indifference seems to permeate the building, like a dark cloud. The breakfast was also tired (and all the food was cold). I was very disappointed in the price I paid for the room ($300 USD), but it was the high demand week of “Semana Santa.” The food all seemed like it had been sitting for a long time. You have to ask for everything here- robes, tea kettles, etc. The rooms don’t come with any luxuries. Really missed having a coffee maker in the room, and I got yelled at when I went into an open door in the “Flex Room” to make myself a tea. “We have a bar. Go to the bar!” Why do I have to pay for one tea, when I paid $300 for one night? Fernando was helpful, and gave us a one time pass to “The Level” for the issues we had at Meliá Lebreros. It was a nice gesture, but still could not (as much as I tried) ascend them to more than an average rating from me. As a huge plus, the location is great- steps to the Plaza España.

    Almost perfect

The hotel location is great. Level in Sevilla hotell is good. Level areas nice and clean. Service level in general really good except one single person who unfortunately worked there all our breakfasts in the Level area. Either she doesn’t like her job or she don’t know what service is. An attitude unique at the hotel that we reacted on and also saw same reaction from other guest. This girl (Anabel) has nothing to do in an environment with clients or other people. The girl we prefer to remember are Patricia and Macarena. They always met us with a smile and high service level and kept attention on the client.

    Old, bad Hotel

I would give them zero star if possible. Nothing works, including AC on a 87 degrees day, toilet die not flush properly, changed room and the entry door does not close and the suggested to bring in a fan since AC is not working. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

    Underwhelming hotel

Stayed at this hotel during the week for our wedding anniversary and was very disappointed. Went to a Melia hotel in Thailand for our honeymoon so thought it would be a nice idea to go to this one while in Sevilla. I did look at the reviews on here prior to booking and saw there were a few mixed experiences, but based on our great experience with Melia hotels previously, we didn’t think there would be an issue. A few days prior to our arrival, I emailed the hotel stating we were attending for our wedding anniversary and asked to ensure a cot and a double bed was allocated to us as we were travelling with our 7 month old baby. I was emailed back however on arrival none of this was taken into consideration and we were allocated a room with twin beds and no cot. We were also allocated a room which was hidden away which felt like this was due to us having a baby. The room given to us was very underwhelming and didn’t live up to the standards shown in pictures of the adverts as well as the good reviews on here. There was a lot of damage to the room, unpainted/damaged areas, dirty floors and mould in the bathroom and around the AC, dirty glass on the bedside cabinet. Not what you expect for a 4 star hotel. We did contact reception and explained the issues but they said they were unable to change our room as the hotel was busy. Positives- house keepers were lovely and attentive, was given a kettle promptly when asked, decent location

    Great hotel!!!

What a great hotel! Ideal location to base yourself for a city break. We paid extra to be upgraded to The Level. It was so worth it! We had a spacious room with jacuzzi bath and our own area with complimentary drinks and tapas. Our concierge was so helpful giving us top tips on where to eat and drink. The hotel is across the road from Plaza de Espana where you can also get the obligatory horse and carriage ride. Clean hotel. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in Seville.
